Hello and welcome.
It's Faye here.
I'm here to guide you through quick realignment and productivity boosting breathing practice.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position.
Or,
Perhaps if you've been sitting all day,
Find a place to stand up.
Become aware of the ground beneath you.
If you're standing,
Perhaps you begin to shift the weight evenly in your feet.
Begin to feel the connection to the ground beneath you.
If you're sitting,
Feel where your sit bones are pressing in.
Root down through your feet and your sit bones as you begin to take up your physical space.
Create length and space in the spine by sitting or standing tall,
Inhaling,
Shrugging the shoulders up to your ears.
And as you exhale,
Slowly squeeze them down your back.
Create the same space and length in your spine along the base of your neck and the crown of your head.
Your hands can be wherever comfortable,
But I encourage you to have your palms facing up towards the sky and your fingers spreading apart,
Ready to receive and nourish your physical presence and mind.
Release any tension or anxiety that may be hiding in the face and jaw.
Begin to draw in feelings of gratitude,
For you have set aside the perfect amount of time to reconnect and refresh yourself.
We'll begin with a few cleansing breaths in through the nose and out the mouth.
Take a deep inhale through the nose,
Then exhale through the mouth,
Releasing a big sigh.
Find another deep inhale through the nose and open the mouth to release another big sigh out.
We'll begin the lion's breath technique by exhaling and sticking the tongue out towards the chin and making a hh sound.
Lion's breath is used to relieve tension and stress in the entire face,
Including the tongue and jaw.
It's intended to be fun and bring a little joy and silliness to your day.
The first lion's breath,
Inhale deeply,
Exhale strongly through the mouth,
Sticking the tongue out towards your chin and making the hh sound.
The second lion's breath,
Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale loudly out the mouth.
Continue to find this breath at your own pace for two more rounds.
If it's comfortable for you,
You can tilt your head back as you inhale and exhale,
Sticking out your tongue.
Perhaps you even want to add a little more fun by with each exhale,
Roaring like a loud and proud lion.
Begin to take a few deep breaths and relax your face and throat.
Take note of your breath and how you feel.
Can you breathe more deeply and fully?
Do you feel a little more energized?
I'll leave you with this.
You are fierce,
Knowledgeable,
And fully equipped to take on the remaining challenges of the day.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
Namaste.
