Breath.

We have a holy obligation to breathe.

Spend this time for the next 15 to 20 minutes concentrating on the importance of breath in our body.

Breathe in.

Place your hand on your heart.

Notice as you inhale,

The air is cold.

As you exhale,

It's warm because it's given you life.

Breathe in,

Fill up your lungs just as you would be filling up a pitcher of water from the bottom to the top.

Reminding yourself that between each breath,

That space between is what allows us time to pause,

To react so that we choose our actions.

Breath.

It allows you to stay in the full expression of the emotions that you try to repress.

Notice as you breathe in,

Fill up your lungs,

That your hand on your heart rises up and down.

Imagine expanding from front to back as wide as you can for the next few breaths.

Imagine expanding from front to back as wide as you can.

Imagine expanding from side to side.

The entire choice of air is like a mixture.

A release.

It's time to move.

It's time to let go.

We're here to tend to those neglected parts of the self.

Let your body feel what it needs to feel while you continue to breathe.

Place your other hand on your abdomen.

Again,

Breathe in and tell yourself,

I love you.

I am here.

I am listening.

I am willing to allow love in.

I commit to sitting with myself once a day.

To listen to those parts of me that I've been ignoring.

Your hands,

One on your chest,

Over your heart.

One on your belly,

Lovingly placed.

Reminding you that you're not alone.

And telling yourself,

I love you.

I am listening.

I receive my worth while I'm here.

And as I receive mine,

I help others find theirs within themselves too.

I breathe.

I breathe.

Because I deserve to feel.

Through this wisdom,

I am able to stay present.

And to feel what I need to feel.

It allows me to see new paths of being.

New ways of communicating.

Communicating what I love with others.

I commit to feeling what I need to feel.

I love being in touch with all parts of who I am and the fullness of who I am.

I can find me through my breath.

If things start to feel a little tough throughout my day,

I will pause,

Place my hand on my heart.

Breathe.

Breathe.

I'll take the next few moments to reflect upon just how important my breath is.

It's so important we don't even have to think about it.

It's a reflexive action.

It's an autonomic response.

It is our very survival breath.

When we become anxious,

It's our breath that the first thing that goes.

Our breath is the first thing that goes when we become anxious.

Pause your hand on the heart.

It's a reminder that you can be with yourself and stay in that moment.

Breathe.

Breathe.

You matter.

Your feelings matter.

Sometimes people say it's hard for them to know.

Sometimes people say it's hard for them to begin breathing mindfully.

They say,

It makes me so anxious.

It's really not making you anxious.

It's instead lifting the veil of your hidden anxieties.

Stay.

Stay in that moment.

Breathe.

Put your hand on your heart again.

I love you all.

I'm listening.

All of your emotions are okay here.

Pause to breathe.

It gives yourself that space that you need in order to feel what your body needs to feel.

Take a few moments to start moving your body around.

Roll your head from side to side.

Open and close your hands.

Make fists.

Open and close.

Roll your feet around.

Take a big inhale.

A big exhale.

Count backwards from five.

Four.

Three.

Two.

One.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes and enjoy your day.

Namaste.

At first, I found it hard to focus. My mind was scattered and was trying to find reasons why this practice wasn’t right for me. “The music was too loud.” “This doesn’t feel like it will ‘do’ anything.” I was wrong. This allowed me to breath deeply and release emotionally release tensions in my body. The words spoke to me and felt as though they were giving me strength. I needed this tonight! Thanks you 🙏🏼
