This meditation is intended to help you reset and refresh your mind if you find yourself overthinking, engaging in a lot of rumination, or even feeling drowsy or fatigued. You might use this practice when you're feeling like you're having a bad moment and just need to restart your day. You are guided to visualize water washing over the top of your head, washing away mental fatigue, anxiety, and stress. Feel free to continue the mental shower for as long as you need.

Find a comfortable position.

Notice where you're being supported by your chair and see if you need to shift or move to just get 1% more comfortable.

Soften or close the eyes fully and bring your attention to your breath.

Notice the quality of the breath.

Are you holding?

Is the breath short and quick?

Or perhaps your breath is slow and relaxed.

See if you can start to slow down your inhale and lengthen the duration of your exhale.

Notice the quality of the mind.

Are there thoughts running through your head?

Or maybe there are no thoughts.

Maybe you're simply feeling tired or fatigued.

Acknowledge these ruminating thoughts or feelings of drowsiness and see if you can gently allow them to float to the top of your head.

Let them be there exactly as they are.

Noticing any sensations you may feel.

Maybe you notice a buzzing or tingling sensation or nothing at all and that's okay too.

Start to bring to mind an image of a gentle stream of water flowing over the top of your head.

Imagine with each drop of water it is washing away these ruminating thoughts or feelings of drowsiness.

This water is pure.

This water is refreshing.

This water is naturally helping you to reset your mind.

Play with where and how the water is flowing.

Maybe you need to increase the flow of the water or maybe you need to focus the water on a particular place where your thoughts or sensations are the strongest.

Perhaps you need to reduce the flow of water to a soft trickle that seeps into all the cracks and crevices of your mind,

Clearing out what is no longer serving you.

Wherever you are in your mental shower,

Allow this short break to be enough for this moment.

Trust that you can take the rest from here on your own and remember that you're always welcome to return to this practice.

We'll take three final cleansing breaths together,

Emptying all the air out from your lungs.

We'll take a nice slow and even inhale in through the nose,

Breathing in that fresh clean air.

Open the mouth,

Exhale and sigh out all that no longer serves you.

Beautiful.

Two more times just like this.

Big rich inhale in through the nose,

Filling all the way up.

Open the mouth and sigh out any stale or old air.

Final breath together.

Take a nice big breath in,

Filling all the way up.

Open the mouth and exhale,

Releasing and letting go.

Whenever you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and return to being in this present moment.

Thank you for meditating with me.

I think it refreshed my mind so much that i opened my eyes and had a moment of seeing things in my surrounding that i never saw before making it feel like a strange place. It was nice to focus on the the thoughts being washed away.
