New Moon Session - The Gate Of Belief
Recorded on Insight Timer LIVE, this New Moon session explores The Gate of Belief. At this Gate, we look at our current limiting beliefs and are led through a process to get clear in what is not serving as we prepare to let go. We release and re-write new beliefs using the New Moon energy to activate this new beginning. This session guides you through step-by-step journaling exercises and concludes with an energy meditation to seed the new beliefs you desire for your life.

All right.
Welcome,
Welcome again.
And if this is your first time with me,
I am delighted that you're here.
My name is Elisha Clark-Helpen.
And always that question of like,
What do you do?
How do you call yourself?
I call myself a teacher,
A mentor,
A sacred life mentor.
And I love to work with our intuitive self,
Our deep self,
And to really bring our soul essence into embodiment,
To this body,
To this life,
So that we can live our fullest.
I don't believe that it's just about getting to somewhere out,
Somewhere out there.
I think we can do that right here,
Right from where we are,
Including all of the history that we bring into this moment,
That there is nothing that has happened or is happening that is not,
It's not for us.
It's not part of this journey.
So how I work with the new moon or what I sort of ascribed to the new moon is that it's a new beginning.
It's the part of the archetypal moon's journey of birth.
And with every birth,
There is a death.
With every death,
There is birth,
There is rebirth.
And so this cycle that the moon teaches us about,
Rebirthing,
Coming into fullness,
Beginning to wane,
Coming into death,
Coming into birth,
Coming into fullness,
Waning,
This way that she teaches us is not just,
Well,
It is just for our understanding that that is the cycle,
That is what a spiral is,
And that we are cyclical,
Just like the moon.
We are not meant to be producing.
We're not meant to be in our blossoming all of the time.
And that this new moon is a really beautiful reminder that one,
We get to start over.
We get a new beginning.
We get a pause,
A reset,
And a beginning.
And that that can happen.
We can think about cycles.
They happen every day.
They happen every month.
They happen every season.
They happen every moon cycle.
They happen every year.
Our whole life is oriented to cycle.
And yet,
In how we work with ourselves,
How we think about ourselves,
How we even know and understand and trust ourselves does not come in cycle,
Right?
Most of us don't know the cycle of self that we are.
And so I love working with the new moon as an initiatory process,
An initiatory process.
And so I'm gonna read to you something I wrote,
And it's just easier for me to read it,
About the initiatory process.
The initiatory process is that rarefying of the essence.
It is distilling down into the fundamental components so that we can inhabit our full capacity,
So that we can clear away what is distracting,
What is untrue,
And what is keeping us from our depth.
We must be willing to go through the initiatory process.
This refining fire is the opportunity to surrender to your greater purpose,
To deepen your relationship with the mystery,
And to meet your full depth.
So that is what,
To me,
The initiatory process is.
And we can,
Of course,
We're sovereign beings,
So we can initiate ourselves at any time.
But I love working with the initiatory process at the beginning of cycles and seasons,
Because I think we're partnering then with the cosmic support,
Right?
The cosmic energy is at this restart.
And so it's a really beautiful time for us to lean in to what's happening on the larger scale,
Recognizing that we are a microcosm of many macrocosms.
And so when we partner with those macrocosm energies,
We then get a bolstering,
Right?
And so when we work with the new moon as this place of initiating something within ourselves,
We're allowing ourselves to get greater support.
And the reason why I work with what we're calling gates is that these are the opportunities for us to really dig in.
So in the allegory of Anana,
She goes through these initiatory gates.
And the gatekeeper at these gates says,
You know,
Anana,
What will you give to cross this gate of the underworld?
And so I've worked with the gates in a lot of different ways.
And one of the gates that I work with is called the gate of belief.
And that's what we're gonna work with today at this new moon energy,
The gate of belief.
And our beliefs are what are creating our perception and experience of our life.
And some of our beliefs are conscious and cognated and explicit.
We could share them.
But a lot of our beliefs are implicit and subconscious and unconscious and a little bit buried deeper.
And so you can choose today kind of what belief or the way that you want to work with it.
But what if we think about beliefs as just things,
Thoughts,
Even feelings that we have experienced enough or that have come into our awareness enough that we simply believe them to be true.
There is not maybe an ultimate belief system.
Maybe,
Maybe we could get curious about that.
There are not maybe tons of absolutes.
I work with the hermetic laws as being what are the unmutable beliefs or truths.
