Good morning.

Find a steady and comfortable seat for your meditation.

Root down and grow up.

Connect with your breath.

As you breathe consciously through your nose,

Feel the breath move across the nostrils.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Calm the mind.

Feel that you are here now.

Feel your breath enter your ever-expanding heart space.

I wake up this morning with clarity of my aspiration.

Until I reach enlightenment,

I take refuge in the Buddhas,

The Dharma,

And the Sangha by practicing the six perfections in order to benefit all sentient beings.

May I achieve Buddhahood.

Today,

I will be aware of actions I take to protect life while abstaining from violent actions that create harm.

This vow to protect life includes the lives of all humans,

Animals,

Plants,

The earth,

And the elements.

Today,

I joyfully practice virtuous living.

I fully participate in life today through honest and uplifting speech,

While taking full responsibility for my words and actions.

If I make a mistake today or cause any harm,

I will acknowledge this error immediately and will take action to purify the karmic result right away.

I joyfully put into practice the teachings today without any doubt or hesitation that the teachings are the path to liberation.

I invite a spacious view in my mind married with grounded and mindful awareness and discernment.

With my spacious mind,

I zoom out to see the karmic implications that arise from non-virtuous actions.

In this space of understanding the laws of cause and effect,

Without hesitation,

I choose to engage in virtuous actions,

Large and small,

To benefit all beings.

I understand that samsara is filled with worldly enjoyments that are without end,

And attachment to these will never bring lasting happiness.

I know that when I reach the point of being disgusted with the endless material pursuits and sensory pleasures of this world,

Then my practice will take root.

May my spacious and altruistic mind be filled with bodhicitta,

My sincere wish for all beings to be free of suffering.

May all the merit from my practices,

From my positive thoughts and actions today,

Benefit all sentient beings.

And the cause of suffering.

May all beings reach perfect happiness,

Remain in it,

And live in equanimity.

May all beings maintain love for all others without discrimination.
