Let's take 17 minutes to release any inner resistance that exists in your body and mind (maybe in the form of beliefs or past experiences) to help you open up some energetic space for your heart's desire to be yours. This Yoga Nidra practice includes somatically based techniques that bypass the critical/thinking mind to more easily release resistance that may be stored subconsciously. If you've enjoyed this practice, share your experience in the comments below, and follow as I release new practices regularly. Take care.

Thank you for sharing this space with me today,

Let's release any inner resistance that you might have to help you open up some energetic space for your heart's desires to be yours.

Take a moment to get as comfortable as you can be today,

Allow your body to land here in sanctuary,

You may notice how you're feeling in this moment and however you're feeling it's okay.

Allow this space to be your soft landing and your sanctuary for whatever it is that you're experiencing today.

And take two sharp inhales in through your nose,

And a long exhale out through the mouth,

You may wish to make your exhale audible,

Once again take two sharp inhales in through the nose,

And exhale with a sigh out through the mouth,

Once more in through the nose,

And exhale out through the mouth,

And notice how the breath is softening your experience,

And allow your body to relax even further into the support,

And return your breath to it's natural rhythm,

And simply notice where you feel the breath in your body today,

You may notice it in your throat,

Your abdomen,

Or your nostrils,

Wherever you feel the breath most strongly,

Just notice.

Allow yourself this moment to tune in to the inner rhythm of your body via the breath,

And just notice how you experience this inner rhythm,

Just noticing without changing anything,

And allow your breath to be your anchor for the practice today,

If at any time you feel like your awareness moves from being curious and observational,

Then you may wish to return to the natural breath for just a moment,

Trust your intuition and soften back even more now into the support below,

Allowing yourself to land here deeply and completely,

This is your space to rest with ease,

And imagine your awareness like a soft breeze clearing anything stagnant or unwanted from each point that I name,

Starting with your left thumb,

Allowing your awareness to land here at your left thumb,

Drift your breeze like awareness now to your first finger,

Second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

And your little finger,

The left wrist,

Your lower arm,

Elbow,

Your left shoulder,

The centre of your chest,

Your heart space,

Allow your breeze like awareness here to settle into your heart space,

Move your awareness now to the solar plexus,

Your navel,

And now drift your awareness to your right thumb,

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger,

Your fourth finger,

Your lower arm,

Your elbow,

Your right shoulder,

Drift your awareness now back to your heart space,

Sensing into your heart space,

And now back down to your navel centre,

The left of your hand,

Allow your breeze of awareness to drift up to your pelvic centre,

Fully saturating here at your pelvic centre,

The right side of your pelvis,

Your big toe,

Second toe,

Your little toe,

Drifting your awareness now up to the base of your spine,

Noticing the grounding energy here at the base of your spine,

The centre of your back,

Your upper back,

Allowing the breeze of awareness to soften your back here,

The back of your neck,

The base of your skull softening with the breeze of awareness,

The back of your head,

And the top of your head,

And as you rest here,

Notice a point in your body where you feel a block or stagnation,

This may feel like a heaviness or restless energy,

Just notice,

Allow your awareness to soothe this restlessness or heaviness with no expectations,

Just the presence of awareness to be a soothing force exactly as it is,

Your awareness is all you need,

Notice if the area of stagnation is a large area or a small area in your body,

Noticing with curiosity,

Returning to the breath if you feel drawn into the sensation,

Just noticing as the sensation is how it is,

And now drift your awareness to a part that feels spacious and open,

Just noticing where you feel this spaciousness in the body,

It may be the back of your heart,

Or the vastness of space behind the eyes,

Just notice allowing your experience to be exactly as it is,

Allow yourself to bathe in this openness and spaciousness,

And now bring your attention back to the part that feels blocked or stagnated,

Just noticing,

Allowing your breeze like awareness to float above the sensation,

Just noticing,

And now imagine that you could wrap your sense of spaciousness around the blocked or stagnant energy,

Just allow however your intuition guides you to experience this wrapping,

This embrace,

Maybe somatic or visual or even words,

Just noticing,

Allowing both spaciousness and blocked to be present at once,

And now bring your awareness back to your natural breath,

Wherever you feel it in the body,

Allow your awareness to float on the breath as you rest here deeply,

Exactly as you are,

And now rest back and enjoy the spaciousness of rest,

Feel into the gratitude to yourself for providing yourself this space and sanctuary to practice rest today,

You have created this experience for yourself,

This moment to land softly,

And for that you can feel into the gratitude to yourself,

Or you may wish to whisper in your mind's eye,

Thank you to yourself,

And you may find it supportive to imagine you could pull yourself into a gratitude embrace,

However your intuition guides you to experience this today,

Just imagining as you bathe here in rest,

And now begin to notice a sense of where your body is in your environment,

You may notice the weight of your body on the support beneath you,

And take a deep breath in through the nose,

And see if you can pick up any aromas,

They may be faint and subtle,

Just notice,

Take another deep breath in through the nose,

Allowing yourself to pick up any scent in your environment,

And bring in some small movements with your body,

You may wish to move the fingers gently,

And wiggle the toes,

Allow yourself to move slowly,

With the ease that you've cultivated in your mind here,

Allow yourself to translate this into how you move with your body,

Spaciousness and ease,

And whenever you're ready,

You may open your eyes and allow yourself to adjust back into your waking life,

Your practice is now complete,

But take as long as you need to come back into your waking life,

And I hope that you can take some of this restful,

Easeful sensation back into your waking life,

And I'd love to know how you found this practice today,

So please do share with me in the comments if you feel drawn to sharing your experience,

I love to read each unique experience of the practice,

Everyone does have very different experiences,

So please do share,

And whenever you're ready to practice next,

I'll be here,

Take care.

This was a wonderful Nidra practice! Iโ€™m also a meditation guide currently looking into Nidra training, so Iโ€™ve been listening to others for inspiration. Yours was amazing โ€” so grounding and beautifully guided. Where did you do your training? Thank you for such a peaceful experience!