And then pretty much everything else is relative to dimension,
To consciousness,
Level of consciousness,
To all kinds of factors,
Right?
And so when we're looking at ourself and we're wanting to maybe create something new in our life or to experience life from a new way,
It's really beautiful to initiate ourselves into checking in on our beliefs and what that belief is creating as our perception or experience of life.
So our beliefs,
Two ways that beliefs can get created are these beliefs that are created by the time that we're seven.
And they come from our experience of life.
They come from our conditioning,
Our domestication,
Our family of origin,
Our cultures,
Our religion,
These inputs that are happening.
And what's happening there is that our subconscious is sponging up all of these things and it's contextualizing.
And the subconscious works with metaphor.
It works with image,
But it also takes image and metaphor as truth,
As literal.
So when we're really young and someone says,
Money doesn't grow on trees.
And the subconscious goes,
Oh,
Excellent.
Money doesn't grow on trees.
There's lots of trees with things growing.
There must not be a lot of money,
Right?
And so it seems non-logical to our conscious brain,
But to the subconscious,
It makes complete sense,
These metaphorical aspects.
And so one of the ways we can work with our subconscious beliefs is to work with metaphor,
To work with image.
Another way that we create beliefs is that we just have thoughts,
Right?
The kind of the science,
One of the numbers that gets thrown around is that we have about 60 to 80,
000 thoughts a day.
Most of them are not original.
They are the same reoccurring thoughts over and over and over again.
Now,
I don't know about you,
But I am not aware of 80,
000 thoughts a day.
I've never counted my thoughts,
But I'm pretty sure I would not get up to 80,
000,
Which means there's a lot of thought that's happening that I am not consciously aware of.
And what might I be saying to myself,
Right?
Well,
If you've heard me talk before,
You'll know some of those things that I have uncovered that I have been saying to myself were not things that were particularly supportive or helpful,
Right?
And you're probably the same.
I know you're the same as me.
And so when we can begin to understand that maybe some of the thoughts that might not be in the forefront,
But might be in the background that are happening in our brain day in and day out,
They might be creating belief systems that we don't wanna be living.
They might be creating a perceptual field that's not serving us.
That's not allowing us to live in our fullness.
That's not allowing us to create or be who we know we are and what we say we wanna do,
Okay?
So what else about beliefs?
One of the ways I love to think about beliefs is that whether it was created by our thought patterns that we've been kind of repeating to ourselves consciously or unconsciously over and over again,
Or whether it was a conditioned belief that happened before the age of seven,
It's often like holding up a mirror or putting on a pair of glasses.
And if that mirror is corroded or distorted or cracked,
The reflection that we see back is it's not pure.
It's not a whole image.
And we're putting on glasses in there.
They've got cracks in them,
Or they're really dirty.
We're not seeing clearly.
And so when we have beliefs that are based in fear or based in scarcity,
Based in separation,
Based in unworthiness,
That's like looking at the world and then seeing ourselves reflected back from that world in a distorted way,
Right?
And so what has to happen is rather than trying,
Sometimes what we do with our beliefs is we try and fix that cracked mirror.
We're like,
Oh,
I'll just look at it through this little corner that's maybe a little clearer and less cracked.
And it might seem silly,
But sometimes it doesn't dawn on us,
Take off those cracked glasses,
Put down that distorted cracked mirror and find a new one,
Create a new one,
Build a mirror that allows you to see into the world and have the world reflected back to you in a way that serves you,
In a way that guides you into your fullness,
In a way that allows you to feel and see and be who you really are,
Right?
And so we spend a lot of time maybe fixing old mirrors,
Right?
And we can see this reflected in the way we live.
Like how many of us,
I have a pair of socks that for whatever reason,
Like I refuse to throw away.
And there's at this point on the bottom of the sock,
There's more hole than sock,
Right?
But I like love these socks for some reason.
And so I keep them,
Right?
And that's often what we do with these beliefs.
Like we know they're not really serving us,
But rather than completely getting rid of them,
We just kind of maybe like,
We'll sew it up a little bit,
Or we'll just keep it in the bottom of our closet.
And it's time folks to do some purging,
To do some decluttering of our beliefs and actually be willing to do the deep work that allows us to create a new belief system.
You are a sovereign being,
Your beliefs are yours,
Regardless of whether they were conditioned,
Inherited,
Or created along your experience,
You at some point are going to wake up and choose.
You're going to get enough power into your system to say,
This is what I choose.
