
Forgiveness

This emotional healing meditation is designed to promote forgiveness for self and for others. Anger and frustration are natural emotions, just as natural as the process of moving through and beyond them. Forgiveness is not for other people; it is for you.
Transcript
Welcome to Canada Meditates Healing Meditation.
It may seem to you that I've really done nothing here,
That nothing's happened at all.
You may feel a bit more relaxed,
But I don't know if you'll notice any other changes.
I'd like you to notice though if you're surprised by anything else you might notice.
In a few minutes you'll begin to relax.
I don't know what you're going to notice along the way and it really doesn't matter.
All that matters is that you begin to relax.
And the best way to begin is just to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
Adjust whatever needs adjusting.
And I'd like you to notice how much more comfortable you can feel by taking one very big,
Satisfying,
Deep breath.
If your eyes are open you can leave them open while you breathe in,
And just allow them to close as you breathe out.
You can do that again if you like.
Open your eyes as you breathe in and allow them to close slowly as you breathe out.
Now look up when you breathe in,
All the way up,
And slowly let those eyelids close.
Once more,
Eyes looking up,
Breathing in,
And slowly closing your eyes,
Breathing out.
You can keep your eyes closed now and you might notice your breathing beginning naturally to slow down.
You might notice the weight of your eyelids and how comfortable they can feel.
It's easy to understand how this helps you begin to relax.
You might notice only the soft music.
You might notice only the sound of my voice.
The comfort of the chair or bed or wherever you are.
The sounds in the room.
The position of your hands.
The sensations in your arms or legs.
The sound of your breathing.
The thoughts that come and go.
Just letting them go.
Letting go of the effort it takes to be aware of the sound of my voice.
Even the effort it takes to be aware of which leg seems to relax more quickly or completely than the other may seem to be too much effort to bother making.
It's so much easier simply to relax and feel yourself drifting down.
Down toward a place of quietness.
A place of peaceful inner awareness.
Where even the effort it takes to be aware of my words may almost seem to be too much effort to bother making.
It is so much easier simply to relax and let go in your own time and in your own way.
Drifting down deeper and deeper now.
Every word I say now will take you deeper.
Every sound.
Every sensation will guide you deeper.
And as you drift even deeper.
My voice.
My words will drift with you to become part of your experience now.
And the deeper you go,
The better you feel.
And the better you feel,
The deeper you go.
Now,
Nothing bothers you.
Nothing affects you.
And nothing disturbs you.
All that matters now is the sound of my voice and knowing you are moving toward a deeply relaxing and interesting experience.
Imagine now standing at the top of a staircase.
It can be any staircase.
And maybe you can see the bottom of the ten steps.
Or maybe not.
It doesn't matter.
Just notice yourself at the top of the staircase.
See yourself and the step you're on.
And any others you like.
However you see it is fine.
And as you've probably guessed in a moment,
But not yet,
You're going to begin walking down the steps.
I'm going to count out loud from ten to zero.
So the first step will be ten.
And then we'll step down one step for one number until we arrive at zero.
Let's begin.
Here at the top of the stairs,
Feel yourself stepping down one step to nine.
Nine steps to the bottom.
You might already feel yourself letting go just a little more.
Step down now to eight.
Eight steps to the bottom.
And the deeper you go,
The better you feel.
And the better you feel,
The deeper you go.
Seven.
Seven steps to the bottom.
And as you drift even deeper,
My voice and my words will drift with you to become a part of your experience now.
Six.
Six steps to the bottom.
And as you drift even deeper,
You can use your unconscious mind as a resource that you can learn from and really have an experience.
Five.
Five steps to the bottom.
Halfway down.
Already deeply relaxed.
As nothing bothers you,
Nothing affects you.
Nothing disturbs you.
Four.
Four steps to the bottom.
Letting go even of the effort it may take to tell the position of the body as it begins to drift through time and space.
Three.
Three steps from the bottom.
Flowing down into a deep relaxation without the need for you to do anything at all.
Two.
Two steps from the bottom.
