I'm James Cole and this is Empowering Meditations.
As a professional hypnotherapist,
I recommend to most of my clients that they meditate daily or as often as possible.
This can help them with many things from reducing stress to reaching the goals that they want to achieve.
And one thing that's become clear to me is that so many people are confused about what meditation is.
They think it's getting in strange positions,
Putting your legs behind your head,
Or having some religious beliefs or mystical ideas.
Probably the biggest misconception that I hear regularly is that people think it's about emptying your mind completely.
And when they can't do it after a couple of tries,
They just give up and think that meditation is too hard.
So what is meditation?
Well,
If you strip it back to its fundamentals,
It's nothing more than the ability and the practice of focusing your mind.
You don't have to get in any strange or uncomfortable positions.
You can simply sit on the couch or wherever you're most comfortable.
And you don't have to clear your mind completely.
It's all about focusing your mind on one thought.
And if any other thoughts come to your mind,
Just letting them pass through and out again.
The mind is designed to think.
That's its purpose.
So how can meditating regularly help you?
It can be used to reduce stress,
To increase concentration and focus,
Mental alertness.
It can be used to treat depression and anxiety and help regulate your moods.
It can help people recover from drug and alcohol addictions.
It can increase your ability to work under stress.
It can improve your decision making skills.
It can increase your mental strength,
Your resilience and your emotional intelligence.
It can help manage conditions like ADHD.
It can be used to improve your learning abilities and your memory.
It can help reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease.
It can also increase your ability to deal with pain and help you heal quicker.
Pretty much anything that you use your mind for can be improved with meditation.
So what am I doing differently with Empowering Meditations?
Well,
It's my mission to demystify meditation.
To bring it back to its fundamentals.
My goal with Empowering Meditations is to make meditating as easy as possible to practice regularly and to give you meditations that can genuinely help to improve and empower your everyday life.