And beliefs have to be bottom up work and top down work.
We're gonna do the top down work today that's easiest to do in a group circle in this kind of way.
Bottom up is more of a deeper somatic embodiment,
Subconscious kind of journey work.
And I find that to be best led one-on-one or not in such a public place so that we can dig in,
We have time to pause and really kind of dig into to what's coming up,
But we can do a lot of work from the top down as well.
And if we know that we've got 80,
000 beliefs happening and we begin to curate those or 80,
000 thoughts happening and those thoughts and repetition begin to affirm or create beliefs,
We can then use that to send that information down into the subconscious.
So to create a new belief,
It takes your willingness to curate your thoughts and to choose over and over and over again until that belief becomes rooted into your subconscious until it becomes the pre-conscious choice or the unconscious belief.
And so that might take saying something over and over and over against yourself,
Writing it in your journal over and over and over again.
One of the easiest ways to do that and what we'll do as we go through our process today is to write our explicit I am statements.
These I am statements are things that we choose and I write mine every single day in my journal.
They're not always the same necessarily.
I don't try and replicate the I ams,
But every day I remind myself of what I choose to believe about myself,
About the world,
About what I'm able to do,
About where I can expand,
Where I can lean into,
What I can let go of.
Every single day I remind myself of my beliefs.
And then when I get into crunchy parts of my day,
I might have to pull those beliefs out and remind myself,
Oh,
This is what I'm choosing to believe.
I'm not going to take the external circumstance and let that be evidence for what I don't want to believe.
I'm gonna let that be evidence of something else.
I'm gonna let it be evidence that's teaching me or guiding me or illuminating for me,
Either where I need to do more clearing,
Where I need to have more faith or confidence or whatever it might be.
So when we're gonna work with our beliefs in an active way,
We're gonna actively participate.
We're gonna partner with ourselves to be that self-supporting,
Self-approving,
Self-guiding system that we're meant to be,
Then we're going to have to change our mind about the information that we're drawing in from the external.
And this takes so much courage.
This takes so much courage to be willing to look at the world,
To be willing to look at the experience and sometimes to be willing to look at our feelings,
Right?
Because our feelings are indicators of our belief system.
And when we've been wired into fear-based belief,
There comes a place,
There's an old adage that says,
The body doesn't lie.
Well,
Yes and no.
So the body may not be lying.
And also that belief that the body has been holding might be a lot.
So I might not wanna believe all the fear that my body is holding when I recognize,
Wow,
I am really believing a lot of crap.
About myself,
About the world,
About my relationship,
About what I get to do,
About what's going on,
All those things,
Right?
So it takes deep,
Deep courage to be willing to root yourself into a level of support and self-responsibility that says,
I will partner with myself.
I will partner with myself to create a belief system that really works.
But here's why this is so,
So important,
Right?
Because a lot of us want to be able to do what we want to be living in our expansion.
We wanna be really living from our fullness and really who we are.
So let's imagine that that's the house that you live in.
Right,
You want a great house.
You want a house that really looks like you and feels like you and decorated like you and you can welcome your friends into,
Right?
But if you're not working with your belief system,
If you're not checking in on these unconscious fear-based beliefs and these domesticated beliefs and these enculturated beliefs that might not serve you,
You've got a faulty foundation.
Right,
And you can't build a beautiful house that's going to stand and be supported if you're building it on a crap foundation,
Right?
You know that little song that children sing?
The wise man builds his house upon the,
You're gonna do gestures,
Right?
And the foolish man builds his house upon the sand.
Right,
So this is our responsibility in our life.
When we wake up and when we're willing to say,
You know what,
It's my life.
I'm gonna create this.
I'm gonna live this life from my heart centered expansion.
I am going to take this adventure.
I'm gonna say yes to life.
And then we gotta get down into this foundation of beliefs.
And we've gotta initiate ourselves over and over and over again,
Right?
We've got to initiate this excavation,
Initiate this illumination and initiate this reconfiguring of a foundation that our beautiful mansion can rest upon,
Right?
And a mansion doesn't have to be like a big fancy McMansion.
Like it can be our perfect little tree house cottage.
Like it's your choice what your most perfect experience of life is,
Right?
And it's not about controlling the external.
We're not doing this to get the Lamborghini.
We're not doing this to become,
You know,
A seven figured blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Right?
Cause all of that is about controlling the dream,
Manufacturing our results.
