Welcome to this session of self-connection,
Of meeting yourself this day.
And we're going to do that by inducting ourself into the body.
And the induction process is the first step in a neuro-sculpting meditation.
And we will use this as our daily grounding.
So begin by finding a way to get comfortable in your body.
There is no particular posture that is needed,
Just allowing something that feels comfortable and supportive at this time.
And as you settle in,
Maybe asking yourself,
Could I get maybe five or even ten percent more comfortable?
Maybe it's giving yourself permission to grab a blanket or turning down a light.
Whatever you need to do,
You can pause this and let yourself get comfortable,
Get set up for a time of nourishment.
As you're ready,
I'm going to invite you to begin to notice that you're breathing.
And thank goodness this system in our body works automatically,
Continuing to sustain life.
And now we bring the magic of our awareness to it,
Noticing the breath moving into the body,
Noticing the breath moving out of the body,
Noticing whether you're breathing in through your nose or your mouth.
And what does that feel like?
How do you feel the air passing into the body?
And what does it feel like as air leaves the body?
Noticing the rise and fall of your chest,
Maybe the belly,
Maybe your shoulders.
How many things can you notice right now about breathing,
About being breathed,
About air moving in and out of the body?
Maybe sighing with the breath.
And even as you're noticing that breath moving in and out,
Allow yourself also to notice how you're connected to your seat or the floor,
Whatever is supporting your body.
And asking yourself,
Can you let go and connect a little bit more with that support?
Maybe feel your bottom drop deeper into your seat or noticing your heels connected to the floor.
Whatever it is,
Just inviting yourself to open and let go just one step further.
Still noticing that breath moving in and out,
Letting the body sink deeper into connection.
And maybe now inviting the image of that breath moving through the body.
Where are all the places that air goes to?
How do you imagine it moves through the lungs?
Or what does the diaphragm look like as it rises and falls,
Flexes,
Compresses?
And what if you could take that imagination even further and pretend that you could send air to different places in your body?
Maybe we could even give this air a color,
Maybe the color of peace or joy.
What if we could breathe air into the backs of the knees?
Or into the hips?
What if you could breathe air into the back of your head?
How about the jaw?
Can you pick three T-H-R-E-E more places to send breath into your body?
Those places that you hold tension or heighten the sensation.
And then what if we could breathe in through the chest?
So taking our imagination once again into the pretend state,
Imagining that the air is moving right in through the center of the chest.
And what if this air that we're receiving here is full of gratitude,
Letting your chest space be full of gratitude?
Maybe once again you name T-H-R-E-E things that you're grateful for.
What three things can you recall right now that you can breathe into your chest opening to gratitude?
And as you let yourself be full of gratitude,
Still noticing that the breath is physiologically moving in and out with ease and that your imagination is calling in gratitude through your chest,
That your body is connected to the support of the floor.
What if from this place you could give over just a bit more to gravity,
Let go of anything that you're holding?
Maybe invite trust or support.
Whatever would serve you as you go through this day,
Inviting it to be present with you now.
Letting yourself to remember that all the stories you tell yourself are for you and that you are the author of this life and you can determine what stories you move through this day and what stories you move through this body.
Thanking yourself for taking this time to come into a grounded,
Connected state with your body,
Opening your energy and your emotional body.
And from this place I invite you to maybe set your intention for the day,
Claiming a word that will be your clear script,
The story that you live out.
And begin to follow that breath again,
This time focusing on the exhale as it moves out the body,
As you swim up.
Feeling the tip of your nose,
Those spaces between your toes,
The backs of your shoulders as you invite them to move and just coming back into awareness.
Taking some time to feel the open,
Expanded groundedness of your body and mind.
And the invitation is to go forward from this state into your day.
Make it a beautiful one.
Thank you for practicing.
