Welcome to day two of peaceful postpartum.
Today we will focus on nurturing your body,
Acknowledging its profound strength,
And working toward a deep appreciation for the wildly difficult and amazing work it has done.
Let's find a comfortable,
Ideally quiet space where you can sit or lie down in relative peace.
Allow your body to settle in,
Get comfy with any pillows or blankets you want,
And when you're ready,
Gently close your eyes.
Taking our first few moments here to just check in.
Like,
Hi body,
How are you feeling right now?
And what is going on emotionally?
With loving-kindness,
Simply allow yourself to notice what comes up without trying to change a thing.
Simply saying yes or thank you to what shows up.
Knowing that simple awareness can be profound medicine.
Very good.
Now,
We'll shift our awareness to our breath.
Take a nice big breath in through your nose,
Feeling your chest and abdomen expand fully.
Hold it at the top for a moment,
And release it slowly through your mouth.
Let any tension you're holding onto just flow out with your exhale.
Let's repeat that two more times.
Deep inhale,
Hold,
And exhale,
Feeling your body become more at ease.
Taking a few moments,
Go as slowly as you need or want to right now.
Just taking a few more nice deep breaths on your own time.
Now gently guide your attention and your breath down,
Down to your feet.
Notice any sensations,
Maybe warmth,
Coolness,
Or tingling.
Acknowledging your feet and thanking them for carrying you through the days.
They have supported you,
Moved with you,
And adjusted to new demands.
As you shift your focus to your legs now,
Take a moment to appreciate their strength.
They've carried not only you,
But the weight of new life.
Take this moment to thank your legs for their resilience,
Even in moments of fatigue.
Moving up,
Bring your awareness to your hips and lower abdomen.
These parts of your body have experienced incredible transformation and change.
You may be feeling a lot of tension,
Discomfort,
Or maybe even pain here.
If so,
Know that it's okay.
It'll pass.
Gently place a hand on your abdomen if that feels comforting.
Directing deep gratitude here.
Thank you for the gift of creation.
Thank you for holding and nurturing new life.
Gently guide your focus up to your chest now,
Where your breath flows.
Feel the warmth here,
The gentle rise and fall,
A constant reminder of life and renewal.
Your chest holds your heart,
Which has expanded with love beyond what you thought possible.
Send gratitude to your heart for this love,
For beating strongly through all that it's endured.
Now bring your awareness up to your arms and hands.
These parts of you that cradle and comfort,
That hold and care,
Acknowledge their strength and tenderness.
Silently thank them for being an extension of your love.
Shift your focus to your back and shoulders.
They have carried such burdens,
Physical and emotional.
Breathe deep into these spaces,
Allowing any and all tension there to just dissolve.
Whispering silently,
Thank you for your strength.
Thank you for holding me up.
Lastly,
Bring your awareness to your beautiful face and head.
Your eyes have witnessed moments of joy and exhaustion,
And your mind has carried the weight of worry and wonder.
Let your face relax completely,
Space between your eyebrows softening,
Jaw softening,
And silently offer some gratitude to your mind for its vigilance and care.
Now imagine a warm golden light radiating from the center of your chest.
It spreads slowly,
Enveloping your entire body in a soothing glow.
With each breath,
This light heals and nourishes every cell.
Feel this light as a wave of love and gratitude wrapping around you,
Embracing your entire being.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
Take a moment to rest in this space of healing and appreciation.
Know that your body is resilient,
Capable,
And worthy of your kindness.
And when you're ready,
You can begin to wiggle wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing gentle movement back into your body.
And eventually you can open your eyes.
I hope you can take this feeling of gratitude and appreciation with you throughout the rest of your day.
Thank you so much for listening.
