This meditation is a practice of coming back into your body, reconnecting with the earth and with the deep well of wellbeing that is already here. From that grounded foundation, we open the heart in connection with the higher self, so that your resourcing comes from something real and steady inside you. This practice is especially for the times you feel exhausted or emptied out. Together, we remember and feel in a very visceral way that you are already enough. You are not a problem to be solved. You will be invited to rest in your opening heart and loving awareness, to hold your experience in kindness instead of criticism, and to let yourself fill up with wellness. As you fill to overflowing, you become more available for your own life, and for the world you care so much about.

We're not approaching our meditation as a project,

As something to accomplish,

As something to get better at even.

I invite you today to really relate to our practice today as this moment of deep rest,

Deep relaxation,

While being incredibly present and available.

We're just taking a few moments here to breathe into your body and just notice how you are.

Notice what you're feeling,

How your body is.

Let yourself be exactly as you are,

Fatigued,

Grieving,

Anxious,

Peaceful,

Busy.

Just notice that those labels are just actually just labeling emotion and experience and energy.

That's all that's actually underneath any of the things that we can label.

And just see if you can keep breathing yourself into your actual moving,

Aware life force inside your body and around you.

With each breath coming closer into the sensations you notice in your body,

When we're aware of sensation,

It's almost impossible to think.

The more present you can become with your body and with what you feel in your body,

The less likely it is that you'll start to ruminate and hamster-wheel thoughts in your head,

And the more present you will be.

If you can feel gravity holding you and you can feel your breath moving in your body,

Then you know that you are in present time,

Which is the only place we actually get to live,

The only place we have power,

And it's where our wellness and our wisdom reside.

Without managing or changing anything,

You can start to welcome your breath more fully into your body,

And with each exhale you can invite your body to start releasing tension,

Holding,

Managing out with each exhale,

Just letting it release into the earth,

Out of your pores,

Out of your grounding cord.

If you notice you start to think,

That's not a problem,

That's what the brain does.

Just fold it into your breath,

It's like you're breathing the thought in.

If you notice areas of tension or agitation or heaviness in your body,

You can also bring your breath and your compassionate awareness to those places,

Not to fix them,

Just to be with what's here.

If you notice your self-thinking or you notice a particular emotion,

Remember to actually celebrate that you're noticing,

And then just come back to your awareness.

Okay,

So letting your sit bones and tailbone plug down into the earth,

You can imagine it like a three-pronged socket that connects you downward,

Descending down into a spot with your name on it,

In present time,

In the core of the earth,

The energy of the earth.

We're opening and descending in that way until you can really feel this wide and vast pillar of support underneath you,

That's holding you,

Stabilizing you,

And nourishing you.

Feel the points of contact with the earth in your physical body,

Let yourself release into that support everywhere you can,

While you feel your whole energy field and your life force is supported and grounded by your grounding cord connected into the earth.

We're creating a container for you that holds you in your practice today,

So we have our grounding cord deep and wide,

We have the support of gravity in the earth underneath us,

We have the movement and healing energy of your breath that's always here,

Connecting you to present time,

Allowing you to receive and to let go equally.

We're also going to put a sphere of light or grace,

The presence around you,

It goes under your feet,

It goes above your head,

You can make it whatever color you want,

Many people like to visualize it like a golden egg of light or a pearlescent sphere of grace all around you.

It allows your human body to relax,

It allows you to feel connected,

Supported,

Just trust whatever visual or sense your body shows you today,

It's perfect whatever it is.

We're invoking benevolent support that's always here,

We're just opening our awareness to it,

Intending and allowing it to be here.

We are here to be aware and to relax.

If you notice you're thinking it's not a problem,

Just bring your awareness and relax.

We just keep lovingly putting down and letting go of whatever our brain keeps trying to pick up and manage and plan and judge and scrutinize,

Just keep letting go.

Whatever your brain picks up,

Let it be here,

Breathe into it,

And just relax and see what happens.

Now I invite you to once again connect to your pelvic floor,

Where your grounding cord connects to your body.

We're going to drop down your grounding cord down into the core of the earth with your awareness and breathe up into your body from that place.

From the energy,

The space of the earth,

Up into your body,

Feeling the warmth,

The vitality,

The nourishment,

The life-giving energy that you might notice is there,

Let it just rise up into you effortlessly,

Like a tree receives nourishment from the earth.

Let it fill your body,

Fill every breath.

And from the core of the earth,

Breathing up into your body,

We're going to start to bring that nourishing,

Grounding,

Life-force energy all the way up into the base of your heart center in your chest.

And we're going to visualize our heart center today like a lotus bud or a rose bud or whatever flower you want to make it is perfectly great.

Ideally one that has a lot of petals,

Like a dahlia or a lotus or rose.

Let this energy rise up and start to fill in the heart space,

Filling it with warmth and light.

The heart may contain a lot of feeling,

Let all of that be here,

Just breathing into it.

We're going to take our awareness and bring it to the crown of your head and beyond your head up into your soul star chakra,

Which some of you know about from classes.

It's this extra chakra,

It's about 16,

18 inches above your head.

It's usually depicted as like a magenta,

Lavender color.

And it's where your higher self comes into your body,

Into your energy field.