What I'm talking about is you living from the fullness of you.
Now,
If the fullness of you includes the Lamborghini and a seven figure blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Aces,
No problem.
But if you're in pursuit of manipulating materiality for your egoic gain,
That's not the same,
Right?
And so this is where we get into really getting truthful about manifestation and the law of attraction.
So if we are wanting to attract things simply because they build more comfort for our egoic human self,
That is not a spiritual journey.
Now you can manipulate the laws in that way.
Absolutely,
Right?
Cause the truth of the law is immutable,
Right?
It is what it is.
However,
If you're interested in awakening,
If you're interested in your evolution and the transformation,
So that when you move from this life where you're not taking your Lamborghini,
But what you do take is the fullness,
The embodied wholeness of who you are,
Then that is why cultivating a belief system that moves from the truth of who your soul is,
Is so important.
Okay,
So let's do a little bit of work here at this new moon.
So when I was tuning in to sort of check in on our container and our collective about what beliefs we really wanted to look at,
Kind of three places to look came through.
And if you've got your journal,
You can just do some stream of consciousness writing.
You're also welcome to throw this into the comments box.
And you might resonate with these three statements.
You might resonate with just one of them,
That's fine.
This might spark something in you that gets you to write your own statement.
Totally good,
No worries how you work with it.
But what I'm curious about is your belief that is like,
I am too dot,
Dot,
Dot,
Right?
I am too much,
I am too little,
I am too loud,
I am too small,
I am too sensitive,
I am too whatever.
What are your two beliefs,
Right?
What are your two beliefs?
What is the belief that has you doubting your worth?
What is the belief that has you doubting your worth?
And where do you believe too little of yourself?
Where do you believe too little of yourself?
And so a great way,
So something may pop into you like immediately and this may be something that you've been aware of before again,
Like you're recognizing that,
Cracking your glasses,
Right?
Maybe even tried to mend it a few times,
Put some different things on there.
And if nothing's popping in,
Take a look at where life is right now.
Take a look at maybe what you're struggling with.
Take a look at what's happened over the past week and what's something that's created some tension in you.
What's something that's created some issues or you've been kind of stuck around and check in with your belief.
Where are you believing too little of yourself?
Where do you believe too little of yourself?
So we're looking for the beliefs about I am too,
Too much.
We've got too late,
Too sensitive,
Too emotional,
Right?
Where are you doubting your worth?
Where do you doubt your worth?
And where do you believe too little of yourself?
So as you come to that,
What I want you to do is you can just kind of dump a bunch of things down.
But what I'm curious about is for you to look and to identify which belief has the most kind of energy around it.
Like which one's got the energetic arrow pointing here?
This one,
This is it.
This is the key right here.
And so in a generic way,
We could all say that we probably hold a bit of a belief still about I am not enough,
I am unworthy,
I'm not good enough.
But I would love for you to get really specific about the language,
Right?
I am too hard to love.
Like that's really specific language that comes from you.
So when we're wanting to work through our beliefs,
If we just stay at kind of the generic level of I am unworthy,
We can do a little bit of work for certain,
For sure.
But even if that's where you need to start today,
What I want you to stay curious about is what is your,
What's the thought,
Right?
That's actually playing over and over in the back of your head,
Right?
That it's probably not just saying I am worthy.
It might be I am worthy because I always screw up or I am unworthy,
Whatever it is.
So try and get into the really specific language that comes from you so that you're working really directly with your system,
Right?
And you're gonna be able to get into the metaphor and the I am statements that are gonna best serve you in transforming this.
So what I want you to notice now is what is this belief creating in your life?
How is it having you look at the world and how is it having the world reflected back to you?
So what is it creating?
And this could be creating in your experience.
You might notice this in your relationships.
You might notice this in your body,
But like your relationship or your feelings about your body,
But also intention patterns,
Stress patterns.
You might notice this in your career.
You might notice this emotionally.
So what is this belief creating?
And a great thing to do,
We won't have time to do it in this session,
But a great thing that you could do is create a timeline for this belief.
So you began to sort of like,
Oh,
I noticed it today.
And oh my goodness,
I can see what that created three years ago.
And so you can kind of get a timeline.
So you can actually do a timeline clearing of that belief.
And so as you notice,
What is this belief creating in your life?
We have to get really raw.
There's another courageous place.
There's another really courageous place.
What are you gaining from this belief?
Now,
A lot of people will instantly answer this question and go,
Nothing,
I'm gaining nothing.
