Hi,

And welcome to Day 3 of our peaceful postpartum series.

Today we have a 12-minute guided meditation created to help you nurture a mindful connection with your baby.

Postpartum is a journey,

And no matter where you're at or how you're feeling today,

Take this time to slow down,

Find some peace,

And build a sense of shared calm with your little one.

You can do this meditation whether baby is awake and alert or sleeping peacefully.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down with your baby close by.

If it feels right,

You can place a gentle hand on your baby's chest,

Or head,

Or hold their hand,

Or simply just keep them close to you.

Allow your gaze to soften or close your eyes completely,

And take a nice deep breath in,

Feeling your belly expand.

Hold onto it for a moment,

And then exhale completely,

Very slowly releasing any tension in your shoulders and jaw.

Breathe in deeply again,

This time imagining that you're inhaling calm and warmth.

And with each exhale,

Let go of just a little bit more stress or distraction.

Just allow your body and mind to soften completely,

Settling in fully into this shared space with your baby.

Taking these first few moments to just connect deeply,

Breathe deeply,

Feel any tension you're holding onto dissolve.

Just enjoying these moments.

Now go ahead and bring your attention to any points of contact between you and your baby.

Perhaps what you're feeling is the gentle weight of their body against yours,

Or the rise and fall of their little belly breaths,

Or the warmth of their tiny hand in yours.

Tune into these sensations,

Allowing them to ground you in the present moment,

Feeling the life and energy shared between you.

If your baby stirs or moves,

Acknowledge it with a gentle smile,

Seeing it as a reminder that you're both sharing this moment,

Each in your unique way.

Allow your awareness to focus even deeper on your baby's presence.

Observe their expressions,

The light in their eyes if they're awake.

Notice the little details,

The curve of their tiny fingers,

Their tiny toes,

The softness of their skin,

The sound of their breath.

If they're resting,

Imagine the peaceful energy radiating from them and enveloping you both.

Let yourself rest in the simplicity of just being together,

Without any expectations.

Now begin to imagine a soft,

Warm light glowing at the center of your chest.

This light represents your love,

Patience,

And nurturing energy.

With each inhale,

Visualize the light growing stronger,

And with each exhale,

Imagine it gently extending toward your baby,

Surrounding them with warmth and comfort.

As you both bask in the light of this heart-to-heart connection,

Know that it goes deep.

There is an unconditional bond between you,

One that goes beyond words and is built even stronger moment by moment.

As we come to the end of this meditation,

Take a moment to appreciate this shared time together.

Whisper a quiet thank you to yourself for pausing to connect,

And if it feels right,

To your baby for being your little companion on this journey.

When it feels right,

Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your surroundings.

You can wiggle your fingers and toes,

And if your eyes are closed still,

Gently open them.

If your baby is awake,

You can wiggle their little fingers and toes too,

Setting a little intention to remember this calm feeling again the next time you hold their body to yours.

Remember,

These moments of presence help set a foundation of trust and love that you both can return to time and time again.

Thank you so much for listening.