Seeing if you can sense that,

You may or may not see it,

But just see if you can feel or intend that you are connected to that space,

It's at the top of your energy field.

And we're going to invite your higher self to connect to that place.

The divine,

Your light,

Your loving awareness just connects,

It's like it docks down into that chakra.

Taking a few moments to see if you can feel that and when you're ready,

Letting it start to descend to the crown of your head.

Really we're just letting the light that you are descend down and fill up your body.

And it starts to come through your crown and all the way down into your heart center,

Where it connects and merges with the light you're receiving from the earth,

The warmth that's already there.

And you might notice,

See if you can notice that there's actually already a light in the heart.

It's just naturally arising constantly.

It's infused and enlivened by the light from the earth and from the heavens,

Because the human being is the union of heaven and earth,

We say in Asian medicine.

And the heart is the union of heaven and earth.

See if you can also notice there's already a deep,

Vast,

Luminous light in your heart.

And some people also experience a deep,

Velvety,

Dark void is also in your heart.

To see what you notice,

All of it's perfect.

And as you receive this light,

This nourishment from below you,

Above you,

Around you,

And within you,

See if you can sense that your heart gets larger and larger,

And it starts to open,

Petal by petal.

This thousand-petaled lotus of your heart,

This thousand-petaled flower,

Starts to open with each exhale.

On the inhale,

Your light shines,

And the inhale,

Your heart fills up.

On the exhale,

Petals start to open.

And as these petals open,

Naturally,

As they receive this life-giving energy,

It spills out into your body,

Especially to the achy places,

The tender places,

To the parts of your mind or your awareness that are having feelings,

That have been struggling,

That don't know what to do.

It's almost like a petal opens and reaches out.

It's like offering a hand.

It's giving care and presence to whatever these parts of you are.

It's like those petals are saying,

I am here.

I love you.

As they continue to open,

You are safe,

And you are already enough.

When we're exhausted,

When we're overwhelmed,

When we don't know what to do,

The most nourishing thing that you can possibly do,

The biggest self-care that there is,

Is to remember that you are already enough,

And to give that grace to yourself,

And that you are not a problem to be solved.

On the inhale,

Let your heart fill up from whatever direction feels true for you right now,

In,

Above,

Below,

Around,

Everywhere.

And on the exhale,

Let the petals continue to open,

One by one.

Let the petals reach into the tired places,

The agitated places,

The grief,

The aloneness,

Whatever it is that you might find in your human experience.

If you get lost or swimmy,

You can just come right back into the core of your heart,

Or in your grounding cord,

And you celebrate that you noticed.

On the inhale,

Really let your heart fill up,

And on the exhale,

See if you can let this flower of your heart get even bigger,

To the point that it expands beyond your body.

The petals extend beyond your body,

While they continue to fill your body up.

And as you expand,

You might notice places where you're holding on still,

Where you're tracking stress,

Or trauma,

Or beliefs,

And just let them be there.

Let the petals extend toward them.

Let the love that's flowing out of your heart just love whatever is here,

And permeate it with that loving awareness,

That light.

And sometimes people notice places in the heart that don't want to open,

Or feel shrouded,

Or dense,

Or dark,

And that is also not a problem.

We just continue to let the light permeate those places.

They get to be here.

We're letting our awareness just be with them.

We don't have to get rid of them,

Or make it a problem.

Remembering that awareness is the greatest agent for change and healing.

Just being aware,

And just bringing kindness to whatever you find.

If the energy gets fluttery,

Or distracted,

It's always helpful to just release your awareness back and down.

That will bring you back to your center.

Back and down.

And perhaps you're feeling well today,

Or there's something you're loving,

Or enjoying,

Or looking forward to.

You can also let that expand and grow,

And bring your loving awareness to that.

It's so vulnerable to let ourselves be joyful.

It's such a gift.

On the inhale,

Filling up in the center of your heart.

On the exhale,

Just see how much nourishment and luminous well-being you can let spill out into your body,

Into your presence,

Filling yourself up.

We live in a struggling world with a lot of people that don't have enough nourishment of various kinds,

And there's a lot of challenge in the world.

And it can feel difficult to actually let ourselves be nourished,

Because we think we should make sure that everybody else has it first.

And that's beautiful,

To want to serve others.

But this practice,

Let it really show you that if you let yourself fill up,

Fill to overflowing,

With your nature,

With luminosity,

With space,

Giving yourself time and capacity to relax at this level,

It is the most beneficial thing you can do for our world.

Because you are becoming more of your healthy self.

You will have more to give and more to shine.

There will be more wellness within and around you.

It's putting your oxygen mask on first.

And from there,

As you fill up with this nourishing light,

Then you can really serve others and lead with the wisdom and compassion that your heart naturally has.

So where else can you fill up?

Where else needs nourishment?

Do another few breaths here,

Filling up the heart,

Expanding petal by petal.

And let it fill up your whole body.

And if it starts to feel genuine and helpful right now,

You can also let it spill out into the world.

You don't have to do that today.

It's like a lighthouse,

It just gives light out.

But it fills you first.

And then I invite you to take a few breaths as you start to open your eyes and come back into your five senses.

And as you do so,

As you do that transition,

To keep your awareness partially in your heart.

A few breaths as we finish this meditation.

But that flow in your heart does not need to stop.

Thank you all.
