A guided meditation that helps beginners in meditation, and people who often feel distracted or ungrounded, learn about mindfulness and how the process of mindfulness allows you to remain present, relaxed, and enter spontaneous states of meditation. This short guided mindfulness meditation helps you become more present, aware, and conscious of your surroundings, the things and people around you and their influence on you, your own thoughts, emotions, actions and reactions. Our capacity to be present defines the quality of our life experience.  The more present, aware, and conscious we become, the more capacity we have to enjoy our lives and to bring about the life experiences and results that are most meaningful to us. The more you practice mindfulness in your every day life, the more benefits you will enjoy in your relationship to yourself, others, money, health, success, and other dimensions of your being and life.

Meditation,

Mindfulness.

Find a comfortable place where you can sit on a chair or on the ground or simply lay down.

Close your eyes.

Take an inhale through your nose,

Exhaling out of your mouth,

Intending to release all tensions,

Physical,

Mental,

Emotional.

Creating space,

Openness in the body through the breath.

Now allow your attention to move freely.

Whether you become interested in sounds around you or any other external phenomena taking place in your environment,

Simply become aware,

Being completely present to where your attention wanders.

If you find yourself pulled internally in physical sensations,

Thoughts,

Emotions,

Feelings,

Simply become aware that your attention has wavered,

That it is moving from one object to another.

Watching mindfully where your attention goes.

Being completely present from moment to moment as to the object of your awareness,

What is pulling your attention.

Noticing the thoughts,

The emotions,

The physical sensations,

The sounds around you,

The temperature in the room.

Allowing for your attention to move from object to object without any judgment,

Simply watching the movement of your awareness.

Watching what captures your attention from moment to moment.

Remaining aware,

Continue observing,

Exploring how awareness moves from object to object,

Watching in the present moment the content of your consciousness.

You are never identifying or disidentifying from any of these movements or any of these objects.

You are simply noticing your attention and where your awareness goes.

Being completely attentive to the movement of your awareness in the present,

Interested,

Investigating,

Watching without judgment.

As you maintain this state of mindfulness,

Slowly begin to deepen your breath.

Watching the process of deepening your breath,

Coming back inside the body,

Wiggling your fingers and your toes,

Being mindful and gently opening your eyes.

As someone with ADHD it was lovely to do a meditation that allowed my brain to wander whilst also not letting me get too wrapped up in anything.
