Confidence is the expression of self acceptance. Some of us are lucky to feel that as young children and many of us find ourselves still searching for it in adult life. Looking for acceptance out in the world can be tricky because we have no control over other people and outside circumstances but we CAN find a profound sense of self acceptance deep within us. In this audio you will discover how it's done.

Hello and welcome once again.

This is Ed and I wanted to share with you this audio about self-confidence.

It's something that we so desperately need today.

So many people are not feeling the confidence in themselves because they've been told for so long,

Starting out from being a young child,

That they're not good enough,

That they're not smart enough,

That they're not pretty enough,

That they're not the favorite child.

All these things not meant to hurt us but coming out of their own personalities,

Our parents left us with a sense of not knowing who we are.

And when we don't know who we are or we're told that we're something else that doesn't feel intrinsically in our integrity,

We doubt ourselves and self-confidence then bleeds into every aspect of our lives,

Be it work,

Be it relationships,

Be it in the way we treat ourselves,

Trust ourselves.

So in this meditation I'm going to lead you into a state of knowing a true part,

An unflinching,

Non-temporal part of yourself,

Something that's always there.

A peaceful,

Calm,

Loving,

Creative,

Intelligent part of ourselves that's always there,

Always available to us,

Only it hasn't been because we've been so worrisome and our mind has taken over with fears,

Fearful thoughts and worries.

So without further ado,

Let's do this incredible meditation.

So in this meditation I'm going to show you how you are going to balance the mind and body,

Free the mind of thoughts that inhibit you and allow the emotions to release.

What's going to come up from that is an awareness of who you really are and when you experience who you are,

You develop a natural trust of yourself,

An integrity.

It's not an integrity that you know,

Like a fact that lodges in the mind,

It's an integrity that you feel,

A proprioceptive experience and that's where we're going.

So I would like to ask you to sit comfortably and close your eyes.

Make sure that your hands are supported in your lap,

You're sitting up so you don't have a tendency to fall asleep.

Close your eyes and become aware of your breath.

Take a nice deep breath in through the nose,

Out through the mouth once again.

Notice,

Feel how wonderful it is to breathe,

Bring oxygen into the body and with every exhalation you're releasing stress and strain.

Yes,

Good.

Now continue breathing and just allow yourself just to fall in.

I say in metaphorically,

Going within maybe going without but you're losing sense of where you are,

Where your hands are.

You're going into a quiet nature.

Many of you meditate,

You're going into welcome that meditative state.

Good.

Notice how your rib cages rise and your stomach rises with the breath and contracts with the exhalation,

More stress leaving the body.

Begin to notice that there's a quietness inside of you,

A powerful singular quiet stillness that is your nature.

It's an infinite nature filled with energy,

Clarity,

Focus,

Love and your feeling more and more as you go within the true nature of who you are.

Your mind may come in and try to say to you,

Oh this is because of this or that.

Oh,

You can't do this because oh see it's not working.

Just tell your mind,

Hey,

Thank you and just ask your mind to take a hike and just go back to your breath,

Not pushing or fighting the thought away but just innocently putting your attention on the breath because you want to go in deeply.

I'm going to give you a half a minute or so to go even deeper and then we'll go from there.

If you've just joined us,

Please close your eyes and practice a form of your meditation and allow yourself to go in.

You haven't missed anything.

Good.

Now in this quietness,

In this space between your thoughts or this absolute quietness,

I want you to go back in time when you can first remember an incident in which you thought that you weren't enough or that there was something wrong with you or that you had doubted or told this confusing sensation of you're stupid or you're not enough or you're not pretty enough or you need to do more.

Go back in time.

Do your best using your mind.

Of course,

Now your mind is going to be active.

Where were you?

Who was there?

See how fine you can get it.

What time of day was it?

What were you wearing?

And remember the incident.

I'm going to give you a few minutes to do that.

Alright.

Good.

Yes,

You're kind of reliving it,

Aren't you,

In a memory.

And are you noticing that as you relive the memory,

The mental component of it,

That something is going on in your body?

Do a body scan.

Feel with your mind different parts of your body.

Is there a part,

Is there a section of your body that's feeling tense,

Tight,

Tingling,

Hurting,

Tightness.

Go to that part of your body that is the component that is wanting to wake up right now because you remembered the incident and there's that anchor tied to it and it is waking up.

And now you have the opportunity to feel it.

Now's the time to say to the mind,

Thank you,

I'm going to feel without judgment.

So put your attention on that part of your body.

Good.

Your attention is absolutely powerful.

You are a powerful being and your attention with the proper intention is unbeatable.

Your intention is for this discomfort in your body to release and heal.

