Welcome.
My name is Eric and this is a body awareness practice.
So find a comfortable place,
Somewhere where you can let your body feel relatively at ease.
If it's okay,
Close your eyes.
You can certainly keep them open if that's preferable for you.
Just try to let your gaze soften.
Take one deep breath in and let it go.
Start by simply noticing any sensation that draws your attention anywhere in your body.
And wherever that is,
Resist the temptation or automatic response to tell yourself about what you're feeling or to narrate your experience.
See if you can just feel the sensation.
You already know what it is and where it is.
No need to repeat that thought to yourself.
Now just move your attention to the feeling inside of your hands.
No need to move the hands here,
Just as they are.
Notice the sort of buzzing sensation of knowing that you have something there.
Let that attention move now down to your feet.
Noticing sensation throughout the soles of the feet,
The toes,
The tops of the feet.
Now notice sensation in the space behind your eyes.
Bring your attention to the feeling of the muscles around your eyes.
Noticing any tension there,
Just dissipating.
The space in between your eyebrows,
Your forehead,
Your temples,
Feeling in your jaw,
Inside your mouth.
Notice the sensation of air moving in your nose.
Notice that sensation as the air moves down into your throat.
Feeling your shoulders,
Upper back,
Chest.
The rise and fall of breath in your upper belly and in your lower back.
Sensation appearing in your lower abdomen,
Feeling in your hips,
Entirety of your legs,
Both arms.
Now just notice the whole right side of your body,
The whole left side of your body.
Noticing your whole body all at once.
Sensation throughout your whole body.
Just noticing how you can shine your attention like a spotlight wherever you'd like and wherever that light shines things seem to intensify a bit.
Now just bring your awareness back into your thinking mind,
Just allowing yourself to relax and let your attention shine wherever it would like.
As you go about your day,
If at any point you need to relax,
Step back,
Chill out,
Just take a moment.
Have a great day.
