Hi my friend.

This is a meditation on self-abandonment.

I know the feeling of wanting to avoid feelings or choosing to not express yourself because you want to keep the peace.

This meditation will help you remember that self-abandonment does not keep you safe.

You can choose to stay.

You can choose to stop abandoning yourself and instead choose to allow yourself to be known,

Seen,

Heard,

Loved and cared for.

Begin to narrow your focus inward,

Allowing everything to fade away.

Letting it just be you and your mind,

Your heart,

Your lungs.

Breathe in slow.

Sigh it out.

Follow your breath in.

Follow your breath out.

Notice how the breath can soothe your nervous system.

Every inhale,

Every exhale reminds you that you are here.

You are safe.

How often do you find yourself abandoning all that you are?

I know it feels easier to disappoint ourselves instead of disappointing others.

I know it feels easier to avoid,

To not turn toward ourselves.

Inhale deeply and let it go.

Alex L.

Writes,

You cannot keep abandoning yourself for the comfort of others and expect to walk in alignment with your purpose.

Choosing to be anyone but yourself will keep you small and stuck in unhealthy cycles.

You cannot keep abandoning yourself for the comfort of others.

Self abandonment does not keep us safe.

It keeps us small.

May you release shrinking to fit into boxes that never belonged to you in the first place.

Can you release shrinking to make other people feel comfortable?

My friend,

Your light is too bright to dim.

My friend,

You are safe to show up as your full self.

Inhale.

Exhale.

If it feels okay,

Start to visualize you walking toward you.

Seeing yourself maybe seated on the earth or in a chair.

And as you walk closer to yourself,

You notice that there is space for you or there is another chair for you to sit.

Self abandonment is choosing to walk right by yourself.

It's choosing to avoid,

Ignore.

But now you choose.

As you walk toward yourself,

You know it is time to take a seat.

You finally choose to meet yourself.

You finally choose to sit and look into the eyes of yourself.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

And as you finally choose to pay attention,

There's this feeling of love,

Acceptance,

And inner peace.

Maybe you reach out and grab your own hands gently.

What is it that you need to hear?

What would you whisper to yourself to know that self abandonment is no longer an option?

Really feel how it feels to be in your own awareness.

To choose to stay no matter how big the feelings get.

I am here.

I am allowed to be seen.

I am safe.

The opposite of self abandonment is self love.

Feel the warmth of your own love,

Your own presence.

Allow this interaction to grow between you and you.

Let it unfold beautifully.

Let it heal you.

Really solidifying in this moment that you will never avoid you again.

You will never abandon.

You will continue to strive to return and see yourself.

Really take in this feeling of meeting your own heart.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

May you continue to ask yourself,

Does it lead you closer to you?

Or does it pull you further away?

Does it feel like self love?

Or does it feel like self abandonment?

Only you know.

Inhale slow.

Exhale releasing this vision.

But still feeling all the feelings that came with it.

I am safe.

I am seen.

I am heard.

I am loved.

It is safe to turn toward myself.

Inhale.

Exhale.

If your heart could whisper something to you,

What would it say?

Slowly finding movement maybe.

Rolling your shoulders a couple times.

Rocking your head side to side.

Maybe inhale as you reach your arms out and up,

Taking up space,

Expanding upward.

Exhale,

Drop your hands to your heart.

Feel your heart beating for you.

Feel this reconnection.

Breath in.

Breath out.

From my heart to yours.

I absolutely loved this meditation! The soft spoken words, the gentle background music, and the long periods of silence that allowed me to really dig deep and connect with myself in a meaningful way without feeling rushed. Thank you, I needed this! 🙏🏻
