Hi there.
This meditation is for you if you've been finding yourself thinking and focusing only on what you feel might go wrong.
This is also known as catastrophic thinking.
Feeling like the worst is going to happen or only focusing on the negative.
I know it's easy to fall into this trap.
My hope is this meditation can shift your mindset even just a little bit and help ease your worries and your anxieties.
And maybe,
Just maybe,
You can find a little more hope and peace and a little more positive thinking.
Slowly find a comfortable place to land.
Listen to what your body desires.
Maybe you'd like to be seated or lay down.
This is your practice so you choose your meditation posture and you're free to adjust.
You can close your eyes if that feels okay and start to bring your gentle awareness inward.
Noticing if your breath feels shallow and constricted.
If your thoughts have been negative and filled with fear and anxiety,
The body tends to respond.
Are you breathing deeply or are you forgetting to breathe?
Really slowly deepening your breath.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale,
Sigh it out the mouth.
If you'd like you can place one hand on your heart,
One hand on your belly to really feel the breath.
Feel the lungs expand.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Breathing and arriving in this very moment.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Every single breath helps you land safely right here.
We're in this very,
Very moment.
Everything is okay.
You're safe.
You're held.
Gently begin to shift into observing the mind.
What has been your strongest thought?
What catastrophic thought or fear has been on repeat in your mind?
And as you sit here can you take a moment to recognize where maybe this thought came from?
My friend,
These big,
Scary,
Intrusive,
Fear-filled thoughts are sometimes there to protect us or maybe even keep us small.
The very fact that you're here creating awareness and you're recognizing that these thoughts are not serving you is enough hope in itself.
And you can free your mind from these thoughts.
Slowly can you shift from all the what-ifs to what is.
What is true right here?
Instead of focusing on all that is going wrong,
What is going right?
What is going well?
Slow breath in,
Exhale.
Can you open your heart and your mind?
Take in these beautiful words by Brianna Wiest.
What if there is a path for you that is greater than you can envision?
What if there is a life for you that is more than you would ever even know how to ask for?
What if you are inherently and unknowingly limited by your old perspectives,
Your outdated ideas of what is possible?
What if all the discomfort within your being is simply trying to redirect you to a place beyond anything you've considered before?
What if there is more than you know?
What if there are things out there so good you don't even know you're waiting for them?
What if it all goes really well?
What if there is so much good coming your way?
Can you flip the switch?
Can you believe that you are worthy of all that is good and that you are held and supported and your path is greater than what you can envision?
Feeling this energy of trust and hope.
Breathe in gently.
Exhale.
Imagining yourself letting go of all the thoughts that don't serve you.
No longer collaborating with these thoughts.
No longer giving them energy or attention.
Good things are coming.
If you haven't already and it feels okay,
Place your hands over your heart.
Notice maybe a gentle shift within you,
Within your energy,
Within your thoughts.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Thanking your mind for trying to protect you.
Feeling into your heart and knowing deeply that nothing is too good for you and everything will be okay.
We'll take one more cleansing breath together.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Keep coming back to what is versus what if.
You got this my friend.
From my heart to yours.
