Welcome.
Let's begin by closing the eyes and finding a comfortable position.
You may wish to lie down or be seated.
Whatever allows you to feel settled and gives you permission to let go and relax for these next moments together.
Become aware of the breath.
Begin to consciously deepen the breath.
Feel the sensation of the breath moving in and filling the body.
And the sensation of the breath moving out,
Allowing you to sink a little deeper.
Give yourself permission to set anything aside for this time together.
Any worries,
Planning,
Analyzing or trying to solve something in your life experience.
I invite you to take a breath and allow any of these thoughts,
Concerns to be placed on pause.
You may find that when we complete the weight of these things in your mind and your heart have lessened or even disappeared.
And if they haven't,
You can address them.
Bring your awareness to your feet.
Feel the feet becoming heavier,
Releasing tension by simply having your awareness on the feet.
Move up the body to the ankles and the lower legs.
And again,
Feel this heaviness or this sense of softening in the body.
Feel the knees and the upper legs letting go.
Sense the hips and the whole pelvis,
Almost like this feeling of unwinding is happening from the base of the spine,
Allowing the body to let go of this deep tension stored in the pelvis.
Bring your awareness to the belly.
And again,
With the breath,
Feel this softening of the belly,
Softening of the solar plexus and the chest.
Now bring the awareness to the back.
Move all the way from the low back to the mid back to the upper back and shoulder blades,
Feeling this sense of letting go with each exhalation.
Feel the shoulders and consciously relax the shoulders,
Maybe even feel them drop down with this sense of ease.
Feel the upper arms and elbows,
The forearms and the wrists releasing tension,
Any tightness in the tendons and muscles.
Bring the awareness now to the palms,
Fingers and thumbs,
The whole hands.
Feel as if the fingers are lengthening.
There is this sensation of spreading that happens as tension is released with every breath.
As you breathe in,
Become aware of the throat and the neck.
Feel the jaw relax,
Encouraging this feeling of spaciousness in the throat.
The space for the breath and for your own self-expression is widening,
Is growing inside,
Allowing you to soften a little more.
Feel the muscles of the face softening,
Especially around the eyes,
The mouth,
The forehead.
Move the awareness to the scalp and feel the sensation of spreading as this tension that is deeply held is released.
I'll now count down from 10,
Taking a breath with each count.
Feel the body filling with this great sense of ease and even well-being with each breath,
Consciously relaxing more and more as we count down together.
There is nothing for you to do in this moment.
Simply take a breath in and out.
Ten.
Nine.
Eight.
Seven.
Six.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Feel these words vibrating inside,
Merging with every cell of the body.