It's crap,
It's a crap belief.
And I'm not getting anything from it.
But the truth is we are absolutely gaining something.
We're not,
It may not be what we want to gain,
Right?
But also probably we're gaining something.
We're gaining an excuse.
We're gaining a way out.
We're often gaining the,
It's often something that we don't really want to admit to ourselves that secretly part of us is wanting or doesn't want to deal with or doesn't want to take responsibility for,
Right?
So it's often an excuse that we're gaining.
And sometimes these excuses or what we're gaining is really evident.
And sometimes it's actually,
Yeah,
Like a little upstairs,
Like,
Yeah,
Gaining sympathy for yourself.
Absolutely,
That can be something we're gaining.
And what happens is when we haven't had our needs met in a way that is more overt or more nourishing,
We will use these sabotaging beliefs or these ways.
When I was going through deep healing with my autoimmune,
I had to get really serious about my beliefs about being sick.
And one of the beliefs I uncovered was this belief that the only way I get support is if I'm sick.
So I can't receive,
So I didn't have a mechanism for receiving support unless I was sick.
So that meant that there was always gonna be a varying degree of illness in my system because that's how I got support,
Right?
And so as I've been on my journey to continue healing my body,
The first thing I had to do before I even really got deeply into healing my body was to heal my emotions and to heal this part of me that didn't believe she was worthy to receive unless she was flat out.
And I have women come to sessions with me all the time and they're like,
You know,
I'm not trying to need a session today cause I'm not really falling apart.
And I'm like,
Oh my goodness,
So perfect.
Let's work with that belief,
Right?
Because we don't believe that we're worthy to be supported,
To be seen,
To be held,
To be amazing,
Right?
And so we have these counter beliefs that have us being sick and burnt out and overworking and martyring ourselves.
You haven't listened to the replay of bullies,
Perfectionists and martyrs,
Go listen to that,
Right?
Cause you're gonna uncover a lot of beliefs there about where we're sabotaging ourselves,
Right?
So we want to know what we're getting from it.
And this can be a process with ourselves.
We're like,
I didn't wanna know that about me.
I didn't wanna be that way,
Right?
And yeah,
We don't wanna be that way.
We don't wanna be someone who can only receive when we're sick.
And yet I had to look at the evidence of my life and I had to be courageous enough to call myself on it and say,
You know what,
Elisha,
That's why,
That's one of the reasons,
That's one of the factors that's going into continuing to keep this illness rooted.
And it's multi-factored.
It's not that I was doing that to myself on purpose.
I know I wasn't,
There was a lot of factors.
There are a lot of factors involved there,
But that was a place that I could take 100% responsibility for what I was creating.
And I could begin to shift my belief around that.
And what that meant was that I could receive when I wasn't sick.
And that created up,
Freed up a lot of energy to focus on healing the physical parts of my body,
Rather than dealing with this emotional fear that,
Oh my gosh,
If I get better,
I may never get supported again.
And so when we're willing to be that courageous and raw and intimate with ourselves and come to these places of understanding both sides of what we're creating,
Like what that sabotage is creating,
What that suppression or that squelching is creating,
But also maybe what excuses are there or where we're meeting a need that we actually have a true need,
But we're meeting it in a way that's not serving us.
And this is really important.
And this is a place that I think a lot of people skip over when they want to work with a new belief system.
And we wanna do the sticky note version,
Which is that we just go to the big lofty thing,
Right?
So I go from,
I am not worthy to I am so worthy.
Well,
If my subconscious believed that I was so worthy,
Then I would be living that belief,
Right?
So I can't just gloss over everything that's inside of my system.
I gotta break it down.
I gotta metabolize it,
Right?
So that's why this is a gate of initiation because I have to give up that false way of meeting my need.
That's what I'm gonna give up at this gate.
I'm not gonna just give up that belief.
I'm gonna give up where it's not serving me and creating a perception of life that I'm only served if I'm sick.
I don't want to live that life,
Right?
So I'm gonna give that up.
And so my first shift in changing my belief is maybe not that lofty,
Just going,
Jumping to I am worthy.
In fact,
I want you to write your big lofty shift,
Right?
So if the belief is I am not worthy,
Right?
That's the current belief.
And the big lofty belief is like,
I am so worthy.
I'm amazing.
I'm the queen or king of the world,
Right?
So that's a beautiful lofty belief.
Excellent,
Write it down.
