In this meditation, Ed shows us a simple yet natural way to ignite our joyous nature and feel the power of this elemental emotion to create, rebirth, and uplift every aspect of our lives. Inherent in the act of manifestation, from the formless to the form, we discover that JOY is the first expression of desire, creation, and fulfillment.

Hi there,

And welcome.

This is Ed,

And I want to invite you to this meditation on Opening and Rebirthing the New You.

This is a special time of year for so many reasons.

We could look at it religiously,

Spiritually,

Through our own denominations.

December,

January is an incredible time of the year for creation,

For rebirth,

For redesigning,

Reintending our lives,

Reintending our intentions,

Our desires.

So in this meditation,

That's our goal.

Our goal is to touch in to who we really are,

And begin to create an opening to use these wonderful frequencies that are around us right now to recreate our life in any way we wish,

In any form that we desire,

Without any limitation,

Without any hesitancy,

From the deepest and fullest expression of who we are.

So,

With our eyes closed,

Let's just become aware of our breath.

Just notice how wonderful it is to breathe,

How breathing in through our nose and filling our lungs,

It's a life-affirming action,

It's invigorating,

It's enhancing.

The prana,

The energy,

And the oxygen that we breathe,

Gives us life.

And on your next breath,

Try to take a deeper,

But comfortable breath,

Breathing in through the nose,

Slowly,

Easily,

And watching it transform into an exhale.

Watching it,

Not judging,

Just watching,

Feeling.

The lungs move,

The air in the windpipe,

If you breathe diaphragmically,

Feeling your stomach move.

One more deep breath,

And now just watch how your breath returns to its own cadence.

Yes.

And of course the intention is that the mind is secondary,

That the major portion of our attention is on feeling the breath.

And if the mind should come in with a thought,

We just say,

Thank you mind,

But I'll return to my breath.

It's easy,

It's effortless.

Do you notice yourself getting quieter and quieter?

Greater spaces between your thoughts or no thoughts at all?

Just allow yourself with the minimal amount of effort to drift in.

If it feels comfortable,

The sensation of just falling within,

Floating within,

Like a feather gently descending into a beautiful beam of light,

Which is you.

In this quietness you might notice that there's somebody,

Some consciousness watching all of this,

A witnessing.

There's a witness within us all,

An awareness,

Watching.

You may get a faint hint of this witness.

It may be very subtle.

It may be very obvious.

We again just let it in and then just go back into the quiet.

Because what we're falling into,

What we're,

What this feather is floating down into,

Is the deeper,

Quiet,

Infinite levels of who we really are.

Who we are as well.

We're not just the mind and the body,

The intellect.

We are a quiet,

Infinite silence.

Yes.

You might even discover with a tiny help of your quiet mind that this infinite nature is joyous,

Is infinite love,

Infinite expression of you.

Without the mind clouding you with worry or fear or unknown,

You find that without the mind,

You are an infinite expression of yourself,

Of joy.

This is a great discovery,

Is it not?

And even at this point,

At this juncture,

Just the mere intention of joy could open the doors.

The flood gates would open and you would begin to feed and feel into a deep part of you that supports you.

It supports all that you are.

It supports all that you want to be.

You're touching into the source that enables you to wake up every day with love,

With hope,

With expectation,

With the joy.

And sometimes you wake up with some disappointment,

Some sadness,

But soon you find as you allow it to move through you,

The joy is still beneath that.

So let's take a few minutes now just to feel into that joy.

Good.

Now staying in this quiet place,

I'd ask you to gently,

Mindfully imagine that you're in one of your most favorable places,

A place where you feel safe and comfortable.

Maybe it's your study,

A special chair in your meditation room.

I want you to imagine you're sitting there in this beautiful,

Warm,

Comfortable place in wearing your most comfortable clothes,

Feeling the joy of being exactly where you want to be,

Wearing what you want to wear,

Sitting where you want to sit.

And from there,

I'd like to invite you gently as you keep a part of your attention on the quietness,

I want you to allow your mind gently to create form.

I want you to imagine something that you love to do,

Something that gives you great excitement,

Great joy.

It can be anything.

It could be just a way of living.

It could be a way of working,

Making money,

Relating to your loved ones,

To life,

To being in the world.

But make sure that it brings you joy.

In your mind's eye,

See yourself doing this activity.

Imagine if maybe you've never done it before,

And allow yourself to feel the imagined joy of this activity.

Again,

It might just be listening to music,

Or looking at art,

Or writing,

Or creating,

Whatever.

The emphasis is on feeling the joy,

And watch what happens inside of you.

Feel what happens inside of you.

It's as if you've ignited a portal of joy to come from that unexpressed,

Silent part of you into form.

Don't try to make sense of the form.

Just feel it and enjoy it.

The joy you are feeling is the very first manifestation of your purest essence going from formless to form.

And this is a magnificent creation that I want and encourage you to just feel.

Asking the mind not to make sense of it.

And maybe you will notice that this one joyous idea leads to another,

And then another,

As your infinite joy tries to become infinite in your life of form.

You're watching the birth of creation.

You've removed the barriers to see this so clearly now.

Feel the excitement.

Know that this joy is who you are.

That this joy is a deep message from your deep silence saying,

This is who I am.

This is what I'd love to do.

Hear the call.

And listen.

Again,

It does not have to make sense.

Your joy is a synchronistic energy and vibration that will bring more joy to you will bring more of this unconditional you into creation,

As long as you don't judge it.

As long as you don't look for it to lead to something,

To become something other than what it is,

Pure joy.

The mind may say it must become something,

But just allow yourself to allow it to be.

Yes.

Let's take a few minutes to sit with our joy and our joy-ess expressions.

Good.

And now let all the thoughts just dissolve and float away.

And in the silence,

The new mantra is I am joy.

I am pure joy.

I am love.

I am infinite.

I am.

And in all this I am-ness,

I am safe.

No matter what happens.

Imagine the most wonderful warm smile is coming out of your heart right now.

Imagine a smile as your heart realizes who you really are,

Who you always have been,

And who you will always be.

So when you're ready,

In a very gentle way,

You can come back to the room,

Come back to your body,

Gently moving and wiggling your hands and your toes,

Feeling the joy that you found and knowing that it's yours and available to you whenever you want it.

Beautiful.

Thank you.

Such a powerful practice. I found myself both emotional and full of a joy I didn’t know I had within.
