So welcome to this meditation.

This meditation has an intention of helping you to learn to work with your body,

To cultivate an attitude of gratitude towards your body and all that it does for you.

Most of us have a very unhealthy relationship with our body.

We feel that it's not the right size or shape or we get upset when we get sick.

We're constantly fighting or struggling against what our body is doing and how it's presenting itself to us.

This is something that's really fueled by the media,

Magazines tell us all we should be a particular size or even when we get sick we are struggling or fighting against our body being sick because we need to be busy,

We need to be doing things.

So the aim of this meditation is to help you to come into a different relationship with your body to learn to work with it,

To appreciate all that it does for you and in doing so and learning to cultivate an attitude of gratitude and an attitude of welcoming and support towards your body of acceptance it helps you to work with your body to achieve those goals.

And oftentimes this is a real turning point for people when they want wish to lose weight and are if they're sick and they want to get better a little bit of acceptance and gratitude through this meditation helps us to change that relationship.

Now of course this isn't an overnight process but let this be perhaps the first step in that process.

So closing your eyes and settling yourself into your meditation posture,

Making yourself as comfortable as you can be.

I'm pausing now for a moment just to reflect on all that your body does for you.

Walking,

Talking,

Hop,

Skip,

Jumping,

Running,

Driving of your car every day that it does for you.

Your heart never misses a beat.

Your liver is constantly processing all that you take in.

Your lungs are breathing 10,

000 times every day.

We have these little neurons that are like daisy chains that run from the top of our head and our brain all the way down even to our little toe.

And this little daisy chain is fired every time you want to move your toes and all that happens within a split second.

So your body is an incredible machine full of intricate little synapses and connections.

For a moment then just say thank you to your body.

Thank you for supporting you,

For holding you,

For letting it do all that you need to do.

And if you can even smile into your body,

Thank you.

Thank you body.

And now you're going to nurture and nourish your body with your breath.

So first of all I invite you to imagine that your breath is red and you're going to breathe all the way down to your right little toe.

Wiggle it if you can or be aware of any sensations that you're feeling around your right little toe and on your out breath letting that toe relax.

And on the second breath breathing red all the way down to the second toe in your right foot.

Being aware of sensations,

Temperature,

Its texture.

Breathing out letting go.

And the third toe.

And the fourth.

And the big toe on the right foot.

For a moment now,

Swiggling all the toes in your right foot.

Being aware of what they're feeling,

Sensing.

Seeing them in your mind's eye if you can,

Covered with red.

And on the out breath letting them relax.

Breathing awareness now down to the sole of your right foot.

Breathing out being aware of any tingling sensations,

Any pins and needles that you feel around about this area.

Taking another breath into this area.

Breathing out letting go.

And then into your heel.

Your ankle.

Breathing red all the way down to your shin and your calf.

Softening,

Releasing as you let go.

Your right knee.

Your right hamstring.

Softening,

Releasing as you breathe out.

Your right thigh.

And now into your right hip.

Imagining your right hip melting as you breathe out.

And then breathing and scanning down the whole of your right leg from the hip to the knee and out the sole of the right foot.

Looking for any areas of tension or stress that you might find and if you find any,

Just breathe into that area and let go of the stress on the out breath.

If you can,

Imagine the right leg surrounded with red and this red flowing out through the sole of your foot.

And then expanding your awareness to include your left leg.

And notice the difference between your left leg and your right leg.

We'll do exactly the same thing on the left hand side.

So breathing into your left little toe.

Breathing out,

Letting go.

The second toe.

And the third.

And the fourth.

And the left big toe.

And now bringing awareness to all the toes on your left foot,

Wiggling them all.

And on your next out breath,

Letting them relax,

Soften.

Breathing in your red breath now,

All the way down to your left sole.

Notice any tingling sensation or vibrations,

Pins and needles.

You might find about this area as you breathe in into it.

And down to your left heel.

Your left ankle.

And as we do this scanning,

Know that there's nothing that you're looking for.

There's nothing that you need to find.

There's no right answer or wrong answer.

You just be curious about whatever it is that you find there.

Your left shin and calf.

Left knee.

Left hamstring.

And left thigh.

Into your left hip now.

And then scanning down the whole of the left leg from the hip to the knee and out the sole of the foot.

