Welcome to the Gentle Birth Pregnancy Immunocie Booster.

My name is Tracey Donaghan.

I'm a midwife and the founder of Gentle Birth.

I have created this programme to share freely with expectant parents around the world.

There is strong evidence that suggests guided imagery reduces stress and improves immune function.

Try to listen to this audio programme every day.

Unlike meditation where it's important to stay focused on the words during this relaxing session,

You can just let your mind wander.

But you may find the imagery reassuring during this time.

Take a very relaxed approach to this programme so it can be at its most effective.

Stress suppresses the immune system.

Please do not listen to this audio while driving or if you are doing any task that requires your full focused attention.

You can listen to the affirmations at any time.

If you are not pregnant,

You can still use this audio recording to support your physical and mental health in the coming months.

For expectant moms,

We'll begin by placing your hands on your belly,

Even if you are in early pregnancy.

However,

If you find this to be uncomfortable,

You can place your hands gently in your lap.

Use this position for daytime listening.

So any time you want to activate this healing response,

You can do so easily and without listening to the audio programme.

You may also find this recording beneficial at night time to help you sleep.

So let's begin.

So just getting yourself comfortably seated now.

Taking a few moments to get settled.

Somewhere you won't be disturbed for about the next 30 minutes or so.

And we'll begin by paying attention to the breath.

Simply notice your breath for just a few moments.

Notice how your body almost breathes itself.

You may notice how your belly rises and presses into your hands as you begin to breathe slowly and deeply.

I'd like you to take yourself to the top of a beautiful staircase.

This is your staircase of relaxation.

And as I count from one to ten,

You can find yourself going even more deeply relaxed.

This staircase has been designed exactly to your taste.

We'll put our hand on the rail and start to move down this staircase of relaxation.

One.

Breathing slow and comfortably.

Two.

Finding yourself even more relaxed.

Three.

And the deeper relaxed you go,

The better you feel.

Four.

Doubling that feeling of relaxation now.

Five.

Drifting and floating.

Floating and drifting.

Six.

Deeper down.

Allowing your body and mind to rest.

Seven.

Doubling that relaxation again.

Eight.

Feeling more and more relaxed.

Nine.

Almost there now.

Letting yourself drift into deep hypnotic rest.

And ten.

Stepping onto that last step.

Allowing a wave of relaxation to move through your entire body.

As you breathe in,

Imagine you are energizing your immune cells like tiny little sparks of light that are being turned on all around your body.

Imagine that your bloodstream is glittering like tiny illuminated rivers as your immune system grows stronger and brighter.

Your bloodstream is transporting important immune cells like a tiny army of light filled cells ready to defend and protect you and your baby.

As your immune system is activated,

You may notice a tingling or buzzing sensation in your fingers as this healing energy is calling this army of light to attention.

You might like to imagine or visualize that healing buzzing energy moving from your fingers through your belly and swirling around your baby as a cocoon of protection.

A tiny microscopic army of loyal defenders that are highly skilled are now moving through your body ready to defend you and your baby against viral invaders.

Imagine these elite special forces patrolling your body.

And this highly trained special force is trained to ignore any cells that are required for your healthy pregnancy.

This special army is focused on eliminating only unwelcome viruses and bacteria.

Each of these soldiers carry special lasers that neutralize any threat to you and your baby.

This highly trained special force is trained to ignore any cells that are required for a healthy pregnancy.

This special army is focused on eliminating only unwelcome viruses and bacteria.

Each of these soldiers carry special lasers that neutralize any threat to you and your baby.

Take a moment now and imagine that you are sitting in front of a control panel with lots of dials,

Buttons and switches.

In your mind's eye you see a dial that reads immune system.

And in your mind's eye now you can see that that dial is beginning to move.

The wisdom of your body will allow your subconscious mind to turn that dial to the perfect setting that is most appropriate for you and your baby.

As this dial is reset to your unique needs,

It will multiply this army and enlist other special forces throughout your immune system to provide additional reinforcements whenever needed.

Your subconscious mind will take care of this for you by setting your white cells and other helper cells to the level needed to keep you and your baby safe.

A special platoon is now tasked with patrolling the area around your face,

Mouth and nose.

Ever vigilant,

Standing guard,

This selfless,

Courageous army is ready to defend you and your baby.

And this platoon will remain in place until the threat has passed.

These brave,

Selfless troops are standing on your front lines every day and enlisting more troops when needed.

They are on high alert to protect you and your baby.

Take a few moments now to rest as the music plays and take a journey throughout your body,

Starting at the top of your head and see how all of your blood vessels are beginning to light up as that tiny army of protection is being activated.

You may even notice a particular sound that is a call to arms from your mind to these troops.

These tiny rivers of bright lights carrying those protectors are spreading throughout your body and your baby is being cocooned in white light of protection.

I'll be quiet for a few moments as you connect with your body and your baby.

And you can take a moment right now to really appreciate how incredible your body is.

Breathing in gratitude and breathing out stress.

You are safe.

You are strong.

Your baby is safe.

Your baby is strong.

And as I count up now from one to five,

You can slowly and easily and gently emerge yourself feeling well rested and feeling more reassured.

Or if you prefer,

You can drift into a dreamy restful sleep.

Beginning counting now.

One starting to feel the energy coming back into your arms and legs to breathing in wakeful energy now and feel that wakeful energy pulsing through your body.

Three breathing out any feelings of tiredness for hands and feet beginning to move.

Five eyes open and feeling good.

Thank you Tracy. I ended up having to put one hand on my chest to ease the anxiety but I do feel calmer now. This is one to return to. There was quite a lot of time at the end after you instructed me to open my eyes. Is there is suggestion of what you think would be a good idea to do in that time? I ended up writing my gratitudes and saying my affirmations.
