Welcome to the quick midday pick me up.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth with a sigh.
Wherever you are,
Take a moment,
Whether you're standing,
Sitting,
Or lying down,
To come into your body.
Notice the surroundings of the room around you.
Notice how it feels to be in the surroundings.
The temperature on your skin.
The visual for your eyes.
Any sounds coming through your ears.
The taste on your tongue.
And the feel of the ground or the earth beneath your feet or your body.
And then gently close your eyes.
Notice your breathing.
Completely let go of any of the stresses or excitements of the day.
Notice how it feels to let the inhale fill your body,
Your torso,
With breath.
Notice how it feels to completely let it go through the mouth.
In this moment,
You are here.
This moment is exactly what it is and nothing else.
Allow the corners of your mouth to rise up towards the ears in a gentle smile.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
As you notice the thoughts streaming through your mind,
You can choose the concept that they are ephemeral.
They come and go easily and it is our choice to attach any significance to any one or two thoughts that come through.
A mantra I like to tell myself,
Especially in moments where I want to let go of tension or stress,
Is the following.
These thoughts are simply a story that's being told.
I do not have to believe them.
I can choose different thoughts.
I can shift my body.
Take a deep breath in through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
The next few times you exhale,
Focus on relaxing your jaw as the breath comes out through the mouth.
As you exhale,
See if you can relax your body twice as much without thinking about how.
Simply giving your permission to your body to release,
Knowing it is intelligent and it is here to support and take care of you.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
And exhale.
In this moment,
There is nothing to do.
In this moment,
There is nowhere to go.
And in this moment,
There is absolutely no one to be.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Allow your breath to deepen,
To lengthen in a way that keeps away tension.
So if you start noticing tension as you breathe in deeply or exhale,
Focus on relaxing into the inhale to lengthen the breath.
Focus on relaxing into the exhale as you breathe out.
And gently blink your eyes open.
Once again,
Notice your surroundings.
Notice the temperature on your skin,
The sounds around you,
The sights you see.
Gently make your way to a standing position.
Feel the calm in your body.
And to bring a little more energy to the moment,
Jump up and down a few times gently.
You don't even have to lift your feet completely off the ground,
Just your heels,
If you want it to be gentle.
If you want a little more energy,
Jump all the way up and down,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Jostling your arms,
Letting your head flat from side to side.
The jostling and the jiggling and the jumping up and down is a really nice perk to liven up your lymphatic system,
Which does not have a pump of its own,
Like the circulation.
And so it needs gentle,
Regular bouncing and movement throughout the day.
Give thanks for all the capabilities of your body today.
Have some water if you haven't already.
And have a wonderful rest of your day.
Thank you for listening.
