Get balanced. Utilizing breath and body awareness this guided meditaiton will help bring harmony between your inner feminine (lunar, yin, being) and masculine (solar, yang, doing) energies. You'll finish feeling more relaxed, centered and at ease within yourself.

Hello and welcome to this balancing meditation.
This meditation to harmonize your masculine and your feminine energies.
This meditation can be done in a seated position or lying down.
Just choose a position that feels most comfortable to you in this moment and just make sure that you can remain alert.
So as you settle in here I want you to tune into your breath and just notice how it's naturally flowing in and out.
Notice the pace of your breath.
Notice how long each inhalation and exhalation are.
Notice if you are fully completing each phase of the breath or if you are shortchanging yourself by not inhaling or exhaling completely.
And then begin to slow your breath down.
Don't create any strain around this just invite your breath to lengthen out both the inhales and exhales.
And deepen your breath as well.
So feel it moving a little deeper down into your body expanding your belly maybe touching down into your pelvis even.
And be sure as you expand your breathing in these ways that you're not exerting any excess effort.
Just let your breath be relaxed.
Many spiritual traditions see the right side of the body reflecting the more masculine solar yang or doing quality of energy.
And the left side of the body on the other hand reflects the more feminine lunar yin or being quality of energy.
We're gonna explore this theory throughout the rest of our meditation with the intention of invoking inner masculine and feminine energy balance.
When both are balanced we have access to their gifts and can utilize them to enrich our lives and express more fully our wholeness in the world.
So to start bring your awareness to the tip of your nose and just see if you can feel the breath moving in and out through your nostrils.
Which nostril is more open?
Which one is taking in more air?
If the right nostril is more open your masculine energy or your more solar yang energy right now is a bit stronger.
And if your left nostril is more open your feminine or more lunar yin energy is stronger in this moment.
And these energies are always in flux.
They're always changing.
So at any moment your feminine energy can be more dominant or your masculine.
So we're just tuning in to which is more dominant in this moment.
And there's nothing you need to change.
You are simply noticing which energy is more active right now.
Good.
So now take a few moments to scan the right side of your body.
Notice how it feels.
And even see if you can come up with a couple words to describe this side of your body.
Does your right side feel light or heavy?
Is it sore or tense?
Can you feel your breath moving through the right side of your body?
Just spending a little time connecting to this half of your body your masculine side,
Your masculine energy.
Perfect.
Now shift your awareness to the left side of your body.
And what can you sense here?
Does it feel different from your right side?
And what words would you use to describe this half of your body?
Are there any sore spots?
Can you feel your breath moving through the left side of your body?
Now using your intention I'd like you to breathe in through your left nostril and feel the breath filling up the entire left side of your body.
And then breathe out through your left nostril and feel the left side of your body emptying out.
Now switch and breathe in through your right nostril and feel the breath filling up the whole right side of your body.
And then feel the breath filling up the whole right side of your body.
And then release and breathe out through your right nostril and feel the right side of your body empty out.
And let's repeat this.
Breathe in through your left nostril filling the left side of your body.
Breathe out through the left nostril and empty the left side of your body.
Breathe in through your right nostril fill the right side of your body and exhale out the right nostril and empty the right side of your body.
Keep going just like this for the next couple minutes on your own.
And if your mind wanders simply just come back to your breath and start again on each side of your body.
Great.
Now wherever you're at with this breathing practice I want you to exhale out completely and then feel your breath coming in through both nostrils.
And feel your breath flowing out through both nostrils.
And then let your awareness spread out to your whole body again.
And just notice how you feel.
Then zoom your attention into your spine and let your breath move along your spine as you breathe in and out.
Feel both sides of your body,
Your inner masculine and feminine energies balanced in harmony.
Your ability to do and just be in balance in harmony.
Now bring your hands to press together at the front of your chest in what's called Anjali Mudra.
This is a mudra of balance of bringing together these two powerful forces that lie within us.
Take a full breath in through your nose and a complete breath out through your mouth.
And then let your awareness spread out to your whole body.
And then let your awareness spread out through your nose and a complete breath out through your mouth.

I hope that you feel inwardly balanced and a sense of calm by harmonizing these two powerful energies that exist within each and every one of us.
