Hello,
My name is Eden,
And I am a therapist,
Reiki teacher,
And meditation guide.
Now whether you've found this meditation through one of my Reiki courses or just through the web of life,
Welcome.
These meditations are intended to deepen your relationship to your intuition and gifts,
And facilitate an understanding of your own internal landscape.
Each meditation is also a tool that can be offered to yourself or a client,
So I invite you to notice what shifts within you before,
During,
After,
Beyond the meditation,
Cataloging the effects with words and feelings and sensations,
Just letting yourself take note.
Allow it to be personal and universal.
Let's begin.
Wherever you are,
Go ahead and find a tall spine.
Gently,
Maybe even imperceptibly,
Tucking the chin so you feel the spine elongate all the way through the crown of the head.
And just offer your system a few slow,
Deep breaths,
Allowing yourself to arrive in this moment,
Releasing the mental grip from the day and some of that old tension in the body.
Today,
I'm just going to offer us the Gokai Prayer.
These are the five Reiki principles.
They're also the five precepts of Buddhism.
Because,
Of course,
The more we learn,
The more we recognize that everything is intertwined.
And so as I just read this prayer a few times,
I invite you to notice what each phrase elicits in your body.
What reactions come up.
What responses come up.
Just noticing.
No judgment.
Just curiosity.
And one translation of the prayer is as follows.
Just for today,
Do not anger.
Do not worry.
Be humble.
Be honest in your work.
Be compassionate to yourself and to others.
Deep breath in,
Long breath out,
Letting that soak in.
Committing to those five precepts just for today.
And I'll repeat it one more time.
Just for today,
Do not anger.
Do not worry.
Be humble.
Be honest in your work.
Be compassionate to yourself and to others.
Letting this prayer soak into you.
Maybe through relaxing the body.
Maybe imagining that the energy of this prayer just seeps into every cell,
Every pore.
Maybe softening the heart to these ideas.
And whenever you are ready,
You can gently return to the day with this prayer in your heart and mind.
