This is a practice in flowing from winter to spring.

At the time of this recording,

It's the beginning of March.

And even though we're technically still in winter,

All of nature is getting ready for spring.

And these changes that are happening outside our body are also happening within our body.

So if you have been feeling agitated or tense or just kind of like angry for no reason,

It might be the way the seasons are moving through you.

So this is a practice to help you attune to what's happening in nature,

Outside your body,

And within your body as you are a part of nature too.

And leave you feeling much more smooth and grounded.

We'll begin,

As always,

By grounding ourselves into this space,

Into this moment,

With some easy,

Deeper breaths.

And as your breaths grow longer,

And as they travel deeper into your body,

Start to come into the edges of your body.

That feeling of,

Oh yeah,

I am in a body.

I am here.

And if it feels right,

You can do some sighing to clear out any tension or agitation that you're hitting up against already.

Maybe even some movement.

Shake out your hands,

Your feet,

You can stomp them if it feels good.

What's on the surface right now that is asking to be expressed,

To let go,

To move through you?

And once we feel a little more lighter,

Empty,

I welcome you to place your hands on the ground.

Feel the way in which your fingers and your palms make contact with the surface,

And how the surface pushes back on your hands,

Almost as if there's a conversation happening between you and the earth.

And as you feel into the earth,

Notice how she is undergoing lots of exciting change in preparation for spring.

Feel the power of the energy and the potential she holds in the soil,

In the seeds of new life.

And as you feel this vibration of pure,

Raw potential energy,

It's also happening within you.

Your body senses that spring is coming.

And you feel how this excitement,

This yearning to sprout and grow and flow forth into the world,

Is taking shape within you.

Springtime is a season of lots of new beginnings,

Lots of new activity,

And for many of us that can translate as lots of mental activity.

We have a lot of inspiration and a lot of energy running through us,

Inspired by what we see outside,

And a lot of it tends to travel up,

Up our bodies,

Into our heads,

Just like that energy of spring.

And we tend to really like to stay there.

And what could be a problem is when we get stuck thinking a lot and not doing as much because our bodies are still slower from being in winter.

And that mismatch creates this tension.

So let's work with some of that tension now.

We can start to take a look at any difficulty that we're faced with currently,

Whether it be a problem that we're thinking of,

Some emotions,

A weird feeling in our body.

I welcome you to call that forward or start to shine a light on it,

Whatever it may be.

And for now,

You don't need to do anything at all.

Just simply be with it.

And as you're sitting with this issue,

Start to notice if there's anything it's trying to communicate to you.

And not in a way like you're trying to solve a problem,

But in a very open and welcoming and accepting way.

Kind of like you're sitting with a friend who's going through something difficult and you're just there for them.

Welcome any emotions or thoughts or physical instincts to move if they show up.

Allow the bound up energy behind this issue flow.

And notice and notice in allowing this issue to untangle itself,

Notice how much more ease and relief even you may feel.

And this is the power of life sorting itself out.

This is what spring is.

New seeds that carry so much potential and so much energy bound within it and that are just ready.

I really,

Really want to just rise up and sprout up and break through the soil into the into the world.

So I know this practice was a little more metaphorical,

But I encourage you to as we transition from winter to spring and as you continue to hit any bumpy spots during this transition,

Use the lens of what's happening in nature to view whatever issue is coming up.

And when you're ready,

We'll start to transition out of meditation,

Stretching,

Moving around.

How does the energy of spring want to move through you?

How do you want to bloom?

How do you want to sprout?

Welcome that expression into your body so that you may carry this new sense of flow that's grounded into the world.
