This guided visualization helps us to detach from our anxiety and release it with compassion. We often forget that we are not our anxiety - it's just part of our experience. If you're anxious and overwhelmed, you're in the right place.

A welcome,

Sweet one.

This is a guided visualization meditation for releasing anxiety.

We'll do this by giving it a name,

A shape,

A color,

Or maybe a face.

We take a step back to see that we are not our anxiety.

It's merely a part of our experience right now.

All you need in this moment is to get comfortable.

Sitting or lying down with your spine nice and long.

Close your eyes.

Settle in.

Take a few slow cleansing breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Slow breath in.

Slow breath out.

You are safe.

You are here now.

I want you to tap into where you feel your anxiety most in your body.

Maybe it's in your throat or your chest.

Maybe it's in your belly.

Locate it and breathe into it.

If it feels uncomfortable to focus on this,

That's normal.

Just do your best.

What color or shape is this anxiety?

Is it moving or is it still?

Maybe it's bright and warm or maybe it feels dull and cold.

There's no right or wrong.

Just use your imagination.

Can you give your anxiety maybe a name or a face?

What does it look like?

Keep breathing.

I want you to imagine an open window in front of you.

Maybe you can even imagine the wind blowing on your skin.

Can you imagine that that anxious shape,

That color or that being is starting to move out of your body towards the window?

Watch it gently drift away into the distance.

Smile softly to yourself and whisper,

Thank you.

Goodbye for now.

And just notice what it feels like to release this anxious energy even for a few moments.

Take another deep breath in and a nice deep breath out.

You are not your anxiety.

This exercise just helps you to remember that.

I see you and I honor you.

Namaste.