And then I wanna dial it back.
I wanna come at that.
So what I'm all about is we gotta make the transformation tangible,
Meaning that I've got to work with what my nervous system can meet right now,
Right?
If my nervous system was prepared to be,
I am the queen of the world,
Then I would be living there.
I can recognize from the fruits of my life,
I am not living as the queen of the world.
I don't believe that about myself.
So I need to start with right from where I am.
So what's the first shift that I can make,
Right?
And so when we get really clear about what we're creating and what we're getting from that belief,
That's usually the information we need about what's my first shift,
Right?
So for me and shifting that belief around being that I'm not gonna get supported,
The only way I get supported is if I'm sick,
The first shift around that was to say,
How can I receive right now?
So not qualifying whether I'm sick or not,
Right?
The first aspect was like,
Can I just be aware of receiving?
Can I be aware of what supported?
And then I got really clear,
What does support feel like?
Right,
So as you name that first shift that you wanna make,
I want you to tune in and to notice what is the feeling state you're wanting to create?
What is the feeling state that you want to be living in?
So kind of the overarching feeling state that I wanted to be living in was support,
But what does support really feel like?
Let me break it down more for myself.
What would it feel like to be supported?
I don't wanna bring as much of my sensory system to it as I can,
Right?
I don't wanna play with the game.
So support might not have a smell,
But I could play,
What if it did have a smell?
If support had a smell,
Oh,
It smells like apple pie.
Yummy,
Right?
What would support taste like?
What's the texture of support?
What's the color of support,
Right?
I wanna play with it with my senses and then I can bring it into my inner senses,
Right?
So then what does support feel like?
Oh,
It feels like tingles along my spine that are like an up swell.
Oh,
Support relaxes all of the front of my body so that it's open and supple.
And I can get to know this aspect,
Right?
So that I can learn to inhabit it,
Right?
Because again,
My feelings are going to be indicators of my belief.
So now I begin to recognize when I'm in the belief that I wanna be in,
I feel like,
Hmm,
I feel like an up swell.
I feel like a soft suppleness.
Oh,
Right.
When I'm in the belief,
I don't wanna believe,
I get crunch and my body and I'm,
Oh,
Sorry,
All of these things,
Right?
So I begin to notice how my body is showing me how my feelings are illuminating for me which belief system I am in,
Right?
So if we can begin to identify the feeling state and how they arrive into our body,
We begin to get really clear indicators around which belief we're in.
So I might not always be able to hear that thought that's running over and over and over again in my head,
Right?
We can learn to tune in to that.
But right now also,
It might be the most advantageous,
The quickest hack to get into noticing that belief is to find out how it lived in my body,
To notice when my body shifts into the belief I do not want and how do I keep inviting myself then to shift back towards the feeling state of the belief I do want to be cultivating,
Right?
And then from here,
You're gonna ask yourself,
How do I walk it out,
Right?
So how do I walk out this new belief,
Right?
So the lofty belief,
I am a queen,
I believe in the love myself.
And then my feeling state,
I am supported,
Right?
My first shift on that,
I am supported.
And then how do I create that in my life every day?
What am I doing to remind myself,
This is my truth,
This is what I believe.
So often we're willing to do this work in a session,
We'll even maybe do this work in our practice,
But then we get up and we leave it.
We leave it,
We go back to our daily life.
We just go back to it.
Yeah,
Here,
I will pop the questions into the chat so that you can keep writing.
So the first question,
The first thing we did is we named the belief.
And then we look at what is it creating?
And we looked at all of life examples.
So we can find that belief in many places.
And then next we got courageous,
We got real,
And we asked ourselves,
What am I getting from it?
And we looked at that from all sides.
So excuses,
We looked at it from meeting needs,
But in maybe not the,
Just meeting needs,
But not maybe in the way we want.
And then we looked at the belief in the belief meeting needs,
But not maybe in the way we want.
We look at the sabotages that we might be getting from it and anything else that we might notice that we're getting from it.
So that's where we are in our process.
Oh,
No,
Excellent,
No,
We went further than that.
So then we said,
What is the big shift into a new belief?
So what's the big lofty belief that we want to get to?
And then we dial it back and look at what is the first shift that we can make tangible?
And then we ask ourselves,
How can I walk it out?
So we're going to look at the first shift that we can make tangible.
And then we're going to look at the first shift that we can make tangible.
How can I walk it out?
What can I do to remind myself?
