Hi,
This is Dr.
Tracy Moreno.
Thank you for joining me for this Lean Into It meditation.
The purpose of this meditation is to learn and practice how to allow ourselves to feel our emotions without trying to avoid,
Repress,
Or deny them.
Allowing ourselves to feel actually helps us process what we're feeling and will therefore get us through the pain much faster.
When we try to run from emotions,
We're really just packing it away in that emotional baggage we carry around all day every day.
Unfortunately,
The only way to get to the other side of pain is to go through it,
Not around it.
Believe me,
It sucks and it's hard,
But it is very necessary.
So instead of backing away from our emotions,
We're going to learn to lean into it together.
We're going to fully immerse ourselves in that emotional pain for the sole reason of processing through it and being able to walk out of it,
Leaving it behind us.
And although we never forget,
We can leave the intensity of the emotions attached to it in the past.
If we don't allow ourselves to process through the emotional pain,
We will continue to carry it with us,
Never to free ourselves from it.
Now is the time to feel it so that we can release it.
Now,
If you're ready to do this,
Great,
Let's keep going.
But if you're not,
That's okay.
Please stop here and just come back when you're ready.
You are in control.
This is your timeline and you continue whenever you are ready.
If you're continuing with us,
Sit somewhere comfortably and just begin to breathe.
Breathe in whatever way is comfortable for you and gently close your eyes.
In your mind,
Pull up a situation or person,
A place or anything that is causing you pain.
Imagine that pain as a ball of emotional energy floating right in front of you.
Notice any changes in your body as you face what you're feeling.
Our natural tendency is to stiffen up and back away.
Only this time,
I want you to take a big,
Slow,
Deep breath.
As you exhale,
Loosen up your body,
Clear your mind and take a step forward.
Step into that emotional energy.
Surrender to it.
Surrender.
Remember,
You have to go through it to get to the other side of it.
Breathe.
Pull up the emotions you're feeling.
If there are several different emotions you're feeling,
Go through them one at a time.
As you go through them,
Think of what triggered this emotion.
And just notice what comes up and let it play through like a slideshow or a movie.
Try not to attach to any one thing.
You're just noticing what comes up.
You are only a witness to this.
Remind yourself that what you're remembering is now over.
This only exists in your memories.
Repeat after me.
It's okay to feel what I'm feeling.
Breathe.
It's over.
You are safe now.
Now I want you to bring the focus to your body.
What are you feeling in your body?
In your mind's eye,
Scan your body from head to toe to see where you feel those emotions.
Place your hands gently over any areas you feel discomfort or pain and say to that part of the body,
It's over.
You are safe.
It's over.
You are safe.
Now together,
We're going to breathe in safety and comfort and breathe out the pain.
With each breath,
Focus on a different part of your body,
Starting with the head and slowly and gradually moving down to your feet.
Breathe in safety and comfort and breathe out the pain.
Breathe the pain out through the soles of your feet.
Release it into the earth.
It's over.
You are safe.
It's over.
Clear your mind of all pain.
Clear your mind of all pain.
Clear your body of all pain.
Clear your spirit of all pain.
Now it's time to step out of this ball of emotional energy.
Leave it behind you.
Step out.
Feel the release.
Experience the relief,
The lightness.
Breathe into the freedom.
Feel what this relief feels like in the mind.
Feel what this freedom feels like in the body.
And take note of this feeling.
Commit it to memory.
Know that you can call upon this feeling at any time.
All you have to do is lean into it and know that you are brave.
Know that you are strong and know that you are loved by you.
Continue to love yourself.
And thank you for trusting me to guide you on this journey,
But please also know that you took this journey all on your own.
