Breathing is a swift and effective way to get back into your body, tune in, and focus. The way we breathe reflects the way we live. Your inhale directly correlates to your ability to receive. Your exhale directly correlates to your ability to release, as well as your ability to put energy out into the world. Healthy, flowing energy lies in the reciprocity of both giving and receiving. This starts with your breath.

Find a place where you can be comfortable and settle in.

Turn off your phone and put aside any distractions.

Take a moment to tune into your body.

Close your eyes.

Settle in and get comfortable.

Let yourself feel the surfaces beneath you.

Take a moment or two and give in to gravity.

Let yourself feel supported and held.

Put your hands over your chest on your heart.

Start by taking a normal breath and notice what this feels like.

Just breathing in and letting go.

You may notice that there are places in your body where the breath is stuck or it's not as deep as you'd like it to be.

Perhaps you're already breathing freely and your inhale and exhale are just fine.

Take another breath.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Next we're going to breathe with some intention.

We're going to deliberately use the breath to draw in a quality.

I think calmness and focus are two really good things to invite.

Take in an extra deep breath,

Just a bit slower than usual.

Let yourself breathe in calmness and focus.

Imagine as you inhale that you are drawing in a sort of relaxed clarity.

Breathe in this calming focus.

As you breathe out,

Release any tension,

Worry,

Concern or distraction that may keep you from being here right now.

Again,

Breathing in calm.

Breathing out concern.

And letting it all go.

As you continue to breathe,

Imagine you're creating a bubble or cocoon of light,

Clarity and calm all around you.

Breathe in that clear,

Calm focus.

Breathe it out all around you in a circle of safe,

Sacred space.

Breathe in clarity and focus.

Breathe it out all around you.

As you continue to breathe,

Notice how you're feeling in your body.

Notice what it feels like to be here right now.

And just keep breathing.

Take a few more minutes to simply be in your body,

Breathing in and breathing out.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes and return to the present moment here and now.
