This meditation is designed for you to use to start your day.

You can practice before you even get out of bed.

It just takes a few minutes to connect the mind and the body.

If you plan to do this meditation after you're ready for the day,

Just find a quiet space to take a few moments to yourself before rushing off to do your daily tasks.

Whether you are seated or laying down,

Close your eyes or have a soft focus out in front of you.

If you find it helpful to have a candle,

A picture,

Or something to gaze upon,

Feel free to do so.

Now that you're settled,

Take a few deep breaths.

Breathe in through your nostrils and feel your abdomen.

Feel your stomach push outward by placing your hand on your belly.

Exhale through your mouth slowly.

Feel the abdomen empty with this breath,

Leaving your body.

Your belly button should pull inward toward the spine as you exhale.

Next,

Inhale through your nose and fill your body with the energy of your breath.

This time as you exhale through your mouth,

Feel free to make an audible sound,

Releasing the breath slowly.

Take another deep breath in,

Counting to four as you breathe.

This time,

Pause and hold the breath for a count of eight.

Slow down the exhale and try to release it to a count of 12.

Really,

Really emptying it out.

If you don't get to 12,

That's okay.

As you practice,

This will improve.

Last big breath,

Same as the first.

Breathe in through the nostrils,

Making sure you have a good belly breath happening.

Exhale and feel the calm and peace throughout your body.

Using any of these breathing techniques,

Let's set up the day for success.

Continue your favorite breathing method as you wrap up our meditation with these affirmations.

I am ready to start my day with intention.

I am giving my body a few moments of attention so it will help carry me through today's tasks.

I am grateful for the day that lies ahead of me.

I am ready for today to reveal itself to me.

Today will be a day full of peace,

Joy and love.

Take a few seconds to focus on one that really speaks to you right now in this moment.

Feel free to take any or all of these affirmations with you as you begin your day.

Slowly open your eyes,

Blink a few times to allow them to come back into focus.

Wiggle your fingers and toes to connect the body and mind with intention.

It is important to move slowly from your seat or bed as you finish your morning practice and prepare for the day ahead of you.

My reminder to you is that every day is a great day to have a great day.

Ahhhhh....this is the perfect start to my day. It is short, and gives me just enough calm to begin my day with intention. I appreciate and enjoy Deannaโ€™s calm, soothing voice, as well as the quiet, simple background music. Deannaโ€™s short meditation sessions are just what I need to FINALLY embrace and incorporate meditation into my life.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•
