This is a centering, contemplative meditation that asks us to allow our higher self or the Divine or God or the Mystery to guide us, sculpt us and create us beyond what we can see for ourselves. Sometimes in life we may have trouble by not asking for help when we need it or even trying to figure out the answers all by ourselves. We may have a plan but the plan falls apart. We may even question if we are enough each day.

I invite you to join me today.

Finding yourself in a comfortable position,

Standing seated or lying down.

And when you are ready,

I will have you join me in this moment.

Taking a deep breath in,

Begin to center yourself.

Feel yourself connected and grounded to Mother Earth.

And feel her love and support moving up through you,

Holding you.

Close your eyes gently when you are ready.

I want you to imagine that you are a magnificent piece of stone,

Marble,

White,

Rough around the edges,

Chalky and waiting.

Now imagine that spirit's hands begin to touch you,

That creator approaches you as an unfinished piece of art,

Lovingly.

She feels all the rough edges,

All the burdens you carry,

All the pieces of you that make up this piece of marble.

And she smiles because she can see what the finished sculpture will look like.

Amazing.

God begins now to work on you,

Both hands,

Working like Michelangelo worked,

Seeing the form that lies inside the marble block.

In this moment,

Allow creator to chip away,

Sculpt,

Sand,

Mold and chisel you,

Knowing that he will create a more beautiful work of art out of you than you can on your own.

Now begin to meditate on these questions.

What part of yourself do you see fall away that no longer serves you?

Spend some time sitting with this question in this moment.

What parts of you do you see coming out more?

Defined that make you shine and become more who you are?

Allow yourself to sit in this space and see those parts of you that want to come out more into this world.

Now imagine that creator continues working on you,

Through you and around you.

And remember that we are all unfinished works of art,

Chiseled and sculpted one day at a time.

Remember to honor where you are now,

Where you have been,

Where you will be going.

And remember to honor those as well around you who are also in the process of becoming.

Becoming a statue of David or Venus de Milo or the thinker.

God ultimately is the sculptor of our souls,

Working with us until we are polished,

Shining and radiant.

Be patient,

Be kind and be with yourself and others.

Take a deep breath in and as you exhale allow this meditation to continue to work within you.

Knowing that as a piece of art,

No matter what stage you are at,

You are perfect in this moment.

Take another breath in,

Gently filling your lungs and as you exhale carry these words with you.

I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set her free.

May your day be blessed.

May you be blessed and may those around you be blessed as well.

Aho.
