This is an Internal Family Systems practice. In this practice, you will be guided in having a check-in with your parts. This practice is designed to support connection and to help the development of a relationship with your parts. This is a practice that is suitable for those just starting with parts work and also for those with an established practice. It is my hope that you will find this practice beneficial.

Welcome.

This is an internal family systems parts check-in.

The goal of this practice is to simply support a shift into connection with your internal family system.

This will be a brief practice so that it can be accessible to you in a busy and hectic life,

In a busy and hectic world.

So just take a few minutes to turn your attention away from the outside world and drop into your internal world.

You can close your eyes if that feels right,

Either partially or fully.

Maybe finding a comfortable seat.

Maybe taking a few slow,

Deep breaths.

Just bringing your attention to this present moment.

Just landing here.

So if you're feeling that curiosity and you're open to listening,

Just go ahead and let your parts know that.

Let them know that you're here.

That you've carved out this time to be in connection,

To develop understanding,

And to build that self-to-part relationship.

Go ahead and scan your body,

And as you do so,

Take notice of any parts who are trying to get your attention and where they reside in your body.

What are the feelings and thoughts that these parts are sharing with you?

Notice what parts are present now that you've just clicked on this meditation.

Are there any parts that are wondering about this process?

Are they mostly curious and excited?

Or do they have any concerns or questions?

If it feels right,

Invite them all to take a seat around you,

Surrounding you so you can be in connection with whichever parts are here.

One at a time,

Take a moment to invite any part that needs attention to come forward and see what you notice about it.

Maybe what does it look like?

What does it feel like in your body?

Or what emotion is it carrying?

Or what thoughts is it sharing with you?

And then check how you feel towards this part.

Do you feel curiosity or compassion or connection with this part?

Go ahead and send those emotions to the part in whatever way feels meaningful to you.

Spend some time welcoming and connecting with it.

And ask the part,

What do you want or need from me right now?

What do you want to tell me or want me to tell you?

As you receive this information,

Offer thanks to the part for communicating with you.

And share your open heart and extend your self-energy to this part,

Whatever that means to you.

As you say goodbye to it,

Letting it know maybe when you'll check back in or that you will check back in with it.

And invite it to connect with you again in the future.

And continue to scan this circle,

The circle of wise collaborators that is around you.

Sending them all gratitude for their willingness to show up for you,

For their hard work,

For their diligence,

And always trying to keep you safe.

And notice if there are any parts that are eager,

That want to have a little bit deeper time with you.

Maybe seeing if you can offer that to them right now.

Just sitting across at whatever distance feels right for your system.

And asking the part to share with you whatever it needs you to know.

And just going around the circle,

Right?

What do you need me to know?

What has been happening?

And as your parts continue to share with you,

Continue to offer them gratitude.

And also notice if there's anything else that you'd like to send them.

Any other feeling,

Any other message that you would like them to receive from you.

And if there is,

Go ahead and send that now.

Take this time,

Take this moment.

And take a few moments now to feel yourself fully embodied in this moment.

Self-energy is the energy inside you that is pure,

Unconditional love,

Non-judgmental,

And without agenda.

It is confident and courageous.

Feel yourself connected to yourself.

Those that have come before you.

And those that you are in connection with right now.

Coming back home to your true self.

Noticing how it feels in your body.

This is a gift of inner differentiation.

The process by which we can connect and cultivate relationships with our parts.

And in doing so,

Have this space of self-energy that is always present.

So just check in one last time,

Right?

Is there anything that is unfinished?

Anything that is unheard?

Anyone that needs more?

And before you say goodbye to your parts,

Just goodbye for now,

What would you like to share with them about your experience today?

And also about maybe checking in on them again.

So once that feels complete,

I'll invite you to invite your parts to leave the circle if it feels right.

And then to begin coming back to the space that you're in.

Inhaling.

And exhaling.

Maybe one more time.

Inhaling.

And exhaling.

And you're welcome to stay here for as long or as little as you like.

But we're going to call this practice concluded.
