Hello!

My name is Eden and I am a meditation guide,

A therapist,

And a Reiki master.

And today we are doing a 60-minute Reiki session oriented around the idea of trusting the flow.

Trusting the flow.

So if that is something that you need a little bit more of in your life,

Go ahead and get yourself comfy cozy wherever you are.

Maybe on the floor,

In bed,

Under a fuzzy blanket.

And just letting yourself start to relax.

And together we'll take three rounds of breath.

So go ahead and find the bottom of your exhale.

Inhale through the nose and sigh it out the mouth.

Two more just like that.

In through the nose and sigh it out.

Last one.

In through the nose.

Good.

And just letting your breath flow in and out as it pleases now.

Finding just a little bit more space between the ears and the shoulders.

A little bit more space between both eyebrows.

A little bit more space in the jaw.

A little bit more space in the chest,

The ribcage,

The belly.

Inviting breath in even more.

And noticing the space between your fingers and the space between your toes.

And then noticing the space just beyond your toes,

Right past the soles of the feet.

Noticing the space just above your hands,

Just beyond the fingertips.

And noticing the space just beyond the tip of your nose.

And just beyond the crown of the head.

And continuing to breathe nice and slow.

Can you let the mind find some space too?

Can you find a little more space between both ears?

Can you imagine your mental grip just softening slightly on this thinking mind,

This thinking brain?

Letting any words that come up into your mind just be released a little bit easier.

Softening the mind,

Opening the mind,

Just like the body.

And allowing yourself to access a slightly deeper sense of relaxation in your whole system now.

Taking anything else you might need to access this.

Maybe a little shift,

Maybe a pointed relaxation in the chest,

Maybe something else.

How can you let yourself soften just a little bit more?

And doing that thing for you.

Letting yourself settle into this soft place within you.

Where you have this level of awareness of experience,

Awareness of any words or memories or sensations or visuals that move into your system.

But also the awareness to be the one who watches those things come in and move out.

Occupying this soft space of awareness as best you can throughout the rest of our time together,

Knowing that you won't be perfect.

And that is great.

That is human of you.

Please don't do this perfectly.

If you were to,

That would mean your mind is grasping tightly again.

And we're ushering in that space,

That openness,

That relaxation.

So just doing your best to continue to be aware of your present experience as it continues to unfurl.

And whenever you notice that you have wandered off into the past,

The future,

The what-ifs,

The should-haves,

Could-haves,

Would-haves,

Whatever it might be.

Just kindly bringing yourself back into the present moment awareness.

Returning over and over again.

Just settling into this awareness even more right now as I use this next few minutes to clear our space and both of us.

Trust the flow.

And just as I move to read the aura,

There's this energy of like a clock hand turning backwards at this steady speed.

Like there's this expectation of linearity.

And an expectation of the past to repeat itself again in the future.

And this expectation can close doors for new solutions,

New processes,

New timelines.

And it's so understandable to take the past and use it to inform the future.

Oftentimes it can feel like our only option as we anticipate.

And possibility exists in the present.

The past can definitely hold information,

Key components.

But it's not the only information to use as we move forward in each moment.

There's this reaching for organization to help guide expectation,

To plan for the future,

To know what to anticipate.

And we can't flourish in that.

No one can flourish in that.

Sure,

They might be able to do what is expected.

They might be able to fill these specific boxes,

Perform these specific tasks.

And we need to leave room to let magic in,

To let the unknown in.

We must make space for that.

So take a few slow,

Deep breaths in and out of the body.

Taking a moment to just let your own knowing come online.

And breathing out of the nose or the mouth,

Depending on what just feels right for you in this moment.

A little act of flexing intuition with low stakes.

What just feels good right now.

And doing that.

Softening any muscles in the face,

The neck,

The shoulders that have tensed back up.

And inviting in a little bit of magic into this present moment by,

Again,

Softening and opening.

And asking yourself,

What's here?

