The subject tonight is peace.

True peace.

That's what I'm interested in.

And that's what Yoga Nidra is all about.

So not the kind of peace that comes and goes.

Not the kind of peace that disappears when something goes wrong or there's a difficult life challenge on the table.

But that unwavering peace at the core of our being.

That the more often we stop and get really,

Really quiet so that we can know and access that peace,

The more that that inherent peace shows up.

Not just when things are going right or when things are going our way,

But it's there in the background through all of the busyness and all of the challenges that we face.

So I'm inviting you right now to stop and to drop and let's take a really nice deep releasing breath together so that we are all dropping together.

Which before we do that breath,

Just to say that when we all come with a commitment to really being here and an intention to stay,

It creates a really sacred,

Powerful container where that peace can arise.

So let's breathe right down into your abdomen and then hunch and squeeze your shoulders right up to your ears and then let your body go.

Even a sigh of relief and in your own time and at your own pace,

Let your body breathe those really low,

Slow,

Releasing breaths and really take your time.

No rush,

Slowing everything right down.

No need to get to the next moment.

Let next,

The whole idea of next,

Let that fall away.

Just being right here,

Right now.

As the energies of your mind-body system settle down naturally,

You don't need to do anything,

But let that breath flow with ease.

Your body knows how to breathe,

So let that breath go with just the lightest touch of effort,

Right down into your belly,

Tummy,

Rising as you breathe in and then really get a sense of the relief as you exhale with a long and soft sigh.

Just bringing your willingness to letting it all go.

I'm not asking you to control your mind.

I'm not asking you to make anything happen.

But I'm inviting you to drop into the very simple and completely effortless space of just being.

Just being.

As you continue to let your body take as many of those deep releasing breaths as it needs.

To just let it all go.

All the holding,

All the trying,

All the doing.

Just being here is enough.

And see if,

Just for this moment,

You can stay with the feeling of your breath.

Letting it settle down now so that body is breathing naturally.

And you're not controlling your breath.

Not changing your breath.

But just noticing the feeling as body breathes all by itself.

Can you feel that very subtle sensation?

I'm not asking you to imagine it or to think about it.

But just to receive the direct,

Immediate feeling of the breath.

Expect your mind to wander and let that be okay.

No judgement.

At each moment of noticing that you have got lost in your thinking mind or you've fused into sleep,

That moment of noticing is an invitation to remember that you are aware,

Present and to rest as that.

Let the weight of your whole body fall into the ground or whatever surface you're resting on.

And let your body be held,

Cradled in the very safe,

Gentle space of just being.

And feel the inside of your mouth.

The inner walls of your mouth.

The sensation of the tongue.

Hinges of the jaw loosening.

And your lower jaw falling softly away from the upper jaw.

A softening of the throat.

You don't have to do any of this.

Let this be a time of allowing.

Allowing life to unfold moment by moment.

Just as it is.

I'm not asking you to control your mind or to change anything.

But how would it be right now to be fully present for every mood,

For every condition of mind or body.

To meet it directly.

To give everything space.

To be as it is.

And let there be a softening of the whole face.

The skin.

The eyes softening right back.

The eyebrows.

Resting.

Space between eyebrows.

Softening open.

And letting the forehead smooth.

The feeling behind eyes expanding.

Pouring into the wide open space of just being.

Brain releasing its weight.

A softening of the scalp.

And letting the back of the head.

The is of the skull.

Back of the neck.

Releasing and letting go.

And letting go.

Absolutely no effort is required to be.

No effort.

And if you leave,

Trust that you'll notice.

And that that noticing is a special moment.

A moment of awareness.

And an invitation to return.

To just be here.

Wide open and free.

Let the contents of the head pour like liquid into this welcoming space that you are.

Emptying out.

Having a standing everything over.

Nothing that you need to figure out or understand.

But honouring the commitment to resting in simply being.

Naturally aware.

