Welcome,
Dear one.
Welcome to this menstrual meditation.
Welcome to this time to rest,
To restore,
To lay your burden down for a moment and listen deeply to the needs of your body.
Although our culture often does not honor a woman's need to rest at menstruation,
Your body needs and deeply desires to slow down while bleeding.
So this is a time for you to surrender to the needs of your body,
To reconnect to your feminine intuition,
Body,
And wisdom.
So finding a comfortable place where you can either lay down and rest or sit in a relaxed and comfortable position.
If laying down is not accessible for you right now,
Just considering how can you make yourself a little bit more comfortable.
And as you begin to settle in,
Drawing your awareness into your body,
Taking a moment to quite literally feel your body,
Your nervous system,
Settling,
Releasing,
And resting into greater ease.
As you start to begin the settling process,
Surrendering your weight into the earth,
Drawing your awareness into the places of contact with the earth below you,
Feeling her support,
Her holding,
And her connection.
Taking a deep breath,
And as you exhale,
Releasing further into the holding of the earth.
This is an opportunity to truly lay your bundle down for a few moments.
So as you're drawing your awareness into your body,
Just noticing any thoughts or sensations that arise,
Releasing thoughts of what came before or what comes after this moment of connection with your feminine body.
And as sensations arise,
Just noticing,
Welcoming everything with acceptance and awareness.
Not pushing anything away,
Just really getting in touch with how your body is showing up in this moment.
And now,
If it feels comfortable,
I invite you to gently place your hands over your lower belly,
Your womb space,
Establishing a loving connection to your sacred center,
This source of feminine wisdom and power within.
And as you gently establish a connection to this sacred space within your body,
Just noticing how you're feeling.
Maybe your womb is tender as she undergoes this intense process of release,
Releasing not just physically,
But emotionally any burdens,
Any places of challenge that you have been holding this past cycle.
And inviting this release,
Letting her know that now is the time to let go.
Now is the time to release anything that is no longer serving you,
And maybe asking your body,
What do I need to release at this time?
And noticing whatever arises,
Allowing this process to unfold naturally and without judgment.
And as you release,
Welcoming a sense of sweet relief.
Now letting go of any intentional doing,
Releasing,
Feeling,
And just taking the next few moments to truly rest,
Giving your body the space and time to surrender as she deeply desires to do at this time.
As you soak up this moment of stillness,
Of silence,
Of restoration and connection to yourself,
Knowing that this place of stillness is always available to you,
And it's especially important to tap into this stillness at menstruation.
So taking a moment to thank yourself,
Pay gratitude to yourself and your body for giving yourself this gift of rest,
And taking a moment to harvest any insights or clarity or even points of confusion that have arisen for you through this process of slowing down and reconnecting within,
Just acknowledging them,
Holding on to these insights,
Clarity,
Questions to be examined further at a later time.
Your body will remember.
And then slowly and gently bringing your awareness back into your physical body.
If your hands are still on your womb space,
Maybe feeling the connection of your fingertips with this warm belly,
And deepening your inhalation and your exhalation to support you in coming back into the space,
Perhaps wiggling fingers and toes,
Removing your hands from your body and maybe giving yourself a gentle stretch,
And once again thanking yourself and your body for this opportunity to rest and reconnect within.
And before moving on,
I invite you to consider how can you bring this sense of slowness,
Of stillness and restedness into the remainder of your day and your bleed time.
And I thank you for joining me,
For taking this time to nourish yourself,
And I'm wishing you a restful and restorative bleed.