No,
Actually,
Before that,
We're going to look at the feeling states.
Feeling states of the shift and how that lives in the body.
So we're going to look at the first shift and see if it's really clear.
Then we're going to notice how do we walk it out?
Okay,
I don't know if it lets you copy and paste those.
We'll include those questions in the notes for this recording as well so that those of you who either come back to the recording or listening to the recording can have that list as well.
So what I want you to do now is write out three to five I am statements from your shift,
From the shift that you're going to make and the feelings that it is.
So the I am statement might be I am supported.
And I am able to feel an upswell of energy.
I am able to receive.
So what are the I am statements that you can identify right now?
And these I am statements become your personal mantra of beliefs.
When you've been an I am expert,
Rageosettings repsonation just to Digital rather than just letting my mind wander the fields unknown in that 80000 thoughts of like what's happening in there,
State I want to be living in.
I'm not just going to leave it to chance.
I'm not just going to trust that I'm not going to head towards a dark alley on accident.
If you've ever been lost in a city,
You accidentally end up in dark alley.
I'm not going to do that in my own inner landscape.
I'm not just going to say,
I'm not going to pretend that I maybe don't have a dark alley in there,
But I don't want to live in that dark alley.
I'm going to make sure that I am inviting myself these I ams become the map of walking out my new belief.
Yes,
I love that.
Use them as password,
Computer passwords.
Absolutely.
Put sticky notes in your cabinet.
So you open it up and you're like,
There's my I am statement.
Program them into your phone so they give you alerts every hour,
Right?
Do whatever you can to invite yourself to have this constant and continuous reminder.
Curating this new like,
Oh,
There's my new mirror.
That's right.
Oh,
Look,
Look at my pretty mirror.
Here it is.
Keep inviting yourself to consciously partner with this new belief.
All right?
So it's just not going to happen haphazardly.
We're going to do this work actively,
Right?
This is the top-down work,
Right?
So this takes our concentrated effort and commitment.
We don't just sit here and do this practice and then get up and leave this,
Right?
No,
No,
No,
No,
No.
You're going to actively implement.
Right?
So things that I do,
I build in these things to my life when I come to stop sign.
That gives me a cue to something.
When I walk through doors,
That's a cue for me to do something,
Right?
So I build in cues.
This is what I learned from being an improviser,
A dance improviser,
Was that I had to use my environment to cue different things because I can't always remember the whole score or the whole map in my head.
Right?
So when I walk through a door,
That's a cue to me,
Right?
You can build in cues however you want.
Oh,
When I go to wash my hands,
That's a cue to remind myself,
To tell myself,
I love you.
You're amazing.
You're doing such a good job.
You're doing so good.
You've got this.
You can totally do this.
I know it feels like crap right now,
Sweetie.
Right?
So you can also acknowledge what we're feeling in that moment.
Right?
So we're not going to bypass what we're feeling when it's not where we want to be.
We're going to say,
Oh my goodness,
Sweetie,
Honey.
Yes,
I know you've fallen back into that little ditch.
It's okay.
See you.
I see you.
It's all right.
Deep breath.
You've got this.
You've got this.
Let me love on you for a minute.
Right?
We're not going to berate ourselves.
We're not going to punish ourselves.
We're not going to enact more perfectionism on ourselves.
We're going to support ourselves.
Right?
We're going to support ourselves to find that new state,
That new belief.
But we're going to do it actively.
We're going to do it continuously.
We're going to keep bringing it forward.
All right.
So you've got your I am statements.
You are fantastic.
So I invited you to bring something to burn if you wanted to.
And I love doing this on the new moon.
And if you've got some scrap paper,
I of course did not set myself up to burn anything.
So I won't,
But I will do it maybe when I get off the call.
But you're welcome to take it.
Grab this little scrap sheet of paper.
And I love this ritual.
I love this ritual.
So here's the thing for me.
The ritual is the enactment of the energy.
Right?
So I'm going to,
So two things you could do that I love to do for new moon is to burn what I'm releasing and to bury or plant what I'm growing.
So I don't want to bury the old beliefs,
Right?
Because we put seeds in the ground so that they can grow.
Right?
Or you can put seeds in the,
We can't put things in the ground to decompose.
But I think we found in our landfills and things like that,
It takes a really long time to decompose.
So I think the fastest way to shift the energy is through fire,
The element of fire,
Right?
So we can write down those beliefs,
Those things that we're releasing and set them aflame.
