Our relationship with our body can be so challenging. Trust me, it's something I still struggle with on a consistent basis. Often, I find my relationship with my body is at its worst when I'm solely focused on how my body looks. In this meditation, practice healing your relationship with your body by focusing on what your body does for you not how it looks. I'll walk you through a body scan and we'll focus on viewing our bodies with gratitude and appreciation.

Gently make your way into a space that feels really supportive.

Taking a moment to listen to what your body needs,

What posture is calling your name.

Practicing listening to our bodies.

You can keep your eyes open,

Resting your gaze on something around you or out at nature.

You can close your eyes if that feels okay.

Allow your hands to rest naturally where they'd like to go or maybe place one hand on your heart,

One hand on your belly.

Gentle inhale through your nose,

Gentle exhale out your mouth.

Breathing in,

Exhale.

Feeling your awareness move from your overthinking mind into your heart,

Into your body.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Relaxing your forehead,

Your jaw,

Releasing any grip you have.

Feel the shoulders soften,

Feel your body root down into whatever is holding you.

Feeling safe and grounded,

Supported,

Held.

Bring awareness to your forehead,

Your temples,

Your mind.

Thank you mind for allowing me to think,

To process.

Even though every thought we have may not be helpful,

We can still find acceptance and gratitude for our minds.

Awareness to your eyes.

Thank you eyes for allowing me to see,

To look into the eyes of others,

To take in the beauty of this world.

I will use you to see clearly and I will strive to see myself with more love,

More acceptance and a more neutral approach.

Moving into your lips,

Your jaw.

Thank you mouth for allowing me to smile,

To speak,

For allowing me to enjoy my favorite food and drink.

Bring your awareness to your heart and your arms all the way down to your fingertips.

The arms are extensions of the heart.

Thank you arms for allowing me to hug others.

Thank you for allowing me to carry what I love,

To hold books,

To open doors.

Bring your awareness to your belly,

Your stomach.

Thanking this place for digesting,

For creating life,

For being the space within you where you trust your gut.

Thanking this space that is so close to your spine,

Your back.

Allowing you to twist and fold and move and to stand tall.

Bring awareness to your legs all the way down to your feet,

Your toes.

Thank you legs for holding me,

For carrying me through this life,

For helping me walk to my favorite places,

Climb beautiful mountains,

Dance and move with joy.

Breathe in,

Exhale.

Gently focus on a part of your body that is really hard to accept or love and see if instead you can focus on how this part of you functions.

What gift this part of your body gives you.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

My friend,

Your looks are the least interesting thing about you.

Society will try to convince you that being beautiful is a big flex,

But the biggest flex is knowing yourself,

Is being kind to yourself.

The biggest flex is learning how to be your own home,

How to heal the parts of yourself no one claps for.

The biggest flex is making people feel safe within your energy,

Is making them feel seen and special and heard in this world.

The biggest flex is being present and being the kind of person who cares.

Truly connecting with how your life feels rather than focusing so deeply on what it looks like,

What you look like.

Because external beauty means nothing if you are bankrupt on the inside.

Beautiful things are vanishing each day.

Do not let your soul become one of them.

Your looks are the least interesting thing about you.

The biggest flex or the biggest success in your life will be becoming the soul that you are meant to be and your body just holds your soul.

Your soul.

Feeling gratitude.

Thank you body.

Thank you body.

Thank you body.

May you focus on healing your relationship with your body through focusing on function and gratitude.

Breathe in gently.

Let it all go.

Just noticing how you feel in this moment.

Being gentle with your mind and your body.

Knowing that you are a soul to know and love.

And you are not loved because of how you look.

You are loved because of the energy and the beauty within you that radiates from within.

And what a gift it is to be alive and to have a body and to experience this life.

Breathe in.

Exhale.
