Welcome,

I'm Liz Tobin and this meditation is called,

Be Generous to Yourself.

This is a gentle practice for you to sit in stillness and to reflect on the passage of your own generous spirit.

Find a comfortable space to sit or lie down.

Remove any distractions.

When you're ready,

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

Allow the breath to expand your belly,

Your chest.

Exhale.

Again,

Breathe in through the nose.

Fill up your belly,

Your chest.

Exhale.

Again,

Breathe in.

Exhale.

Allow each new breath to move effortlessly in your body.

Allow it to find its natural rhythm.

For a moment,

Reflect on all the wonderful things you do for others,

For your family,

Your friends,

Your clients and community.

Reflect on how you speak to them,

How you care for them,

How you consistently show up for them with love and acceptance.

Holding space and pivoting to meet their needs.

Think about the generosity,

Patience and commitment that you constantly show them.

Now turn this generosity and this enormous capacity you have to care for others inward.

So it points directly at your heart centre,

Setting a clear intention of self-care and compassion.

As you breathe in,

Breathe in this generosity,

Feeling its warmth and its vibrancy.

Allow it to illuminate as it fills up your lungs and expands your ribcage.

As you exhale,

Abandon anything that does not nourish you.

False expectations,

Negative emotions,

Feelings of shame,

Guilt.

Let these thoughts dissolve as they do not serve you.

Replace them with an abundance of joy and self-acceptance.

Embrace your generous spirit.

Imagine it moving elegantly within your rested body.

Allow it to soften across your forehead,

Your jaw,

Your shoulders.

Allow it to release tension in your hips,

Your back.

Feel as it brings calmness to your physical body.

Reflect on how your body feels when you are gentle with yourself,

When you celebrate yourself.

Think about how it feels and how it functions.

How you sound,

How you move,

Laugh,

How you dance,

How a strong light radiates from this.

Give yourself permission for your voice to be heard and your deepest needs to be met.

Be unashamed and unapologetic about this.

Give yourself full permission to honour and nurture yourself,

To be uncompromising in the kindness and the compassion that you show yourself.

For a few moments,

Enjoy the feeling of lightness,

Gracefully moving within.

While in this stillness,

Set an intention of self-care that centres around being wildly generous to yourself,

That is filled with an abundance of love and is a celebration of you.

Hold this intention close so it points directly at your heart centre and tunes in to your innate sense of knowing.

Return your attention to your breath softly,

Gently.

When you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and go gently into the day.
