Start by sitting or laying comfortably and beginning to breathe deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth with an audible sigh,

Releasing any stale air and allowing new fresh air to fill your lungs and your heart and body and mind.

And on your next inhale,

I want you to breathe in as much air as you can and hold your breath for a count of three,

Two,

One.

And as slowly as you can,

I want you to exhale that breath as if you're breathing out through a straw.

And when you're done,

You can breathe comfortably.

We're going to do that again,

But this time when you exhale,

I want you to relax all of your body into that exhale and breathe out as slowly as you can.

So go ahead and begin taking some very deep breaths in and out.

And when you're ready,

Go ahead and breathe in as much air as you can.

Hold it for three,

Two,

One.

Breathing out as slowly as possible through that straw and relaxing your body into that exhale and breathing comfortably.

I'd like you to go ahead and do another one on your own.

And when you're done,

Begin to breathe comfortably and relax into whatever position you're in.

Breathe in that clear,

Pure air now and see how good it makes you feel.

Imagine that the air that you are breathing is filled with hundreds of thousands of tiny,

Sparkling,

White molecules of clean,

Pure energy.

As you breathe,

You can see every molecule of air as they penetrate very deeply into your chest and flow into your lungs and through your entire body.

This air is pure,

Pure of chemicals and pollutants.

Breathe slowly and deeply,

Slowly and evenly,

In and out,

In and out.

You are breathing in this calm,

Positive,

Healthy feeling.

And when you exhale,

You breathe away any tension and negativity that you may have been holding on to.

And now I want you to build an image of yourself in your mind's eye as a non-smoker.

Notice how your overall appearance has improved and how much better you look,

How much better you feel now that you've stopped smoking.

Your complexion is clear and healthy.

Your eyes are bright and sparkling.

Your breath is fresher.

Your mouth tastes clean.

You have more energy and more vitality.

Even your circulation has improved just by giving up smoking.

Your food tastes better.

Your sense of smell is heightened.

And you are more attractive,

Confident and energetic than ever before.

See yourself looking very relaxed,

Very confident and proud of yourself for giving up smoking.

All your senses are sharpened.

Your food tastes better.

Your sense of smell is heightened.

Your mind is more lucid and clear.

You feel absolutely wonderful and so glad that you made the decision to become a non-smoker.

And from this moment onwards,

You really are a non-smoker.

You don't want to smoke.

You don't like to smoke.

Therefore,

You don't want to smoke.

Smoking is a thing of the past for you.

It is something you used to do but do no longer.

You are a non-smoker now.

You are a non-smoker and you are a proud non-smoker.

You don't want to smoke.

You don't need to smoke.

So you don't smoke.

It is as easy and as simple as that.

From this moment forward,

When you are with other people who smoke,

You become acutely,

Consciously aware of the stale,

Unpleasant smell of tobacco on them.

You can really smell that stale tobacco on the clothes and on the hair and on the breath and even on the skin of every smoker that comes close to you.

And you're growing to thoroughly dislike that stale,

Unpleasant tobacco smell.

Not only do you dislike the smell,

It makes you feel a bit nauseous.

The thought that you've been inhaling that poison into your system makes you feel sick.

And that is why,

From now on,

You prefer not to think about cigarettes at all.

And that's also the reason that you make a firm commitment to yourself right now to never smoke again.

And from this moment forward,

You have no need,

No want,

And certainly no desire to ever smoke again.

It's almost as though smoking does not exist,

Which in a way it doesn't now.

Certainly not for you.

Smoking was part of the old you,

The dependent you,

And the old way of life.

But this new you has so much more confidence,

Is more in control,

Is happier and calmer than ever before.

And giving up smoking makes you feel more confident.

It is a sign that you are in control of your mind,

Your body,

And your health.

And you really do enjoy this wonderful feeling of being in control.

You are now an ex-smoker.

You are an ex-smoker.

And you are proud to be an ex-smoker.

Now picture yourself in a place where you used to smoke a lot.

Project your mind now into the future.

Imagine that six beautiful smoke-free months have gone by,

And you have had not one cigarette,

Nor have you wanted one.

You've rarely even thought of cigarettes during this time.

And when you saw others smoke,

It didn't even bother you at all.

In fact,

What it did do was make you feel proud of yourself for quitting that dirty old habit.

So yes,

It has been a beautiful smoke-free six months.

And you still really enjoy being a non-smoker.

You're feeling healthier and happier,

Cleaner and fresher,

And more in control of your mind and body and health.

You are more confident around others,

Knowing that you no longer carry that stale,

Unpleasant,

Rancid smell around with you.

You knew even then that the smell would linger on your clothes and hair,

And could see by the look on their faces that non-smokers didn't like being too close to you until the smell had worn off.

But on this particular day,

I want you to imagine that someone is coming into your scene.

You might already know the person,

Or it could be a stranger.

It really doesn't matter who it is,

Except that this is someone who smokes.

Allow them to come closer near you.

You can tell that they smoke as soon as they approach you because of the smell.

And now this person is offering you a cigarette.

You immediately say no.

You say no.

You say automatically no to cigarettes because you have no desire to go back to that filthy old habit.

Your mind and body reject cigarettes.

You don't want them.

You don't need them.

You say no,

And you mean no.

Cigarettes are poison to your system.

Your body and mind reject cigarettes.

When you say no to cigarettes,

You immediately feel good about yourself.

You really love that feeling of being in control.

You are in control of your body.

You are in control of your mind.

And you are in control of your health.

You really love being a non-smoker.

It makes you feel good.

It makes you feel confident.

It makes you feel proud of yourself.

It also makes you feel in control,

Which is very important to you.

And coming back to the present time,

From this moment forward,

You are a non-smoker.

Your mind and body rejects cigarettes and all tobacco.

Cigarettes and tobacco are poison to your system.

You don't want them.

You don't need them.

So saying no is very,

Very easy.

And every day you feel better and healthier,

Fitter and more energetic.

You find that you can do everything that you used to do as a smoker so much easier and more competently as a non-smoker.

Your mind is sharp and clear.

You are able to concentrate better.

And you enjoy practicing your breathing exercises by slowly inhaling positive feelings,

Holding that breath for a mental count of three,

And then slowly exhaling the air through your mouth.

Let's try that again,

Feeling how it feels so good to breathe in clean,

Fresh,

Pure air that cleanses and purifies your mind and body.

Breathing in deeply positive feelings and holding that breath for a count of three.

And now thank yourself.

Thank yourself for choosing you.

And now taking a couple of conscious,

Very deep breaths,

Intentional breaths,

As you become aware of your body and begin to awaken it.

Wiggling your fingers and your toes and opening your eyes.

Taking one last big,

Deep breath in.

Accessing that confidence,

That energy.

Knowing that moving forward from here on out,

You can access that energy anytime you need it.

Congratulations on choosing you.