What is here?

And another visual that just came through is this idea of peeking through a fence.

And that you just can't get the whole picture at once.

Not when you're seeing something else through just your eyes,

With these barriers in the way.

It feels like a reminder that while we can offer other people our experiences,

What's worked for us,

What didn't work,

What we noticed,

We can never see something from their perspective.

We'll always be on the other side of this fence.

Even if someone told us every single inner working that they could bring voice to,

We still could not be in their shoes.

So how can we invite in compassion and surrender and true non-judgment as we remember that?

Letting that beautiful unknown come in,

Soak in,

Seep in.

To even the closest relationships in your life,

The people you say you know the most.

Can you still let the mystery,

The magic,

The unknown in?

Because the relationship deserves that.

Everyone involved deserves that.

This beautiful dedication of unknowing someone.

Of giving their present version room to breathe.

The beauty in that.

Giving space to you to be surprised.

That is where the magic comes in,

In the unknowing.

Taking a few more slow deep breaths.

Again,

Maybe out through the nose or the mouth,

Depending on your intuition.

No wrong answers here.

Whichever one feels like it invites in this idea of unknowing.

Softening the system.

Letting this idea move from the head down into the heart.

And letting it settle there as you soften the body around the idea.

Breathing into it.

Can you let yourself unknow yourself?

So that you can be even more present with the version of you that exists only in this moment.

What's here?

And whenever that feels complete to you,

However you decide to gauge that in this moment,

In this space,

You can gently release the focus.

Release that breath.

And find your way back into that soft place within you.

With that soft inner gaze of awareness.

Gently observing without being focused on anything in particular.

And as I approach the crown and the head,

What's coming through is this kind of figure eight kind of belt that is wound from the frontal lobe at the forehead,

And down into the space between the shoulder blades,

The back of the heart.

This frontal lobe being where our logic lives.

The brain that makes us human,

Makes us metacognitive.

And then this space between the shoulder blades,

The back of the heart.

Also the shoulders being a typical place of the masculine holding stress.

The masculine is often associated a little bit more with control.

As of course,

Control can be such a strength.

It is a necessity in many parts of our lives.

An ownership,

An accountability,

A motivation,

Right?

So,

Control is what allows us to desire and then gather,

Create,

Obtain.

And what would be left if we removed the control?

What version of you would still be creating,

Obtaining,

Desiring without the control?

What could still be your driving force?

What if it was love?

What if it was love that structured things,

That invited others in,

That took action,

That took accountability,

That released the things that could not be controlled to?

What if love was the driving factor?

What if love was desire instead of desire to control?

And so here I'm just working to clear a little bit of density behind the neck,

Anchored into that space between the shoulder blades.

And just seeing what this belt needs to reorient into love.

And just gently starting to usher breath more pointedly into the upper chest,

The neck,

The clavicle,

The shoulders,

Sternum,

And the heart.

All the way into the armpits,

All the way through the outside of the shoulders.

And inviting the breath in,

In this specific way.

Letting go of any muscles that have tightened in the face or in this upper chest region.

Not forcing the breath here through any sort of contraction,

But inviting the breath into the upper chest through opening,

Relaxing,

Softening.

Knowing there's more space for the breath to take up and then recalibrate from the inside out if we let the physical body relax and open instead of force and control.

And just taking a few more breaths specifically into this upper chest area.

Biggest,

Longest,

Softest breaths yet.

Can you let the breaths be velvet?

And with this next exhale,

You can gently let that breath pattern go.

Letting breath flow in and out as it so pleases and taking a little mental wander around the body,

Around the mind for just a moment here.

And allowing yourself to notice what's here again.

Maybe any internal shiftings or steadying,

Just noticing.

There is no good or bad,

Right or wrong.

There is just presence with what is.

This unknowing to be surprised and to become familiar with again.

Over and over.

Meeting you right here and nowhere else.

