This is a simple meditation, perfect if you are transitioning from guided meditations to quiet sitting meditation. The goal is to embrace the wondrous qualities we can experience in silence and be at ease with them. Not favoring nor opposing all that arises, just being with ourselves and finding calm and tranquility. With love, Elaine

Sitting comfortably,

Begin to relax your body.

Identify the points of tension and see if you can ease those parts just a little bit.

Perhaps relaxing the shoulders,

The shin,

The muscles of your face.

Try for a few seconds,

Sitting comfortably in awareness.

Closing our eyes and focusing our attention in our preferred anchor.

It can be the breath,

The rise and fall of the belly,

Or the chest.

The tip of the nose where the breath meets the body for the first time.

Or maybe it's the hands sitting comfortably in your thighs.

Identify that anchor and connect with it for a few seconds.

Breathing in and knowing that you are breathing in and breathing out,

Knowing you're breathing out.

Breathing comfort in your body,

In the space,

And in the silence you are creating.

Breathing out and knowing that you are breathing in and out.

Breathing out and knowing that you are breathing in and out.

When your mind wanders with thoughts or get distracted by the sounds around,

Just bring in your awareness back to your anchor.

Breathing out and knowing that you are breathing in and out.

We remember that we can sit comfortably with silence.

Remembering that silence can be a great teacher and remembering also that silence allows us to explore our world within.

Take in a few seconds more to sit comfortably in silence.

Breathing out and knowing that you are breathing in and out.

Breathing out and knowing that you are breathing in and out.