Say to yourself or say out loud if you're alone,

The following words to that sensation.

There you are sensation.

There you are.

I see you now.

I feel you now.

You're right here in my shoulder or wherever and you want to come out and heal and I'm going to allow you to do that.

Come on out.

I am not going to repress you anymore.

I'm not going to allow my mind to judge you,

To be afraid of you.

I'm going to love you and encourage you to come out so it can heal completely.

I realize that what happened in my mind was,

Was my two plus two equals five,

A belief about myself and I'm releasing that and now I'm releasing you.

Come on out.

And as you say that three things can happen.

I want to let you just invite it to release first.

Give you some time to do that.

While you're doing that,

You're feeling as well.

You're feeling,

You're continuing to feel the body.

Good.

You will notice that three things,

Three possible responses can happen.

Your sensation can get stronger.

Don't be alarmed.

Don't be afraid.

This is a natural process.

It may be uncomfortable,

But it's going through its natural healing.

You've invited it to release.

So it's coming out a spring that's wound tight for 10,

20,

30 years is going to release with a little tension,

A little energy to allow it to increase and continue to invite it.

Continue to love it.

Continue to acknowledge it.

The second alternative is that it can just diminish.

Really open and then diminish.

Maybe done or you may need to do it a couple of times,

But it releases.

Say thank you.

Wonderful.

The third alternative is that it's going to move to a different part of your body because we have many incidences of this and it could be lodged in different parts of the body and now the body wants to release it all.

So it releases the shoulder and now it goes to the stomach.

Then it may go to the leg or the butt or the back.

Follow it.

And when you go to the new place,

Invite that.

There you are.

Okay,

You're moving.

I see you.

I embrace you.

Come on out.

And sometimes it doesn't want to come out.

It just,

It just,

It just seems to be there.

So just embrace it like you would embrace a crying child.

Having having a little fit.

You hold it.

You hold in with love and,

And it fights you once a break loose,

But not really.

And finally you hold on and it just lets go.

It like,

It lets go and releases its limp in your arms.

So just treat these sensations like a little child wanting to be released.

Sometimes fighting itself and help it along.

Good.

Good.

Now,

I want you to take a deep breath and go back into the silence of who you are.

Go back into the quietness,

Go back to the breath or the mantra,

Whatever you use to go within and go back into the quietness.

You may notice that you can go deeper now because you've let go of some stress mentally and physically.

Yes.

Good.

Good.

You may notice that the body is waking up with sensations and you haven't even thought of anything or you've thought of something else.

It's like a domino effect.

You begin to remember something else that happened when you were a teenager and the body opens up and lets you know,

Here it is.

Go back and go in.

There you are.

Okay.

I see you.

I recognize you.

I allow you to come out.

Come on,

Come on out.

Get safe and feel it without judgment.

Feel it without thinking as best you can.

If you could just keep the judgment away,

Beautiful.

You're practicing unconditional love with yourself.

You are creating that environment where your mind and your body can heal and let go.

Good.

And if it subsides,

Go back into the quietness.

Remember another situation.

Feel the sensation.

Let it go,

Follow it,

Invite it and back to silence.

Now I'm going to give you some minutes to do this on your own.

Okay.

And I'll see you on the other side.

Maybe five minutes or so.

Have fun.

Be courageous.

Feel without thinking.

Take care.

You you you you you remember Not to think or judge once you start feeling yes good you you you you you beautiful And now I'd like to ask you just to let go of the feeling the sensation It's a sensation in your body And just allow the mind to be quiet as you quiet as you can And I want you to realize something in this quietness I'd like you to feel The wonderful sense of who you are who you are this powerful Unexplicable energy that you're feeling right now that is your true nature That is the nature that tells you That should tell you how to make a decision that's the nature that supports all of your thoughts That's the nature that gives you the infinite desire for happiness and love Recognize it yes and tell yourself you are a creator I might be leading you in this meditation But you are actually doing it not me.

I cannot do this for you You are doing this Even your choosing to be here and not somewhere else is a creation You are a powerful creator You're not a victim Only the mind will tell you that who you really are is this energy that you feel right now Right now and this is an energy that you can trust Energy that will never let you down an energy That will always support you But most of all an energy that is totally in your control To accept it or not It is not something that's in anyone else's control and because of that You are In control and inevitably can reach this place any time You want to?

It's yours Now,

You know how to do it.

You can do it on your own Your own great job fantastic

Thank you Ed for taking me to a safe place were the held up tension of a difficult memory could be released. Caring and holding space for me so that I could stay with the emotions and not get overwhelmed by them. 🙂🙏

Thank you. It makes more sense now that research confirms trauma can be stuck and stored in the body. I like the inclusion of the body in this.
