Hi,
This is Ed,
And welcome to this meditation on compassion,
Connection,
And confidence.
How to grow it and sustain it in your life so that your days are beautiful,
Your days don't lack your self-love for yourself,
For your criticism.
In this meditation,
We're going to discover that compassion,
Connection,
And confidence is already within us.
It's not a matter of building it or finding it.
It has to do with allowing what's already there to come out.
So let's just close our eyes for a moment and take a nice deep breath.
As you breathe,
Feel your lungs filling with air as much as you can hold comfortably and allow yourself to let it go.
With every exhale,
Allow yourself to feel the relaxation that occurs within your body.
Good.
Let's take another deep breath,
And this time,
Let's put our hand over our heart and just feel our lungs expand as we inhale.
We feel our hand moving within as we exhale.
Good.
Feel what's going on in your body right now.
Feel the tension,
If it's there,
And invite it and allow it to release.
Scan your body for any sensations,
Good or bad,
And allow yourself to indulge in yourself.
Allow yourself to take this time to take care of yourself.
You deserve it.
Deep down inside,
You may question it,
But ultimately,
We go for it,
Don't we?
Yes.
So just allow yourself to feel this deepness within you,
This quietness within you,
And we're off to a good start.
Notice that your body's beginning to settle down.
You're closing your eyes,
You're taking yourself out of activity,
And you can feel your body relax.
Follow the movement of your breath,
Your normal breath,
And watch how just paying attention to your breath is calming and soothing.
And just know and affirm to yourself that right now,
I'm willing just to sit here,
Forgo everything else,
And just feel my body.
I'm willing to be kind to myself.
Is this not true?
Yes.
Every day you wake up,
And you're kind to yourself,
Usually.
You wake up and say,
I'm going to have a good day today.
You don't have to think about wanting a good day.
It's inherent within you.
And although it's subtle,
It is self-love.
It is self-compassion to want to have a good day.
It's self-compassion to want to be loved by others.
Yes,
And it is self-compassion to want to be with others and to enjoy yourself.
It's just that the mind,
Being busy and criticizing,
Puts a block that doesn't allow us to feel it.
But right now,
In wherever you are in this sacred space,
You're allowing yourself.
You're loving yourself.
Feel how wonderful it is to love yourself.
Feel how confident it is that you can love yourself.
Even though the world may not support you in every way,
You can support yourself.
You are in charge of yourself.
You determine how you feel about yourself.
And I'm just encouraging you to feel more inclined to believe yourself than the world when it comes to how deserving am I,
How confident I should be.
Yes.
Now,
With your hand over your heart,
I just want you to feel the warm presence of your heart that may have loved long ago and was hurt,
Yes,
And torn,
Yes,
But it's still exists.
Do you not still wake up every day and desire love and connection and confidence?
Where do you think that desire comes from?
It comes from deep inside of you.
And just because you don't know how or why it's there doesn't mean that it's not valuable or less important.
You don't know how you digest your food,
Do you?
You don't know how you get rest in the middle of the night.
It just happens.
And so if you can get quiet and become silent,
Then you can feel this love,
This self-love,
This self-confidence.
And as you begin to develop it by taking the time to do this meditation,
Then you will grow in confidence,
Self-connection,
And self-compassion.
You don't need to put wood in this fire.
It's already lit.
It was given to you by your creator.
Imagine you're walking through your world and everywhere you go,
You're looking for that special one,
Maybe,
Or that situation at work where you can shine,
That opportunity.
Good.
And just say to yourself,
I'm here for myself.
Look at that.
I'm sitting here.
Doing this meditation with Ed.
I'm here for myself.
And my heart is safe with me because I will no longer let anyone diss me or put me down.
I will no longer believe them.
They can say what they want,
But I don't have to believe it.
No.
I believe what my heart is telling me,
Which is go out and find love,
Go out and have fun,
Go out and love.
Don't be afraid.
And I can trust that.
And I can have confidence that if I believe in myself,
My heart's desires are possible.
Yes.
My past does not define me.
I could have been wounded,
Had horrible parents or tough relationships in the past.
But that does not define my future.
I can tell you it didn't define my future.
And I kept believing in myself and I have my clients believing in themselves.
Believing in what they feel inside of themselves.
We may fail out there.
We may not be the best,
The sharpest knife in the drawer,
As they say.
But we're human and we can believe and love ourselves.
No matter how sharp we are.
And my confidence and love and compassion will grow naturally out of kindness.
The more I love myself,
The more willing I am to love myself more.
And if I can love people outside of myself,
I can certainly love myself.
So let's carry that message deeper into ourself right now.
I'd like you to repeat after me a mantra that has served me and my clients endlessly.
Are you ready?
Say to yourself,
I am loved.
I am lovable.
And I am loving.
I am loved.
I am lovable.
And I am loving.
And I am loving.
You can believe that it's real and it comes from you.
If it comes from you,
You control it.
No matter what happens to you,
No matter what your day is like,
You can still close your eyes,
Do this meditation and know and be confident and be connected to yourself because you are loved.
You are lovable.
And you are loving.
And what you will find is that you love yourself even if you don't know it.
Even if you can't remember it every minute of the day.
Yes.
And what you do naturally is loving to yourself.
Unless your mind gets in the way,
And then you could remember that unloving feeling and say,
Oh,
My mind is telling me something different.
But that's not true.
I can close my eyes right now.
Listen to Ed's voice on this meditation and remember that that's not what I am.
I am loved.
I am lovable.
I am loving.
And your body knows this too.
Although it's filled with wounds and scars and tension from the past,
If you take a moment and feel your body and invite it to release,
You will feel the sensations in your body turn into calm,
Loving,
Connected.
And yes,
Confident that this is who I am.
So,
Take a deep breath.
Remember the mantra.
I am loved.
I am lovable.
And I am loving.
And tell yourself this mantra as often as you can remember.
Because when we're loved,
Lovable,
And loving,
The companions to love,
Lovable,
And loving are connectedness,
Kindness,
Compassion,
And confidence.
When you love yourself,
You create it.
Okay,
Now slowly come back and open your eyes.
Take another deep breath and feel your body.
Feel the sensations in your body.
Feel your mind and body much calmer,
Much more connected and confident.
And don't forget this feeling.
And don't forget to come back to this meditation whenever you feel that the world is shaking you up.
Come back and remember who you really are.
Take care.
Blessings to you.
You are loved.
You are lovable.
And you are loving.
