Transcript

The following meditation is brought to you by Sarah Kavrak,

Cognitive psychologist,

International yoga and meditation teacher,

Reiki master,

And Earth advocate.

Make your way into a comfortable seated position.

Close your eyes and place your palms over the center of your chest.

Begin to breathe slowly in through your nose and then gently back out.

Again,

Breathe in and gently breathe out.

Slowly breathe in and gently breathe out.

Continue just like this for the next few cycles of inhale and exhale.

Lower your hands to your lap but keep your eyes closed.

It's been said that anxiety is the thief of joy.

When we experience times of uncertainty,

Anxiety tends to be one of the first things we feel and one of the toughest emotions to manage.

Stepping out of the chaos which anxiety induces for us requires that we re-center ourselves into our physical body and also into the present moment.

Keep breathing with me and repeat these words.

I am here.

I am breathing.

I am here.

I am breathing.

Keep going.

I am here.

I am breathing.

Coordinate these words with the flow of your breath.

On your inhale,

I am here and on your exhale,

I am breathing.

Breathe in.

I am here.

Breathe out.

I am breathing.

Continue on just like this on your own.

Whenever you find yourself being pulled into your own web of anxious thoughts,

Come back to this practice.

Remember that truth is rooted in the present moment,

In the here and the now.

Trust that this is a place you can always return to with your breath and your intention.

You are here.

You are breathing.

Namaste.

Much needed right now. I felt overwhelmed before listening to this track and I do feel much more relaxed. "I am here. I am breathing" such a simple phrase but so powerful in feeling more present and calm and more in control of what is happening around me

Short but really effective. A good reminder to focus on my breathe and be more present in the moment.