And if you haven't already,

Just letting yourself settle back into that awareness,

That soft inner gaze,

That presence.

With the focus gently on nothing.

Just tracing the energetic line down the whole body.

Sensing this current of energy.

This stream,

This flow.

As we remember the intention of trusting the flow.

And as this energy flows gently through and down the body,

There's this other little current pattern around the heart.

And in river terminology,

This is an eddy.

Kind of like this circular pattern.

Where stagnation feels a little more present.

Where a leaf floating downstream can circle back in on of itself.

Pause.

The water it had been traveling with is now far downstream.

But this leaf is not stuck.

It's just moving at its own pace.

It can look like stagnation from the strong river.

The main current.

But the eddy has its own flow.

And to get out of it,

Is to flow with it.

To know that the circling back in on of itself is important.

Is actually the most efficient way to free that leaf or this self from that pattern.

From that eddy.

From that circling back.

The honoring of the process because none of us know the future.

No matter how much we try to imprint the past upon it.

So while it might look like stagnation,

What if it's perfect still?

What if it's perfect still?

These pockets of eddies,

Of shin,

Of the water gently returning back on itself.

River will channel.

This returning,

Especially to have more fruitful banks,

More abundance,

More diversity,

More sustainability.

We need this diversity in the relationship.

In the dynamics,

Both interpersonal and interpersonal.

You are not one thing.

Neither is anyone else.

So where is the eddy within you?

Where do you notice the eddy in relationships around you?

And can you start to allow yourself to reorient internally towards the beauty and necessity of those eddies?

Of those pockets of seeming stagnation and regression that are also progress.

And if really honoring the progress of this eddy still feels difficult in your life,

Whether internal or external,

Maybe just focusing on the fruitful banks of the river can help.

What do you notice could not have been built without this returning?

Maybe there's a lesson of patience,

Of grace,

Of deepening relationship,

Of healing.

Maybe there's confusion or doubt or guilt,

Knowing that those are important lessons too.

That we need to feel those things to get to the other side of them,

To have that fruitful bank.

So what can you honor in this return,

In this eddy,

In you,

In someone else,

In a dynamic between the two?

Thank you for this returning.

I release control because I know that the river knows best.

The river will let me re-enter into this main flow while also nourishing the banks that hold us.

Thanking the flow.

Thanking the flow.

The main flow and the eddy.

All of it together.

Remembering that this trust comes through surrender.

And that surrender doesn't mean inaction.

It does not mean throwing your hands up in the air and taking a step back.

Surrender means being present with exactly what is here.

Not what you hoped would be here,

What you need to be here,

But what exactly is here.

Staying engaged with that thing.

Letting the expectations fall away and being right here.

Not in that slightly tangential alternate universe that you think needs to exist for one reason or another.

What is here?

Be with it.

Deep breath in.

Long breath out.

Finding relaxation in the body again.

Opening up to this recalibration.

Mistrusting of the flow.

And taking as many of those softening breaths as you need right now.

Good.

Nice opening.

And letting yourself take a moment now to just feel the flow as it is.

As it moves through you.

Maybe you notice an eddy in your system too.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

Finding both movement and steadiness in this flow.

The only security that exists in the flow is through trust and surrender.

The only security in the flow is through your trust and surrender.

Softening to that.

And then letting yourself find your way back into that quiet,

Observant,

Attentive state.

And moving down into the mid-body.

And just reading the whole system here.

The physical,

The energetic.

There's this division of light to dark.

It's kind of slashing through the body.

From right to left.

Down to that left hip.

So there's this disconnection between that upper left and that lower right hip.

And there's pain here.

There's pain in knowing that they aren't connected to one another.

As the body,

The energetics,

It all longs for wholeness.

Even when we can never fully understand the level of wholeness that we possess within us.

Body,

Mind,

Soul.

There's still an internal longing for it.

Even when just our simple mind can't fully understand.

So we're just going to work to remove this schism.

