Hi my friend.
You don't get a gold star for constantly being on the go or always being busy.
You can let go here.
Allow yourself to sink into whatever's holding you.
Maybe close your eyes if that would feel right to you.
Big audible exhale,
Breathe in,
Let yourself be heard,
Exhale.
Inhale fully,
Set it free,
Start to feel the pressure release.
You are not here to be in a constant state of doing.
Really sink into the non-doing right here.
Just your inhale,
Just your exhale.
You always do enough my friend,
Even when you slow down and do nothing at all.
Let yourself really sink into the stillness,
Really feel this pause.
There is nothing to fix or figure out,
Nothing to do,
No one to talk to,
No expectations of you.
Nicola Jane Hobbs writes,
Growing up,
I never knew a relaxed woman.
Successful women,
Yes.
Productive women,
Plenty.
Anxious and afraid and apologetic women,
Heaps of them.
But relaxed women,
At ease women,
Women who aren't afraid to take up space in the world.
Women who prioritize rest and pleasure and play.
Women who give themselves unconditional permission to relax,
Without guilt,
Without apology,
Without feeling like they need to earn it.
I'm not sure I've ever met a woman like that,
But I would like to become one.
I would like all of us to become one.
Breathe around that,
Inhale,
Maybe placing a hand or two over your heart.
You are free to be a relaxed human.
You can be successful and impactful and still slow down often.
Allow this to sink into your bones.
You are not here to busy your way out of your life.
Inhale deeply,
Let it go.
Instead of asking yourself,
Have I worked hard enough to deserve rest,
Ask yourself,
Have I rested enough to do my most loving,
Meaningful work?
Can you feel your slow,
Steady nervous system becoming the most important part of you?
Your nervous system is the indicator of a successful day.
You are here to slow down,
To be here for your life,
To be a relaxed human.
Inhale deeply,
Let it all go.
Just be here in the magic of this moment a little longer.
Really connect with your slow,
Steady breath,
Your slow heartbeat.
You are always worthy of the slowing down,
The non-doing.
Breath in as you open your heart,
Exhale dropping your shoulders,
Continue to feel this steady slow energy as you welcome yourself back into your space.
Let it be slow,
Blinking your eyes open if they were closed.
Take your sweet time now and return to this practice whenever you need.
Go slowly,
From my heart to yours.
