Cleansing the body with breath meditation.

This is a simple meditation,

Helping to build our focus on using our breath to cleanse our body,

To build our awareness and foster our breath to regenerate our thoughts and feelings while staying in the present moment.

The easiest way to do this meditation is a lying position or maybe in your favourite chair.

Let's begin.

Start to bring your attention to your breath,

Focusing on the part of your body where you feel it most strongly.

Perhaps this is your belly,

Your chest or around your lips or nose.

Begin with your experience of your breath for a moment.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Really feeling the sensation of your breath entering your body.

Use your breath as a tool to uncouple yourself from any feelings of discomfort you may have.

Imagining your breath is hugging those areas of discomfort.

That your breath is lifting your shoulders up slightly and releasing them into a soft,

Comfortable position.

Pausing for a moment,

Allowing your breath to fill your body with wholeness.

Nobody wants anything.

Nobody needs anything.

Move your thoughts to your breath,

Gently lifting you up and holding you,

Similar to a hug.

On every in-breath,

The hug gets comfortably tighter.

On every out-breath,

The hug releases and you relax back into your current position.

Dreaming to experience that lift and release for a moment.

If your thoughts wander,

With kindness acknowledge that thought,

Leave it where it is and return to the sensation of your breath.

The in-breath.

The out-breath.

What are you noticing at the moment?

What is your experience right now?

Start to bring your awareness to your inner experience.

What thoughts are going on in your mind?

Acknowledging those thoughts as mental event.

Turning towards any thoughts of discomfort or unpleasant feeling.

Acknowledging them,

Staying with those thoughts without trying to make them different from how you find them.

Using your breath to encapsulate any discomfort or unpleasant feeling.

With every breath in,

Your mind and body feel stronger.

With every breath out,

You are pushing the discomfort away.

In a way that feels easier to handle and cope with.

Anchoring yourself in the present moment with strength,

Awareness and confidence.

Using your breath as a tool to stand tall.

Filling it with soothing oxygen that will help you in the present moment.

To use our awareness,

Our kindness,

Our strength to face life with a new ally.

Who is always with us.

With every in-breath brings completeness.

With every out-breath brings acceptance.

Keeping your focus on your breath as you naturally breath in and out.

Feeling that strength take over.

That ability to cope.

That barrier from discomfort as you breath in and out.

Having that sense of completeness,

Of wholeness,

To be able to face how you are feeling,

What has been and what will be.

Because in the present moment,

You are anchored by your breath.

Which allows you to be the strongest that you can be.

By breathing in and out.

Taking this moment to think about when you find yourself in discomfort.

To use your breath to cleanse you,

To make you feel strong.

To give you that strength to cope.

Your breath is always with you.

Always pushing itself in.

And taking the toxins away.

Building your strength.

Building your focus.

Keeping you grounded.

With a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Start to bring your awareness to where you currently are.

Listening to the sounds.

Feeling the chair or the cushion behind you.

And gradually opening your eyes.

Ready to take on what might be.

As you breath in and you breath out.

Thank you for taking part in this meditation.

I hope it brings you strength and awareness.