Bringing the entire mid-body back into light.

And just letting yourself really focus on the breath now.

Start with just noticing the breath.

Just tracing the breath in and out of the body.

Getting really particular with the breath.

Noticing where it naturally travels to in the mid-body.

Where it goes first,

Second,

Third,

Fourth,

Last.

Where the breath seems to be avoiding to.

Just noticing with each round of breath.

And then through that awareness you start to let the breath soften.

Inviting it into those places it's avoiding.

Relaxing the breath at the edges so that the breath can go just a little deeper and wider.

Starting to let yourself change the breath a little bit.

To invite in more without force but just invitation.

Just intention.

Softening and opening.

Taking a few more pointed breaths.

With your attention,

With your awareness.

As we kind of gently melt this schism out of your system.

Letting the body rejoin itself.

And with your next exhale you can gently let that visual go.

That breath go.

Releasing your attention and awareness.

And just resting back in that observant place.

As I continue to work in the mid-body.

Just noticing anything that comes up.

That moves through you.

Staying present.

And what this schism is asking for is just a little warmth.

Bringing the body back into unity.

Almost as if the lower half has frozen.

We just want to thaw.

Not through heat.

But just super gentle warmth.

Remembering that warmth is all relative.

Warmth is relative.

And you don't need to offer a forest fire.

To a frozen lake.

For it to thaw.

In fact we don't know what would even be left of the lake if we were to offer it a forest fire.

Nothing would win.

This gentle warmth.

This act of gentleness.

Is what changes the world around us.

And that control is just this illusion of change.

But what's really lasting is warmth.

Is leading by example.

Without extending expectation.

That's warmth.

Not heat.

Not fire.

Just warmth.

An extended hand.

An invitation.

Just an example.

Being the warmth.

Offering yourself warmth.

Knowing that the warmth is much more efficient at getting us that beautiful lake back after winter than a forest fire would be.

Where have you been the forest fire?

And how can you be the warmth of just a gentle spring in whatever you're working to thaw?

In whatever piece of your life you're hoping to change.

Wherever you've extended control.

Being a gentle spring.

Trusting the flow.

And we move down now to the soles of the feet.

You're welcome to bring your awareness there or just to keep that attentive eye on your system.

There's just a lot of energy still moving down from the mid-body out through the feet.

So there's an invitation here to make sure that you take yourself on a walk after this if you have the space.

Leaving all technology at home maybe even being so bold as to leave the dog at home.

And to take just you on a walk.

Letting this energy release through the soles of your feet.

Knowing that the earth is incredibly equipped to hold this.

To alchemize whatever is being released into something more beautiful and supportive to every living thing.

Knowing it's okay to let something go.

Knowing that the earth is ready and waiting for you to do so.

And we take a moment now to return to the aura.

And the aura is presenting as this wellhead near the solar plexus,

The belly where this stream is coming up through that area of the body and then flowing both up and down.

Nice and gently and assuredly.

And it is incredibly rare for a stream to flow in both directions.

It can feel almost like an element of magic here.

This is your energy ushering in this unknown,

This magic,

This unknowing.

Inviting in potential and possibility and change through trust in the flow.

Knowing that so much more can be built and offered and released and called in through trusting the flow than there ever was in controlling it.

Deep breath in.

And long breath out.

Tuning back into your breath inside the body.

And noticing how the body accommodates the breath opening,

Closing,

Elongating,

Shrinking.

And then notice how everything else shifts around,

The breath to your clothes,

Your hair,

The blanket,

The pillow,

Whatever is around you.

And then noticing how you in your wholeness shift in relation to the room around you.

Taking up a little more space with each breath,

Growing a little closer to each corner of the room,

The ceiling above,

The floor beneath.

Reorienting gently back into your space.

And whenever you are ready to rejoin this day,

You can gently usher some light back in by blinking the eyes open.

Taking another slow deep breath in and out.

Welcome back.

And see you soon.
