Welcome to today's meditation.
I am life.
And quite simply we're going to use this affirmation on repeat as a way of affirming our presence,
Our power,
Our potential and our connectedness to everything around us.
So this might be a useful one to use at a time when you feel diminished,
Lacking in energy,
Belittled,
Lost,
Uncertain or doubtful.
But equally it can be an opportunity to just plump up your already vibrant connection to the world and to remind yourself of your place,
Your standing and your achievements.
I'm a believer in supporting practice at both ends of the life spectrum rather than just using it when we feel unsupported or down or lost.
It's like adding currency to the bank to practice even when we feel good and that helps us to maintain an even keel.
So here we are seated,
Perhaps in a cross-legged position or with the feet on the floor of your inner chair.
Just feeling the warmth of your body,
The pulsing life of your body as it breathes.
Noticing if the breath and the blood and the skin and the muscle feel any particular way in this moment.
Feeling that there is life force being provided for all of these systems of the body,
Life force flowing throughout you and within you in every moment.
And as you just noticed this life force,
Appreciate it,
Give it thanks,
You are part of it and it is part of you.
You are life.
Nice isn't it?
And if you haven't already closed the eyes and found a comfortable resting place for the hands and arms then do so now.
If you'd like to stay connected to your life force you might bring your hands to your heart or one hand to the heart and one to the belly.
Let yourself soften into the body,
Again appreciating the existence of your body and the work of your body.
I want to take a couple of breaths to prepare,
Taking your time to slow these breaths down,
Welcoming in fresh energy,
Letting go of anything that no longer serves you.
And with the hands resting on the body we'll begin our affirmation and you can repeat mentally or out loud after me.
I am life.
I am life.
I am life.
I am life.
I am life.
I am life.
I am life.
I am life,
I am life,
I am life,
I am life.
And just continuing in your own mind with whatever rhythm,
Whatever cadence,
Whatever tone,
Either in your own mind or out loud,
Let it gather pace,
Let it gather certainty,
Let it gather in conviction and excitement and potential,
Let it excite you,
Let it nourish you,
Let it turn you on to the fact of your existence and pleasure and your life,
Your existence in the grand stream and web of all other existences.
Continuing now for the next minute or two,
Exploring your own voice,
Exploring the response in your body,
Your heart and belly in particular,
Allowing it to build momentum,
Surety and love for your own life,
The fact of your being here and just playing and celebrating in it.
I am life.
At the end of the next minute and a half,
I'll mark the end of this affirmation with three soft bells.