If that is fun for you and that's a great ritual,
Then you're welcome to do that now or at another time.
You also can,
Yeah,
Write down your new beliefs and some of your I am statements and maybe put them in a little potted plant if you want to kind of seed them as well as another place to put them.
But what we're going to do right now is do that work and just a little bit of it on our inner landscape.
I'm going to invite you to close down your eyes if you're in a safe place to do that.
And just to begin to breathe a little more rhythmically.
So breathing in through the nose,
And you can breathe out through the nose or out through the mouth.
And maybe you're taking kind of a two-pulse.
So you're breathing in and breathing out.
And breathing in and find whatever rhythm or pulse works for you,
But just let it be rhythmic.
So that rhythm could be even,
Or the exhale could be a little bit longer.
The exhale might be twice as long as the inhale,
But then it's got some kind of rhythm that you're following.
You're feeling the pulsing.
You're finding that inner rhythm.
And then I want you to three times say the old belief.
And as you say it,
I want you to notice what you feel in your body.
Notice the posture or shape of your body.
Notice the sensations in your body.
Notice what gets closed down or maybe what goes numb.
Maybe you notice what power center you're working in.
However it arrives for you,
But just noticing.
And now bring your hand or two fingers to the center of your chest.
And begin to direct that rhythmic breathing into heart breath.
So imagining that the breath is moving in and out of the chest,
In and out of the heart space.
And then bring your awareness to the fire,
To the flame at the center of the heart.
And notice the image of your flame today.
It might be a beautiful candle.
It might be a roaring bonfire.
It might be a mystical fire on a mystical lake.
But the image of your heart fire arrive for you.
And then into this fire,
Into this flame,
Pour that belief.
See yourself pouring those words,
Whatever they are,
Into that fire.
Drawing up the sensations,
What you noticed in your body,
And pouring it into the fire.
Just giving over to your higher consciousness.
Just giving this belief that you want to shift over,
Surrendering it to your higher self,
To your eternal flame.
Take a deep breath into the nose and hold at the top.
And if you want to squeeze in the Mula Banda,
The perineum,
To invite that breath to be a little bit more activated on this hold,
You can do that.
And then exhale out the mouth,
Let it all go,
Big sigh.
And now remind yourself,
What is the new belief?
What's the shift?
And allow yourself to etch or inscribe with the fire this new belief.
Maybe you see yourself riding with a fire sparkler.
Or maybe your light becomes a strand of light that you shape into the words,
Using your imagination to create the images that best serve you.
What is the shift?
What's the new belief?
You might write this as your I am statement.
And then bring awareness to the feeling states.
How does this belief feel?
How does this belief feel?
Let your body anchor that in.
If this belief were a color,
A texture,
A light,
Can you let it fill up every cell of your body?
Letting every cell drink it in,
Becoming re-attuned to this new feeling.
And then letting this light in your heart,
This flame in your heart,
Expand to encircle all of your body.
So you're now in the cocoon,
The bubble of your own light.
And then just open to the frequency of gratitude.
Let yourself be flooded by grace and gratitude for your courageousness,
Your willingness to partner with this new moon energy to initiate yourself into a new belief,
To create a stronger foundation for your life,
So that you might show up in the world as the beacon of light you came here to see.
So that you might enact healing,
That you might shift your perception.
And you can place your hand upon your heart and your belly,
Or bring your hands into prayer position,
And just increase that gratitude for yourself,
Thanking this body for all that it does,
For being your home,
Your chalice,
Your vessel.
And then sending some of that love,
Some of that light around our community,
Around our circle.
This beautiful space we have together to create a conscious supportive community,
And then send that light further out into the world to all who need a support,
A bolstering,
A bit of grace right now.
Take a deep breath in through your nose again,
And hold,
Exhale,
Let it go.
Bring some gentle movement back into your body,
Blinking open those eyes.
So that's our inner ritual that can partner with the outer ritual.
And if you haven't burned anything and you want to do it now,
Go for it.
Go for it.
I thank you so much for the process that we've gone through today,
For your willingness to be here and to go through it.
If you joined late,
We will have the recording available in just a few days.
And I thank you for being curious about your beliefs and willing to go on this journey.
It's a really important one.

This was incredible! Such a practical and powerful way to break down belief. I really enjoyed the process and uncovered a lot about how I desire to live. Thank you for making this process so accessible and inspiring. I will return to again for sure! ❤️
