Take some gentle neck rolls.
Maybe you just like to rock your head left and right,
Side to side.
If it doesn't feel good to do a complete roll,
That's okay.
Take some shoulder rolls backwards.
Again,
Opening up the chest here every time you pull your shoulder blades together back behind your back.
Draw your shoulders down and away from your ears.
Take a few more mindful breaths in.
Release out.
Inhale,
Draw air in.
Exhale,
Letting everything go that does not serve your heart space,
Your most divine loving self.
Just let it go.
At the bottom of your next exhale,
Gently rest your eyes,
Lowering your gaze down towards the floor,
Closing your eyes completely.
If you'd like to tap into your heart space a bit more,
You can just rest your palms gently right in that space.
Or keep your palms resting in your lap,
Wherever feels most comfortable for you.
Breathe into that space.
When our heart chakra is in harmony,
We're able to love and accept ourselves fully.
We know that we are deserving of love.
We give and we receive love genuinely.
We cultivate compassion for self and others with ease.
Breathe there for a few moments.
If your palms are resting at heart center,
Make them notice.
Do you feel any warm or cool sensations under your palms?
Do you feel energy passing from your palms into heart center?
What happens when you breathe into that space?
Love and fear are bookends of the emotional spectrum.
The more we move towards love,
The further we step away from fear.
Our ego is fueled by our fear.
The ego is also a block to our awareness of love's presence.
The ego acts as a wall and a force that tells us that love does not exist here.
But that's not true.
Love is everywhere and where we are.
A course in miracles says that it's not our job to seek for love,
But to seek for all the barriers that we hold against love coming into us.
Where are you blocking out love?
We all have armor that's accumulated in front of our hearts.
How can we soften that space and cultivate more self-love and compassion so we can express that outward into the world?
When you feel yourself hardening towards love,
Can you breathe into that harshness?
Start to identify those feelings that are holding you back from authentically expressing your vulnerability and your love.
Start to close out our practice.
I'd like to leave you with a quote from Mary Williamson,
The author of A Return to Love.
She shares,
It takes more than crystals and rainbows.
It takes discipline and practice.
It's not just a sweet sentiment from a Hallmark car.
It's a radical commitment to a different way of being.
A mental response to life that is completely at odds with the thinking of the world.
The world we live in today would have us believe that there is no love.
But again,
I share that's not true.
We may be blocked off from it.
We may not be tapped into our own self-love,
And so it might be difficult to express it outwardly to others.
That love is always there.
The purest essence of all of us.
Love.
Start to deepen your breath.
If you lost that connection to your heart space,
Breathe right into that center.
Inhale love,
And exhale fear.
Inhale vulnerability,
And exhale your barriers to love.
Inhale love,
And release your fear.
Start to reintroduce some movement to your practice by gently wiggling your fingers and your toes.
Gently and easefully blink your eyes open,
Taking in the sights around you.
If your palms are already at heart center,
Let them rest there for a little bit,
And those of us that are not,
Go ahead and bring both palms to your heart center.
Together we'll all acknowledge that we've done something loving and nourishing for our bodies.
Take care,
Be well everyone.
