In this meditation,
We'll be focusing on welcoming the Shekhinah,
The divine feminine,
Into our lives.
While I come at this principle from a Jewish perspective,
Anyone can welcome this divine presence into their lives.
The Shekhinah literally translates in Hebrew to dwelling within,
And while it can be found in Jewish mysticism,
This feminine presence is usually welcomed at least once a week in a candle lighting prayer at the beginning of the Sabbath or the Shabbos,
Which begins a time of deep rest and nourishment.
This feminine face of God,
Much like connecting with the womb space,
It isn't about being a woman connecting with a woman-led principle.
Anyone can welcome the Shekhinah into their lives,
Especially during times when intense rest,
Care,
Support,
And calm are needed.
So let's close our eyes and we'll focus on our breath together.
Let's light our internal Shabbos candles.
Is there anywhere in your life where you feel like you could just use an extra dose of calm right now,
An extra dose of nourishment?
Think about this now and really honor where you're at.
The Shekhinah will not judge.
I want you to imagine a golden white light around you,
So expansive.
You don't need to actually feel anything for this to be true.
Just imagine it is true.
If you can sense it,
See if you can sense an overwhelming warmth and overwhelming kindness.
That's the Shekhinah.
That's our Shabbos Queen.
So we're going to call in this presence with a prayer in English and then I'll recite a prayer in Hebrew that aligns with the Shekhinah in her native tongue,
Her native language,
So to speak.
And then we'll have a moment of peace together.
Let's begin.
Dear Shekhinah,
Divine feminine face of God,
We ask you to grace us with your peaceful,
Quiet nature,
Your strength.
Fill us with your beauty,
Your wisdom,
Your grace.
Grant us the strength to sit in your stillness,
To take time for rest in the softness in your comforting and comfortable heart.
Shabbos Queen,
Restore wholeness to our souls on this day,
In this week,
In our lives.
And remind us that we can connect with you just as easily as saying your name,
Shekhinah.
Soften our hardness.
Center us from within the chaos we find ourselves in.
Be with us in our praises.
We thank you.
Amen.
And now let's do a prayer in Hebrew.
As I pray,
Just continue to invoke this wise feminine presence inside yourself and know that she's with you.
Know that she's guiding you towards a rock of safety and calm.
Let's sit in her silence together.
Let her holiness nourish you,
Remind you of your own holiness.
Many blessings as you continue to welcome this divine presence,
This Shekhinah,
Into your life.
She's always here for you.