Seeing your left leg surrounded in red.

Breathing into any areas of tension or stress you might find and letting them go with your out breath.

Letting your left leg feel heavy,

Soft,

Relaxed.

And now expanding your awareness once more to include your right leg.

Noticing now the differences between the right leg and the left leg.

And also noticing the similarities.

We pause here for a moment and say thank you.

Thank you to our legs for all that they do for us.

Even if this feels uncomfortable,

Say thank you anyway.

Even smile into your legs.

And we move up the body now into the belly.

And our breath now becomes orange.

And you breathe into a softened belly.

Seeing if you can receive the next in-breath into a softened belly.

Filling your belly up,

Expanding it out as you breathe in.

Then letting that belly go as you breathe out.

Breathing in,

Softening,

Opening.

Breathing out,

Letting go.

Directing your breath to this point.

And then your mind's eye visualizing an orange breath,

Feeding into all the muscles and the organs of this area of your body.

This orange breath wrapping around your kidneys and your adrenals,

Your intestines,

Your reproductive parts.

Feeding into all of those muscles and organs.

And thank you for all that they do for you.

Noticing what you can feel next to your skin.

As you push out your belly on the in-breath and you let it go on the out-breath.

Moving up now into your chest and directing your breath into this space.

You now imagine that your breath is a color green.

So smiling into your chest if you possibly can.

Saying thank you to your heart.

Never misses a beat.

Your lungs constantly,

Continuously expanding and relaxing for you.

Ten thousand breaths every single day.

Thank you.

And so you know in the next in-breath if you can really expand your ribs,

Expand your breath.

Feeding oxygen into these amazing organs,

This amazing part of your body.

And if you listen really closely perhaps you can even hear your own heartbeat.

And you can say thank you to your heart directly.

This organ is only the shape of or size of your fist.

And yet it pumps blood all the way around your body.

Receives it back,

Puts oxygen into it and sends it off again.

Incredible organ.

And this breath then also feeds down your shoulders to your elbows and fingertips.

So bringing your awareness to your fingertips for a moment or two.

See if you can notice any tingling.

And then bringing your breath upwards now.

Up your neck and into your brain.

Imagining that your breath is white.

So as you breathe in it circles around your brain.

Down your face and out through your nose or your mouth.

So as you breathe in it circles up the back of the head to the crown.

And as I breathe out,

Breathe out.

The energy comes down from your crown,

Down the front of your face and out your mouth or your nose.

This breath is feeding your brain.

It's feeding your eyes,

Your nose,

Your ears,

Your cheeks and your lips also.

And again we pause here to say thank you to our brain.

A hundred thousand thoughts every day.

It's a very active little centre.

And we say thank you.

So thank you to our eyes,

To our ears,

Our lips and our cheeks,

To our nose and our ears.

Thank you.

Being aware now of the sensations at the top of your head and at the bottom of your feet.

Let your awareness encompass all of who you are physically.

And say thank you once more to the whole of your body.

And asking us how to come into a healthier relationship with it.

Just listening for the answer.

It might be very,

Very simple.

Listen to your body to see what it says.

The answer might be not what you expect.

So let go of any expectations of what you think it should be.

Simply ask in your body,

How can I support you?

How can I help you?

How can I work with you?

Listening for the body to respond.

And then we slowly begin to bring this practice to a close.

Saying thank you to yourself for taking the time out of your day to listen to this track.

And know that you've done something quite profound today.

And something that will help you to appreciate and work with your body,

To keep it healthy,

To attain your goals.

Thank you for listening.

Namaste.

So helpful. Wonderfully articulates the team spirit I've cultivated over the years as my body and I have coped with and thrived with a number of chronic medical conditions. I don't hear much about the body as a partner or teammate - this was so joyous to hear. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Bookmarked and downloaded. So grateful you shared this with me and the world. I see the light in you. ๐Ÿคฒโค๏ธ๐Ÿคฒ

Very nice. This meditation was very helpful and much needed. I am recovering from surgery for jaw cancer having my whole right jaw rebuilt with my fibula bone and many grafts and tissue. I see myself and it is a little scary. I want to appreciate my body for being able to help itself in my time of need and look at the whole picture and not just focus on the physical. I am truly blessed. Thank you and Namaste. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
