A short and simple breathing technique to help ease stress and anxiety. This can help you improve focus and promote feelings of relaxation. You can use this counting breath technique anytime you're struggling with overthinking or even falling asleep. By practicing mindful awareness of your breath and the counting you may naturally start to ease your overactive mind and body. If you enjoy this, be sure to check out the extended "Calming Counting Meditation & Mindful Body Awareness" also on my page.

Hello and welcome.

It's Faye here and I'm here to lead you through a counting breath meditation.

I'll guide you through ten full cycles with the cycle being one full inhale in through the nose and then one full exhale out through the nose and then once we reach to ten full cycles you'll start again and begin at one.

I'll allow this time and space for you to continue this counting breath at your own pace.

If your mind begins to wander at all during this practice know that that's okay and know that that's what the brain and mind naturally do.

So when you notice your mind beginning to wander or if you lose count simply return back to counting from one and continue counting to ten.

We'll start this practice by finding a comfortable seat allowing the hands to rest comfortably in your lap.

Allow your shoulders to grow tall creating space in the spine emptying all the breath from your lungs.

We'll inhale for our first count inhaling in for one and exhale one inhale two and exhale two inhale three and exhale three inhale four and exhale four inhale five and exhale five inhale six and exhale six inhale seven and exhale seven inhale eight and exhale eight inhale nine and exhale nine inhale ten and exhale ten continue this counting breath at your own pace starting from one and if you lose count return back to one and start again.

Begin to finish up your last cycle of breath here and allowing the counting to fall away and allow your breath to simply be present in your body.

Perhaps you take one hand or both hands up to the heart space here taking a moment of gratitude for the time that you spent being with your body being with your breath in the present moment and knowing that you can return to this practice at any time.

Take a big breath in through the nose filling all the way up and out through the mouth a slow and even exhale releasing letting everything go.

Two more times just like this big rich inhale in through the nose and out through the mouth sigh it out.

Last one making it the best one yet big full inhale in through the nose experiencing the fullness of the breath and sigh it out through the mouth allowing the eyes to blink open if they were closed welcoming yourself back into this moment.

Thank you for meditating with me today.

Namaste