And I'll call you back again and again.

Without any judgement.

Let the weight of your body drop a little deeper.

Welcome the feeling right hand.

The immediate sensation back of right hand.

The palm of the hand.

Let the sensation come to you.

Right palm.

The current sensation.

Thumb.

Second finger.

Third.

Fourth.

Little finger.

Resting open.

Wrist.

Forearm.

Forearm.

Forearm.

Right side of your chest.

Right side of the back.

The whole right side of body.

Releasing and letting go.

Releasing and letting go.

You are aware.

You are awareness itself.

You are awareness itself.

Always at peace.

All ready at rest.

Let yourself drop just a little deeper into the sweetness of your own being.

And now welcoming the feeling left hand.

Dropping the label.

The name.

And welcoming the immediate feeling.

Back of left hand.

Thumb.

Let that feeling come to you.

No effort.

Thumb.

Second finger.

Fourth.

Little toe.

The whole left side of body.

Releasing and letting go.

Whole spine.

Resting open.

Tailbone sinking down.

Whole body.

This whole body invited to empty out.

Let this be an undoing.

Of all that's ready to drop away.

No longer needed.

Just letting it all go.

Trusting that you remain.

When everything drops away,

You remain.

Eternally present.

Knowing.

Being.

Know yourself as that.

Beyond.

Before.

Behind.

All that is.

Intimately and utterly at one.

With all that arises within itself.

And yet.

Untouched.

Unblemished.

If something should arise in the realm of mind or body to distract you just welcome that distraction as part of the is-ness of this moment right now.

You cannot get this wrong.

There's nothing that you need to recreate.

Let before and everything that goes with it fall away.

Even one moment ago.

Surrendering.

Even any trying.

To get anywhere else other than right here.

I'm inviting you now to rest here.

In the sacred space of your own being.

That space where you just are.

And everything just is.

Fully present.

With all that arises moment by moment.

Whilst leaving it alone.

Nothing added,

Let yourself bathe in the peace of your own being.

Every cell of this body soaking up that undisturbable peace.

Just for a moment,

Give up any remaining trying.

Surrendering and being wide open to a peace that's yours.

A peace that doesn't belong to anything or anyone outside of yourself.

An uncaused peace.

A peace that is not a result of something.

A peace that you don't have to deserve or earn.

Nobody has more of this peace than yourself.

Just an openness to this possibility is enough.

Feel this whole body bathing in that healing balm.

Every cell.

Every organ.

Every muscle.

Breathing up that sweetness.

Feel the aliveness that's here.

The beating of your heart.

The waves of vibration.

The pulsation of this body vibrantly alive.

Sensing the ground beneath you.

The earth beneath that.

And let your body breathe slowly and deeply again.

Take your time inhaling like you have all the time in the world.

To really feel,

To savour and to drink in every drop.

Like every cell of this body is breathing.

Drinking in that nourishment.

Low into your belly and wide into your chest.

The air that we breathe here in abundance and freely given.

Just really feeling that fresh life giving breath.

And in these remaining moments call forward a prayer for your life.

And let that come to you without referring to your mind.

Just a deep felt sense of what really matters to you.

And listening with whole body to what wants to be heard.

That voice of your truth that so often gets neglected in the busyness of life.

But trust it that whatever message it has is leading you back to this undisturbable peace at the core of your being.

And my prayer for each and every one of us is that we know that peace in the midst of our everyday lives.

In the heart of our greatest challenges.

Thank you for being here and sharing this sacred space.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

And above all,

May you be at peace.

I'm going to invite you now to either continue to rest in that peaceful space or to let your body move if and when it's ready and to let that happen naturally.

So that you stay anchored in this ground of peace that is before anything.

Before you are anything.

The peace that you just are.

And meet this mind body system with kindness and gentleness.

So thank you,

Friends,

For bringing your full presence.

I wish you a very peaceful sleep this evening.

Thank you.