The unconscious mind drifts easily down.
I wonder if the deep relaxing restful heaviness is moved down your face into your mouth and jaw.
I don't know and it really doesn't matter.
All that matters is that you feel comfortable.
That's all.
One.
One step from the bottom.
The end of the steps is next.
And now,
Far away from you is the number zero.
Moving in closer and getting gradually bigger.
You might see it as a big smoky ring rolling toward you or as a brightly glowing circle.
I don't know how you'll see it or sense it,
But it doesn't matter.
The only thing that matters is that you know that when you pass through it,
Something wonderful will happen.
When you step off the last step,
You'll pass through the zero and emerge into an even deeper healing state on the other side.
As the last number comes even closer,
You realize just how big this giant zero is.
You can pass through it easily.
Here it comes.
Now,
Feel yourself drift away into the open space that expands boundlessly.
Infinitely out and away.
Effortless.
Weightless.
Drifting.
Open to all possibilities.
Blissful.
Nothing and everything.
You know the entire universe is made up of molecules and everyone has a chemical compound.
The Sun does,
The Earth,
The seas,
The air,
Plants and animals and you.
Imagine that all the chemicals in your brain,
Because that's all your brain is,
Is chemicals.
Imagine those chemicals were all represented in a soup,
In a big copper pot or cauldron or you can make it look like whatever you want.
It's your brain and it's your chemical soup.
Imagine now that above the big pot of soup is a long shelf and on this shelf are a number of bottles.
Old ones,
Tall ones,
Round ones and new ones.
Each of the bottles holds an emotion and one of them has tipped over and an emotion is dripping into the soup.
It's been dripping in for a while but today,
Right now,
Right here,
You can pick up that bottle and bring it down from the shelf.
Beside the pot of your chemical soup is an elegant basket lined with a fine white linen cloth making a nest for that bottle.
Shining above the basket is a warm light so you can easily read the label on the bottle.
Put that bottle of emotion in the basket under the light now.
It's illuminating to shed light on bottled emotions.
You may see the name of that emotion or you may not.
It doesn't matter.
Your unconscious mind knows what it is.
This is your chemical soup and everything that happens,
Happens within the soup anyway and any change you want to make can happen here if you ask it to.
And all the bottles add just enough of each ingredient to achieve balance for you because every cell in your brain and every cell in your body is connected in the chemical soup.
You are not just in it.
You are it and it's easy to balance emotions when you know how.
Now step back and in a moment you'll get a special ingredient from the basement.
So we'll need to go down the elevator.
Its doors are right behind you.
See the doors open and step into the elevator now and feel yourself going down even deeper.
Way down to where the special ingredient is kept.
Further down.
That's right.
All the way down.
Here now in the basement you can step off the elevator and step into this surprisingly spacious and inviting room.
There is just one bottle here on the shelf.
This bottle has a label that says forgiveness.
Take the bottle up the elevator with you and come back to the cauldron of chemical soup.
Slowly pour the bottle of forgiveness into the soup.
Notice the color or whatever you notice is fine.
This forgiveness is for others but it's also for you.
It's liberating to finally put down the weights of anger and resentment.
Let them slide right off and feel how freeing it is to leave that weight behind.
Stir the chemical soup as long as you need to so that all the chemicals blend in and form a gentle but permanent balance.
Your unconscious mind can look after the soup now.
All the chemicals working together to heal,
Restore,
Rejuvenate and energize your body and your brain.
You'll be surprised how much clarity you find with a well-balanced soup.
You In a moment we'll begin to return but before we do know that change has already started here and the change you need will go with you as you begin to climb up renewed and revitalized.
One rising up respecting the power within you to do this.
Two lifting up with you your newfound insights.
Three bringing all the resources with you as you move through time and space.
Four and five halfway back up becoming aware of a shift in consciousness.
Six feeling renewed and refreshed noticing any changes.
Seven coming back in a new way feeling stronger and better than before.
Eight coming back into the present now more alert more aware.
Nine here you are wide awake.
Ten eyes open feeling so much better than before.
