Sometimes, the most healing thing we can do is go outside. In this meditation, let's step into the fresh air together and breathe in all that Mother Nature has to offer. Feel free to take this meditation on a walk, lay in the grass, or sit on your patio. Nature has such a beautiful way of soothing our nervous systems and helping us steady our world within. Let's tap into that today.

This meditation is for you to enjoy outside in nature,

Maybe on a walk,

Or if you'd like,

Go ahead and just lay down in the grass or sit up against a tree,

Whatever makes sense for you.

Either way,

Just make sure to be outside.

As you greet the outdoors,

Notice the temperature.

Notice if you can feel or hear any breeze.

Notice the earth around you,

Slowly taking in all the colors around you.

Seeing the grass or the rocks,

Seeing the trees and all the branches,

The leaves or the lack of leaves.

Just taking in your beautiful surroundings,

Breathing in slowly,

Exhale,

Let it go.

As you continue to deepen your breath,

Just allow your gentle gaze to follow whatever is in sight,

Tracing the outline of the trees,

The grass,

Or maybe the clouds in the sky,

Or maybe you're lucky enough to witness mountains or a lake,

Tracing the outline of what you see,

Breathe in,

Exhale,

Simply witnessing nature in the season that it's in.

Feeling grateful to exist here at the same time,

Allowing whatever season you're in to exist as well,

Without any judgment,

Just being here with it all.

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

Feeling grateful for all the parts that make nature a whole living breathing thing.

The same goes for you,

Recognizing what makes up you,

And finding acceptance and peace.

What lesson can nature teach you in this moment?

Maybe it's as simple as it's okay to change,

Or every season doesn't last forever.

Deepening your breath as you feel your surroundings soothe your soul,

Breathe in,

Exhale.

Morgan Harper Nichols writes,

Dear weary and worried one,

There's a lot going on right now,

And maybe you've found yourself staying up at night trying to sort it all out,

But even here,

May you know this to be true,

You don't have to.

You're allowed to fall into rest right here,

Even though you do not know what is going to happen yet.

There is absolutely no way of knowing what tomorrow will look like,

But you are free to live fully and make the most of this life,

Breath into breath,

Thought into thought,

One moment at a time.

Feeling the grace pouring in on your heavy,

Burdened mind,

Experiencing peace that goes beyond all understanding,

Learning night after night,

Day after day,

It is okay to take time to be okay.

Allow yourself to really fall into rest right here,

Feeling held by nature,

So supported,

Your season shifting,

So many things changing without even realizing it,

You're always evolving,

Growing,

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

Notice the you that is here now,

Feeling maybe a subtle shift just from stepping outside,

Noticing how your nervous system feels now,

Notice the clarity of your mind,

Thank you nature,

Thank you body,

Thank you heart,

How beautiful it is that you decided to step outside,

To step inside of you,

To return back to you,

It's always an option,

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

From my heart to yours.

I was feeling so over stimulated inside. I stepped out even with the rain and came across this meditation. Thank you.

A beautiful way to integrate time in nature, a walking meditation and rest.

I am recovering from a bout of pneumonia over past ten days and was very restless to get back outside. This meditation was the perfect companion to my hike to experience the joy and gratitude for nature. Thank you Eileen!
