The harmonium guides you in the beginning and end, with silence in the middle, as you reflect on your individual purpose in life and how you can capture the essence of this purpose. Tapping into the sensations of simply 'knowing' help foster commitment to your dharma.

Purpose.

Perhaps the biggest question any of us could ask,

What is the purpose of life?

In Indian philosophy,

It can be broken down into two offerings,

Our universal Dharma,

Where we are of service to others.

When we are in service,

Our best self shines through and our individual Dharma.

This is where we get stuck.

We first ask ourselves,

How do we find it?

And then the next question is,

How do we make it happen?

Do you know that feeling when your heart and gut are in sync?

When there's not a doubt in your mind and you just know something is right?

What is the feeling to watch out for when searching for your individual Dharma?

Begin looking within your hobbies and what brings you joy.

Move into roles that highlight your unique talents.

And then when you stumble upon something that lights you up,

No matter how seemingly impossible at first,

Hold on to it.

What's your ticket?

If you have the means to jump in,

Go for it.

If you do not have the means to do exactly what you want,

Please understand this.

It is possible to grasp its essence.

And then this is where you must get creative.

Supportive family and friends,

Flexible work schedules,

Changing your habits,

Changing your lifestyle,

Asking what's the minimum time required to bring this into your life.

Ask yourself the hard questions,

Then move slowly toward resolving them.

I would like to offer,

However,

That all of us to some degree are already living our purpose,

Being a kindred spirit for others,

Contributing to your community,

Taking care of your family,

Loving and being loved unconditionally.

While these may not be your overriding purpose,

They deserve acknowledgement and respect.

Because without you,

Those people would not be the same.

And that is a comfort to our hearts.

Now take a couple of minutes to ourselves.

You may choose to sit,

Lie down or journal.

Reflect on a time when you just knew.

What did you know?

What was it about?

Where was the sensation in your body?

What did it feel like?

How did it make you feel?

What did it feel like?

What did it feel like?

What did it feel like?

What did it feel like?

What did it feel like?

What did it feel like?

What did it feel like?

Reflect your awareness away from wherever you went back to your body right here.

And then try to simply commit to using your experience just now,

Remembering what you knew,

The sensations that arose,

And simply committing to using that as your barometer for making decisions.

It will not only help you on your path to discovering your Dharma,

But it will change your life in the process.

Namaste.
