The four second positive pause.

Have a look at your trigger list in your journal and choose one of the triggers that you find most difficult and keep this in mind as you practice.

This exercise will help you to find and feel the pause at the top of your breath.

Please make your inhalation and your exhalation as slow and deep as you can.

So sit in an upright but comfortable position and close your eyes.

Take your thumb and your forefinger together.

Breathe in through your nose slowly and deeply and hold that breath for four seconds.

This is the pause.

Now slowly exhale through your mouth.

Imagine you are pressing pause in your mind.

Notice that when you exhale there is a natural sense of letting go.

The body effortlessly releases any unwanted tensions.

Repeat this four times and return to it often.

You can use this technique anytime that you feel overwhelmed,

Stressed or irritated.

Simply find your pause and then choose how you wish to respond.

You can choose a response that brings harmony and peace to yourself and those around you.

You now choose how you wish to respond to any trigger in your life.

Remember your choices matter.
