Okay,
So welcome everyone.
I invite you to see what is the position that makes your body feel as comfortable as it can be.
As a way to settle in,
I invite you to open your senses to their spontaneous functioning.
Maybe noticing the sounds around you.
There might even be sounds within you.
Lights,
Colors,
Or forms may be shining through your eyes,
Even if your eyes are closed.
Even with the eyes closed,
You may certainly notice,
Like nuances in the colors,
How dark or bright different spots are.
You welcome the smells and tastes,
And the sensations where the air is touching your skin.
The sensation where the clothes are touching your skin.
And the sensation where the body is touching the surfaces that are providing support.
See if it is possible to stay with just sensing.
Your brain is not able to think and feel at the same time.
So the kind invitation is,
Is it possible to spend just a few moments simply feeling.
And if it feels right,
I invite you to gently scan your body to see if there is any unnecessary tension that you might be storing.
I will mention some body parts,
And the invitation is that if you notice that you are doing something in that area that may be stopped,
See if it's worth it.
Let us start in the jaw,
Mouth,
And teeth.
Are you clenching your teeth?
Is there any activity in your mouth that maybe may just be invited to stop?
On the other hand,
If you notice that there is some tension,
But that tension seems somehow necessary,
Doesn't seem to want to go away,
Please don't insist.
Only if there is something simple,
Like unclenching your teeth or loosening your jaw a little bit,
Please feel free to do it.
Sensations everywhere in your face,
Cheekbones,
Nostrils,
Eyes,
Forehead,
Scalp.
See if it is possible not to go into thinking.
Back of the head,
Neck,
And throat.
Last shoulder,
All the way down through the arm,
Elbow,
Wrist,
And hand.
Then here,
Notice if maybe you might be keeping some contraction or tension that as you meet it,
It might show up as unnecessary and then just be released.
Right shoulder,
Follow the stream of sensations all the way into the hand and fingers,
Torso,
And upper back.
Belly,
And lower back.
Left hip,
All the way down through the left leg.
Right hip,
All the way down through the leg,
Knee,
Ankle,
Foot,
And toes.
And I invite you now to experience your whole body as sensation.
We have many conceptual images about the body,
About the skin as a boundary for the body,
The different body parts.
But see if you can just for a few moments forget about all that and simply meet the body as an experience.
This vibrant energy that animates every cell in your body all the way down to every atom and molecule.
And it's now here,
Expressing itself through you in this very moment.
In particular,
If your day has been heavy,
The burden of grief has been hovering in your experience,
Or any challenging emotion or even event is somehow overwhelming you.
I invite you to bring one or two hands in the region of the heart and just feel that sense of warmth.
We are opening some space and giving some time for whatever pain might be there to be welcomed.
There is nothing here we are trying to make happen.
We are not trying to fix,
Change,
Or alter anything.
We are just meeting,
Greeting,
And welcoming.
See if it is possible to gently let go of expectations,
Gently set free any attempt to make the experience different from what it is.
And just rest back in the truth of this moment.
Sensations may arise.
Emotions may arise.
The mind can still be running and generating thoughts.
See if it is possible to still rest.
The surfaces are taking care of your body.
The aliveness is not something that you need to create.
Is it possible to allow yourself to simply have nothing to do,
Nowhere to be,
Just be?
Nothing to figure out.
Nothing to solve.
And in this silence,
It may happen that some intention arises.
Something that from essential nature is willing to be done through you.
Or a deep prayer that in this very moment feels right to call forward.
If nothing emerges,
That's okay.
But one day,
Or maybe even now,
Something might emerge.
Something that feels right to do.
Maybe tiny or very big.
It may be about yourself or about others.
And it's something that can remain with you.
Even now as we slowly start coming back to a fully awake state of consciousness.
If your eyes are closed,
Maybe you may want to simply and slowly open them.
You may or may not be feeling the way you would like to feel.
And yet,
I invite you to find a drop of gratitude for having spent some time with yourself.
Whatever that meant and whatever that came out as an experience.
I am grateful for our time together.
Thank you.
